I visited today to redeem a living social deal. It was for a facial, massage and two add on's . my facial was nice, very relaxing I had the mint foot mask during the facial. My massage was incredible, it was with John. I told him that I'm on my feet a lot at work. This past week was a very busy week and I worked close to 60 hard long hours. I also told him that I ached everywhere. He worked out every knot I had! It was a little painful at first but I was in bad shape. He found knots I didnt know I had ,stretched my limbs and worked on my flexibility. I feel like a new person. I've had regular massages 2-3 times a year for years and he was the best I've ever had. The spa is nice , relaxing dimly lit. Its a little odd that you check in next door and sit outside waiting to be called in, your basically sitting in the hotel lobby. A private waiting room would be a nice addition. Read Less

There are times when you want Zen -- Botanical Spa can provide that (I've been going here for years!!!)  But then there are times you want to kick back and have a great chat with wonderful staff, like you are longtime girlfriends getting together to gossip.Botanical Spa & Salon offers everything you could want.  My husband and I have enjoyed massages there, both couples and alone.  This was the first time they accommodated me and I got a mani/pedi done my Carol.  It's her place and the pride she takes in her staff and her work is unbelievable.  Carol wants to listen to your needs and your day (like an therapist who is doing your cuticles).  She catered to my needs and understood I'm not a girly girl, so getting my nails done in gray and blue was a super treat.  She spent time to listen and to laugh -- she and her staff (super high 5s for Nicole and Sandra at the front desk) were unbelievably fun and excited for us to have a great time.  Having folks who want you to have a good time and the best possible spa experience makes the entire experience more than a treat.  You want to go back because, like Cheers, everyone knows your name and everyone knows your aches and pains and if you want pretty blue on your toes!The Botanical is inside the Marriott so parking is not an issue.  Always try to call a day or two ahead of time to get the time you want (even though they accommodated us since we were coming in from out of town).  They are not pushy with buying "extra" services or supplies or goodies -- they advise you if you like what they used or what you smell (the place always smells incredible).  They are on time and courteous if running late.  You will feel like a million bucks without paying a million bucks.  The pricing is more than fair and the results are absolutely wonderful!  I cannot thank everyone at the Botanical for being caring and being a lot of fun.  If this is your first or your sixtieth massage you are in for a treat.  Take the time and make yourself feel indulged! Holy cow, where to begin? Booked appointments here for an intended spa day with my friends. They both scheduled half hour massages and facials, I got an hour long massage. The place feels more like a booth rental ala some hair salons. The space is VERY awkward, and the implied locker rooms and robes/slippers relaxation spot was no where to be found for my hour massage, while my friends had robes waiting for them In their massage rooms, and one of my friends went searching for and found the locker room after a half hour of being abandoned (see below). For my massage I was directed to leave my things in the corner of the treatment room, making my Intended morning spent by the pool illogical and confounding. My friends had a half hour between their appointments and were offered a complementary health and wellness consultation which turned out to be an essential oils sales pitch, complete with catalogues. Seriously??? Then they were told the half hour isn't enough time for a facial, to which we wonder why a half hour facial is an option. One of my friends was left in the 'consultation' room without explanation while the other had her facial. Turns out the facials were scheduled back-to-back instead of concurrently, which was contrary to both what we booked and what was confirmed. A half hour later, I finally sought out this information on her behalf and rescued her from her robed purgatory. They cancelled and did not charge her for the service, but it was certainly not what we had planned. The only positives were the desk staff who were very responsive, and John and Carol who gave very good massages. Overall, if you're looking for a spa experience this is not the place for you. This was a nice find! The first thing to point out is that the spa is actually located in the Marriott hotel. It's pretty easy to find just off to the right of the main lobby. I made the appointment the day prior for a 60 minute massage. It was great to get in so quickly, since I was experiencing a lot of discomfort in my back the last couple days. When I called they had three therapist available, so there was quite a bit of flexibility in picking a time.They offer a variety of spa treatments so it was a little on the busy side,and just a tad bit noisier than I'm used too. The entire area is set for a relaxing environment with darker lighting and it feels more like you stepped into an old warm pine box. I felt  very comfortable my entire visit. My Therapist Annie, did amazing work and I left feeling much better than when I first arrived. She really targeted and spent time on my problem areas. I did not feel like the treatment was rushed, and that's always a good sign.The price of a 60 minute massage I originally thought was a little high, but for everything that was included, it was well worth it. A lot of what I would normally expect as add-ons, came standard with the massage. I'm only in the area for another month or so, but I do plan to make a return trip. Read Less

