Both my sister and I got our manicure here. We just prefer to have our regular nails painted. I haven't gotten a manicure in a while so my cuticles were thicker. The technician complained about my cuticles the whole time-- mind you they were not that bad, they were just thick. Not my first time getting a manicure. However the service left my nails feeling damaged. She also botched mine and my sisters nails. After I removed the nail polish, there are these big dents in my nails. Terrible assumption on my part. It has been a week and my nails are already falling apart! Literally. I got a chrome finish which cost me an extra $10. But what good is it if the chrome doesn’t last more than 2 days. I received the service on 12/9 by 12/11 2 of the finishes had peeled. And by 12/15my nails look like I had them for weeks!!! Yes, as people have said, they charge $2 extra for the use of a card. Yes, illegal folks. I'm told the BBB admonished them for it which I believe is true because the sign TEMPORARILY went away. Now for the technicians: I've been going to the same one for years. She's overly dramatic but a decent tech none the less. I woke up this morning with a glimmer in my eyes because I was excited to get my nails done. I went for a gel manicure as a walk in, beaming with excitement because they immediately took me. They took me alright, took me straight to hell. The  woman was rude, continuously roasting the length of my nails. First of all, my nails are average length and they have to be short for my job-But that is BESIDES THE POINT. I come to you to PAY YOU for this SERVICE and she's f***ing roasting me like it's a Comedy Central special. Like, mind your business, anyway I'm sure she's had to deal with much shorter, much more alarmingly atrocious nubs.  Despite the high level of discomfort already established from her stanky attitude, I had to sit there while she talked about me in Chinese to her coworkers. Grow up. Anyway, she made my nails horrific. I feel like I was in the show punkd. It was a disgusting nightmare. Every two weeks I look forward to getting my nails done, it is the one true light in my life. Some people smoke cigarettes, some people celebrate birthdays, some people like to paint...me? I like getting my nails done and it was absolutely destroyed for me. I'm stuck forced to look at these absolutely horrid abominations in my hands and I won't be happy ever again. She told me she didn't have OPI polish when she had a basket of it staring me in the face. She then continued to harass me about using cash instead of a credit card. You're working at a BUSINESS AND U TAKE CARDS. But there's more. This women decides to charge me an extra $2 for using a card, then I walk out and see a sign that says "$10 card minimum" ... truly unbelievable since my gel manicure is 25. Let me just start by saying I am very easy to please and this is my first time ever writing a complaint but this place deserves it. This was the worst nail experience of my life. I recently moved here and have been looking for a place that does powder gel and I was so happy to hear they had it. I asked for a mani/pedi and they started with my mani which when I do gel they usually start with my pedi but I didn't say anything. They didn't use foil to take off my existing gel just soaked. When she started putting the new color on pieces of my old color we're still on she just colored over it. She never put the setting coat when she was done and she never dusted off my nails so when she did the top coat my nails are all grainy. When she was done doing a terrible job with my nails she said I couldn't get a pedicure bc they were doing plumbing but there were plenty of people getting pedicures so I didn't understand. While I was drying my hands she came over and said now I can get a pedicure and she looked at my nails that had some excess polish that normally they would remove with polish remover but she decided to take off the skin that had the color on it. Ouch! So I finally made it to the pedicure, I didn't get offered any special pedicure which is what I wanted I wanted a massage and callous remover. I got no massage and she dug so hard into my toes. While I was sitting there for the pedicure I got a good look at my nails which looked as if I painted them myself. They are grainy and blotchy. I paid by $52 tab and didn't tip anyone. Very rude. I have been going to the same place for over 3-4 years in NY. New to NJ and wanted to find a new place. Walked in for a quote to ask if they do UV Gel French. Woman had no idea what I was talking about and kept talking about just adding a fill in on the bottom. When saying that it's not just a fill in and that my old salon would take it all off and start new she started telling me that I don't know what I'm talking about and that I don't know nails and she does. Another man walks over to ask what the problem was and I simply told him that I didn't want just a fill in and he just tells me to sit down and she would do a full set. At this point I don't even want to give them my money since "I don't know how to do nails" (keep in mind half my family who lives in another state does nails and I've been going to the same people for years who are awesome). I ask him how much it costs and he said $60 when my other place charged $45. The man later asked me why I even went into the salon if I wasn't getting my nails done. I guess I'm supposed to just sit down and not get what I want on my nails and then get slammed with a huge bill when they have been nothing but rude. I went here to get a pedicure and gel mani because the place I normally go to was closed and I was going on vacation the following day. The guy who did my gel mani was nice but he did not remove my nails with foil. He went straight for the drill appliance and starting taking my previous gel off with that. When he did this, I assumed the salon didn't use the foil method and didn't say anything. Later, I saw everyone else who was getting a gel had foil on their nails. He used a drill and now my nails are so soft and keep breaking. They started breaking two days into the gel mani. It doesn't even look like a gel mani and looks like a regular mani. And I wouldn't mind how it looked but I had healthy and strong nails before I came into this place and now they keep breaking and bending and it's actually painful. My gel mani's always last 3 weeks and this one didn't even last 5 days. Extremely disappointing considering I paid more than I normally would for a gel.My pedicure chipped the day after I got it done and was completely off within 4 days. I've never had a pedicure that chipped off so quickly. Normally when I get a pedicure, it lasts over a month and even then, I take off the nail polish because my nails grew, not because it chipped.This wasn't a cheap mani/pedi either. I also regretting tipping because now I have unhealthy crappy nails. This place looks nice and clean and the staff is friendly but is a complete waste of money and time. I won't ever go back. Very clean place and love their massaging chairs. UT is the lady who does my nails and she is best! She is very accomadating to her clients' needs. The salon usually opens at 10am but there were times where she went above and beyond and told me she can come at 9am for me to do my nails since she is usually booked a lot. Very sweet lady and I feel very comfortable with her, unlike some Asian salons you always think they are talking shit about you in vietanamese lol. This was by far the WORST nail experience of my life. I went in on Friday as a walk in (as I have always done for the last 10 years). The technician at the door assisted me asking what I needed done.  