Wow a friend told me to try Saigon Nails so I figured why not I've tried everywhere else & haven't been satisfied. Went for the first time today and was beyond impressed. I was welcomed with a warm greeting by really nice people. Even when I was first making my appointment they were very nice on the phone. I came here looking for a new salon after my horror stories from another salon. They were able to fix my HORRIBLE nail job another salon did and now i have new beautiful nails. The place was very busy and I had an appointment. Wait time was about an hour. The owner did my nails, rushed the job and there were hairs, bubbles and clumps on my polished nails. She was more busy greeting the people that walked in instead of paying attention to what she was doing. Kept getting up to give them tea and candy. Owner was texting during the whole time she was doing my nails. The place is nicely decorated and the wax room is private. But the service is very poor. I do not recommend this place. Read Less

The first experience I had here wasn't incredible but wasn't terrible. I've never seen a salon so crowded Before so obviously I had to wait a bit and my nails took a while to do because the owner was trying to do them while welcome and accommodate other clients. The second time I went I was in and out inunder 30 minutes getting my old gel removed and new gels added my nails look awesome and I always love a quick turn around! Read Less

I am personally very picky where I get my nails done and I always need them to be perfect... that being said, I absolutely adore this nail place! Tara the owner is always so sweet when I come in that i refuse to give business to any other nail salon. I drive up 30 minutes just to go here. I always leave with my nails perfect and if i am not happy they make sure i leave with a smile on my face. Tara always greets me and always asks if I want tea, candy, juice, whatever! Great, friendly atmosphere!  The owner Tara is not only beautiful, but very welcoming to her clients!  I got there, she made me green tea, handed me a magazine when I was waiting. Gave this place a try and it was a complete waste of time: not friendly staff; It was my first time and I didn't feel welcomed at all. My nails were done in 12 minutes ( I know, we usually like it done quick, but 12 minutes was way to fast). My cuticles were completely CHOPPED and FULL OF OIL. Usually gel polish lasts 2 weeks on my nails, but I had to go back to another salon right next day. The nail technician not only chopped my cuticles, she also forgot to put top coat in one of my nails. If you can spend $25 in this place for manicure, go right next door, at Hot Tips Nail Lounge (If you must stay in Rockaway). It is definitely not the best place but they do a little better than Saigon. I really regret not going to my manicure... She is in Newark - Ironbound (about 45 minutes from Rockaway) and I thought that finding someone close to my home would be a great idea ... apparently it is not!! Read Less

I absolutely love this place! I have been getting my nails done since I was 14 years old. I am 46 now, and NEVER, I MEAN NEVER,  have I felt the warmth and compassion that I feel from the owner, Tara! She is a truly amazing human being. My nails have always looked wonderful, and are pretty much the only thing, i never have to worry about. Furthermore, Tara is SO accommodating, (and hard working)  that she will stay late without question to take care of you. I do wish that anyone that has had a difficulty would take  moment to share this with her, because I can assure you, you will be more than satisfied on your next visit. The salon itself is pretty and seemed busy with regulars. The girl who did my nails - seemed to be Brazilian? Not sure - was so rough with the coarse white file trying to remove my old gel during soak off/removal. I could feel the layers of my natural nail getting thinner with each stroke. Not good. Very rushed. The gel soak off trays were dirty and nasty looking - needed to be cleaned with simple soap and a brush. She filed my nails crooked too. Never holding them up to check. I will say that the gel manicure is lasting no lifting. I might go back in hopes of trying someone else but will be more assertive and will control the situation. Stop here after dropping a package at ups. I regret that I came here. The manicure table was dirty. They only display the color by bottle which made it so hard to figure the color i like. Horrible!!!  I don't even know why people come here! I have never had such a horrible experience in a nail salon and my feet like worse than when I came in! Amazing customer service. Tara treats everyone like a friend the minute they walk in the door. I had a terrible experience there during the summer. I showed them exactly what I wanted, peach colored nails with a cute little hibiscus design on the ring finger, simple right? Wrong. They did not have a good selection of colors so all they could find for me was a light orange. Wasn't terrible so I just went with it. The guy doing my nails had no idea what he was doing... he called over another guy to do my design. As this gentleman was doing my design, he kept repeating "I have no idea what I'm doing... Their gel manicures are the best and they hold up for what seems forever. Tara, the owner, has become a friend and her staff are excellent at what they do and have become friends too. Worst gel manicure ever. The man who did my nails was completely inexperienced. He screwed up on the base coat by not letting it sit long enough and then rubbing my nails with a paper towel. I have no idea what he was trying accomplish but it made my nails look streaky and bumpy. He continued to screw up each nail - he painted one nail at a time and had me stuck my hand under the lamp after each nail was done. IT TOOK FOREVER. Finally another woman recognized the horror and anger on my face and stepped in to attempt to fix things. She didn't do much better. She cut me with a pair of cuticle clippers that were not sterilized. I'm not only concerned with the money I wasted, but about the cut on my finger. Read Less
