The only reason that I am giving this "salon" a one star is because google reviews do not allow for zero stars to be given. My girlfriend, currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, went to the salon in hope of getting her hair cut so that she could preemptively cut it before it started falling out. Instead, the person who washed her hair made such a giant knot that the actual hair stylist could not even cut her hair. On top of dealing with cancer, now she has to deal with this salon completely destroying her hair and most likely force her into a rushed, albeit now necessary, decision to cut her very short. I can not express how saddening it was to see this joke of an establishment destroy her already fragile emotional state by causing her beautiful hair to be knotted/matted and unable to work with. This establishment should be ashamed of how she was treated. DO NOT GO HERE, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE unless you want your hair to be ruined. Read Less

I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax. The lady who did my wax was a Ukrainian old lady named Tami. She was extremely rude and asked me where I usually go and why I didn't go back there. I thought that was quite rude but I replied politely because she was an old lady and I was brought up to be respectful. She bragged about working at the Hilton and then complained about how much hair I had. She was so busy doing that she did not pay attention to what she was doing and somehow ended up being unable to get the wax off that she hurt me. Mind you this is not the first time I've had a Brazilian and never has this ever happened to me before. I have curly hair (I'm half black) and I guess she doesn't like my 'type'. At the end of her pathetic service, she had the nerve to tell me not to give her no $5 tip. I couldn't believe my ears and when she realized how inappropriate she had been she started to say what good bone structure I have on my face. When I called the spa to complain, I was told to contact Groupon. Needless to say I'm never returning & yes I will go back to my original woman, she's so good she gets incredibly busy but I'm willing to wait for Marysol in Union Center so to not have to put up with this type of disrespectful service. Got my first facial in Amoy and Tami was AH-Mazing! I had an underground whitehead/ capsule of oil that's buried deep. It doesn't hurt but really affected how I look – it's the first thing you see on my face! Tami took the time and effort to extract it out without leaving any scar on my face. Very poor customer service! Made a 2:30 appointment for mani/pedi, arrived on time and waited 30 min- no service! Mind you, I was the only person in the salon. 20 minutes later I received a call from the salon, saying that my *nail* technician was caught up and the woman she was giving a wax to "was giving her a hard time." Blaming a customer for your poorly planned schedule and making me wait 30 minutes with so much as an apology? Thanks but no thanks! I'll support another salon who respects its clients. Read Less

I made an appointment for a blowout because I had a $15 certificate. Blowouts are $45 on their price list. I asked for curls not knowing it would be extra but they weren't neat and I could tell they wouldn't last long. When I went to pay, they told me it would be $60 because she had to be careful since I have extensions. Within a few hours, my hair was flat and poofy on top. It was a waste of money. Read Less

Sophia was fantastic. I had a horrible experience dying my hair at a different salon. I was very apprehensive about getting ombré done but I was comforted all the way through the process. I went for a facial and a chemical peel at Amoy Salon Spa during grand opening. The price was reasonable and the staff is well experienced. The place is very beautiful; modern and easy parking. She clean me very good although it is little painful at beginning. My face is clear after 1 week. I would recommend this place for everyone.Read Less

NEVER AGAIN! These people nearly ruined my maternity photoshoot today. I needed makeup and hairstyle for the shoot and made an appointment a week ahead. I was told half an hour will be fine for face&blowout. I specifically asked twice. Why did I trust them? I don’t know. I assumed they are professionals. So I came there today morning and asked makeup lady to use “warm natural colors”. She took yellowish foundation, frosty pink blushes and grey shadows. I tried to explain that... I have brown eyes and need warm colors, not grey, she wasn’t able to understand that. What she made on my face looked like giant bruises all over my eyes. She didn’t look professional at all as if she just brought her own palettes and brushes which were not clean. I asked her to stop ruining my face and asked for hairstyle. And it turned out I had no time for this, since she was painting these bruises for 20 minutes! After I explained the ladies they are ruining my photoshoot, the hair lady did her best to make blowout faster. Still it took 30 minutes more than I planned. Twice longer for twice fewer services? Okay. I was nearly late for my photoshoot. I had to apply makeup on my own (they don’t even have makeup cleanser in salon!). The makeup lady told me “If you wanted a professional makeup, you should have go to Red Carpet Boutique”. Oh really?! Why then you keep saying you do this service and charge for this?
