The salon is clean and the employees are relatively friendly. There are a lot of service options. The pedicure chairs look really nice and it did seem like they take great care to keep everything sanitary.However, the pricing is absurd. $35 for a gel manicure and $12 for an eyebrow waxing is totally out of line with the norms for these services. I am also frustrated because my gel manicure chipped the same day it was done. I went back to have it fixed and they did fix it, free of charge. However, another nail chipped again the next day! I don't have time to keep coming back. For a $35 gel manicure, I would expect it to last at least a week. They also do not offer powder here which typically stays on longer. Be prepared to be OVERCHARGED! The first time I went here, I was quoted a price of $10 for 10 extra minutes of leg massage during a pedicure, and when I went to pay it was double the price, the woman with the short red curly hair said she had never told me the lower price at all. I went a few more times with gift cards and my experience was just OK, but this last time was what topped it off for me and I will never go here again, I have a toenail that breaks and has to be filled in with acrylic, she charged me $20 to fill in one nail with acrylic powder which took her all of about three minutes. I've had this issue for most of my life and was never charged more than three dollars at any nail salon. I asked, once again this woman with the red hair, why it was $20 for one nail to have acrylic on it and she completely ignored me. I've been going for a years and take my daughters as well.  We primarily get pedicures and they've always done a great job.  Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.  As many have stated, the shop is very clean.  Of course the place is crowded on weekends and you'll have to wait a bit.  That's a good sign!  I go during the week now and always get in quickly. Well there's a first and last time for everything. I had high hopes for this place because a friend recommended it but it was the most non relaxing experience unfortunately. I made an appt on a Sat morning easily, the day of. That should've been my first clue honestly. What nail salon isn't busy on a Sat morning? Then I arrived and had a lady start my pedicure. I say start because I couldn't let her finish. She spoke absolutely no English. I've been getting my nails done for over 15 years and I've been to plenty of salons in my time. I even learned some words in Vietnamese from my old nail tech, so in no way am I holding it against her. Basic communication has to be able to happen though and she was speaking to me in Spanish which I don't speak. I tried to ask her to do something but she couldn't understand. Then she tried to cut my nails along the sides, which any good nail tech knows causes in grown nails. I asked for someone else and she slams her tools into the sanitizer when she left. Then she comes out and sits next to me to do the lady to my right. Now it's just awkward for me and honestly not relaxing at all. Then a lady comes in and sits to the right of me and talks on the phone the entire time. Needless to say I will never be returning. I've now tried them 3 times, but I think it's time to move on.  Not bad pedicures, but I've witnessed them not appropriately cleaning between customers. When I asked the woman about it  she seemed to insist (she spoke only broken English) that she did clean the foot bath, etc. However, when getting my manicure this past time the same woman absolutely did NOT clean the cuticle clippers in between. She also didn't allow the oil to soak so when she tried to push back my cuticle she literally cut my finger.  To make matters worse she did such a rush job that the manicure only lasted 2 days and is already chipping away.  I had hopes to use them regularly since they are close by, but I'll try US Nails and see how they do. Pretty much paid 35 dollars for a paint job my 8 year old could have done. Rushed through the pedicure. Had to get help from another tech to do a basic design. Not worth it at all. If your going to charge as much as you do... at least know how to do more than painting a nail one color. I can get a full spa pedicure where I usually go for 5 dollars more and it's an hour long and perfect. They charge 55 for a basic acrylic refill w gel polish. Not to mention nobody knows what their doing. Everyone talks back and forth fighting over who's taking the next client " why can't you do it I already did one" etc. not welcoming. Overpriced. I had the same experience a few months ago. Wanted to give it another try since I understand sometimes people have a day... and I moved to the area in October... and this was so close to my house. I was compelled to write my first Yelp review due to the worst manicure experience I ever had!   Rude and obnoxious manicurist  charged me $20 for a four minute manicure with vinylux nail polish.  When I showed the manicurist the polish was off on one part of the nail and uneven on another she acted as if it was my fault when she had  just slopped  the polish on as fast as she could. I had Dolce remove gel nail polish this week. The technician used a file on my cuticles in addition to nails when attempting to file gel off after soaking, which was painful and unnecessary. The nails could have soaked longer and she should have taken greater care with her aim since there was no polish on the cuticles themselves. My cuticles are still cut and have scabs a few days after my visit. In addition, the removal cost twice what I have paid at other local salons. They seem clean and sanitary, have plenty of parking and accommodated me as a weekday walk in. Read Less

I have been coming to Dolce Nails every 3 weeks for 3 years now and NEVER had any issues. Julie has been doing my nails and is the absolute BEST!! My nails don't break or chip, ever. Julie recently gave me a French pedicure and it stayed on "perfectly" for 4 weeks! I highly recommend this salon. Read Less

Worse salon!!!! I had my nails done here for my wedding and they lifted less than 24 hrs later!!!!!! When i had them fixed.... you could see all the uneven gel that filed off. I will NEVER go back!!! After exhausting all nail salons in my area, I knew I had to go look at locations further away from my home. I may have had to travel 30 minutes to get to this salon and spa, but it was worth it!Not only is everyone there extremely pleasant and friendly, but they listened to what I wanted instead of just doing whatever and rushing me out like I have experienced at every other salon and spa in my immediate area. I will continue to be traveling the 30 minute ride to Dolce. My nails are beautiful and they took great care of them when I let me be aware of having very weak nails from bitting my nails in years past and just up until 6 months ago.During this visit, I only got a gel manicure with two different colors so it was $40 instead of their usual $35, however I am going this weekend again for a pedicure and bringing my mother for a manicure since we have been both desperately looking for a salon that will be worth every penny and then some! I first came to Dolce in search for the perfect pedicurist because I have some jacked up toes. I need someone with skill to remove my ingrowing nails without causing too much discomfort or make me bleed!  After visiting many nail salons in the Pennington/Ewing area I couldn't find anyone better than Johanna at Dolce Nail Salon! She does an amazing job every single time and doesn't rush through it like most nail personnel do.  She is the reason I keep coming back to Dolce!  The contemporary and bright decor adds some character to the salon that I enjoy.  Jessica (the manager?) is always pleasant and greets you as soon as you walk in the door and makes sure you've been attended to as quickly as possible.  If you come during mid morning and early/mid afternoon, it's going to be crowded no matter where you go.  Make an appointment early morning or late evening will be your best bet to reduce your wait time. Bummed to see the bad reviews because I've had nothing but pleasant experiences at Dolce. Although, I haven't been in while since moving out of the area.Prices are a little higher than I've seen elsewhere and yes, there is typically a wait so I definitely recommend making an appointment ahead of time.