After stating I needed a "Fill in and a Pedi he began to do my nails first, I noticed that they were done with a thin coat of acrylic, fine no problem as long as they last I'm good. Well long story short I was back there on Monday and again today Tuesday as the nails kept breaking. I told him I wanted ALL my nails fixed as he did them too thin initially, he proceeds to tell me that would be considered a full set and not a fill in...... I could not understand for the life of me how he came to that conclusion as he did my fill in. He said he just did what I previously had when I came in, I thought that when you went to a nail salon and request a fill in... that's what they give you!!!!!!!!  I believe that was done intentionally to get me to come back so they could charge me more money. Why wouldn't he say that up front if that was the case. I was a patron of this establishment for over 10 years and trust me when I tell you I WILL NEVER WALK IN THOSE DOORS AGAIN!  That was the worst customer service treatment ever. And not to mention how they all started standing around and speaking in their language when I made the next technician fix my 2nd damaged nail.  Unbelievable and very unprofessional, my last comment is that I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau as well. I love LA Perfection. Iv been going for years david always does my nails and on the occasion where I come in and he's busy they hook me up with someone else. Iv never waited longer than 10 mins without a appointment. David is patient and if I change my mind as he's painting he won't give me attitude like some nail technicians do. I went to L.A. perfection Nails yesterday and to say it was the worst manicure I've ever gotten is an under statement. I had read and heard so many great reviews of this place and specially David was highly recommend by my cousin. When I called early in the day I asked if he would be available at 7 for a nexgen manicure. Now I understand that they close at 730 which is why instead of just showing up I called to make sure if I showed up at that time I would be seen. When I cal...led and spoke to David on the phone he told me he had would be busy at that time and would not be able to take me but someone else would be able to see me. I was in desperate need of a manicure so I decided to go. When I got there at 650 David was sitting at the front desk on his cell phone and ended up being the one to take me. I asked before he started to please cut my cuticles as I know some places wont unless you ask. He cut my cuticles after he had already done the nexgen and I had washed my hands a d he barely cut anything He didn't give me a hand massage, which in all the years of going to get manicures I know is something that comes with EVERY manicure. After that he was done. He finished and told me to go dry my hand at 723. My nails were awful. They were not smooth the were uneven and the filing and cuticle cuttimg was horrible. It was a crappy rushed job. To top it off he was on his phone half the time. The person sitting next to me came in right after I did to also have a nexgen manicure and the person doing her nails was taking her time and doing her job correctly, by the time David had finished mine the other costumer was just getting her second hand started. I have worked in costumer service, and understand sometimes people would come 5 min before closing time, and guess what you still have to put a smile on your face and do your damn job just as well as you would do it for the client that comes in in the middle of the day, because they are still paying customers. I'll start by saying, this was my first time trying NexGen and I love it. It's beautiful and shiny and lasting forever. Now for the bad.They're rude here. I called before coming in to ask some questions. I said "Hi, could you tell me some more information on the NexGen manicure?" and all the man who answered the phone said was "It isn't called a NexGen manicure, its just called NexGen". Seriously? Seriously. Whatever. I really wanted to try it so I went in anyway. They were loud, jabbered at eachother and ignored me the entire time I was in there. One of the girls who worked on my nails drilled way too close to my cuticles numerous times and I had to pull my hand away. I asked her not to file them because I liked the length and shape already...she said "I'll file them a little". Like...just no. Excuse me but I am paying you for a service so you'll do it the way I ask. I waited around to pay for the service for maybe 7 minutes at the front counter before someone said "Pick a color." I said "I've been here for over an hour I need to pay..". Should've just walked out if they cant keep track of their customers DESPITE having more employees in there than customers. He was rude to me when I chose to pay with a credit card (its 2015 people, hardly anybody pays or carries cash anymore so  just evolve with the rest of us). To top it all off, I handed him a $10 for the tip (2 separate girls worked on my nails)... He stared at and then said "...you want me to split this between them..?". Like yeah, its not that hard. This place is sometimes fantastic and sometimes alright. Most of the time they do a good job but if they are in rush to get you out of the chair, forget about it. But I love Lisa. She is super super nice and always does a good job with nexgen nails. She is amazing. I recommend her all the way! Horrible experience here today! The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because I have been going here sporadically for the past 10 years and not every experience has been as bad as tonight's. I went in for a regular manicure last week... Soaked off my gel and got just a regular mani to give my nails a break. The lady was nice and she suggested NexGen the next time...So I went in tonight and I did not get the same lady, but the person I had CUT ME A FEW TIMES! And more enraging is the fact that she tried to tell me it was because I moved. Lady, this was not my 1st manicure. She was rude and then proceeded to get the liquid in my cut! OWWWWWWW! It was definitely alcohol based and it hurt a lot. Not one apology. I grit my teeth and got through it. At the end she said I was better off getting regular manicures because I couldn't handle the electric filing! The nerve of her...My fingers still hurt now 2 hours later.I have never written such an angry review but this place is horrible and the woman that did my nails tonight should be fired.