This place is a beautiful oasis surrounded with trees and a brook. It was my first time there, I treated myself for my birthday.I first liked that it is an Aveda Spa.  In just a few minutes with Carol, I could see how passionate she is about what she does and her wealth of knowledge on healing the body, and  essential oils.I had a great experience, it was affordable and I can't wait to go back.I am taking a friend there for her birthday! The Botanical has ruined all other massages for me. I have received so many gift cards to local chains and refuse to go back because they pale in comparison to the experience received at the Botanical. The thing I love most is that all massages are customizable. No pick Swedish or deep tissue...just make an appointment and they customize for you on site. Their facials are also amazing. Read Less

I got a full body massage with add on back scrub. Both were excellent and the masseuse was very experienced and recommended the appropriate add on. It was included in my package so I didn't pay extra. Also got a facial, and although I enjoyed it, the cosmetologist was pushing products on me, and I hate that. There was also a mix up with my appointment when I first arrived and two of the employees were arguing in front of me which I found very unprofessional. There is no actual spa area or waiting area, so relaxation was a little tough. The price for the whole package was very reasonable (bought with groupon) and I was offered to repurchase at the same price when I left. Outdoor pool was nice and I was able to use it for the day. I went back again... this time with a gift card. I called prior to make an appointment and confirm that I could use the gift card with a special they were offering. I was told I could, and the clerk assured me she would add a note in the computer saying that I spoke to her about using the combined gift card and special promotion together. After my service was completed, the manager in charge insisted I pay extra for using the gift card. I paid because I didnt want to argue but again, this is extremely unprofessional and seriously poor business practice. The manager confirmed that the notes were in the system as the first clerk had promised but that the clerk made a mistake. So she had to pass the cost to me. Came over Labor Day weekend and got multiple services for my boyfriend and I. We scheduled about 2 weeks ahead anticipating the holiday weekend.We had a really great day at the spa...The spa itself is fairly modern and feels clean. It shares the locker room/bathroom, pool, whirlpool, and sauna with the hotel. The hotel isn't brand new, so those shared facilities could use a bit of an update. But it's not bad. I would recommend coming ahead of time to take advantage of the pool/whirlpool and soften up before your treatment. Between my boyfriend and I we got aroma massages, a reflexology foot massage, a salt glow body scrub, and eye treatments. It was all amazing! The salt scrub was especially decadent and worth coming back for. Bottom line for this place is that you get an incredible value for a Spa. I've been to fancier places with more modern decor and newer facilities but those will run you double the price of Botanical... meanwhile the service and value you get here are just as good. I had a wonderful facial and an excellent massage. It would be a five star review, but the little extras were missing. I would give it a 4.5 stars if I could.I spoke with a wonderful woman to make my appointment. I mentioned I was going to purchase a groupon. She said they would honor the groupon deal without me purchasing it. She did ask if I preferred a male or female masseuse which was great because I forgot say anything.When I got there it turns out there was a scheduling mixup, but they were able to accommodate me, just later in the day. I knew I would have access to the indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna as a guests of the spa so I had planned on making a day of it already. The receptionist was kind and very helpful.I had two add-ons as part of my package. Both women who preformed the services were great, attentive, and knowledgeable. My facial was amazing, I wish I could remember her name, but I already recommended her to a few friends. Cathie did a great job with my massage she had a magic touch.Once I was done I wanted to take a shower. I understand space and layout are not easily adjusted so I won't say much about the layout of the locker room. But here is were I'm talking about the extras. One shower did not have any shampoo, conditioner, soap or body wash, the other only had shampoo. There were two hair dryers, but not a comb or brush to be found. All of those items were for sale in the shop where the receptionist is plus the spa is in a hotel so there is no excuse for them to not be in the locker room. They also need to sound proof the rooms a little better. I heard the outside noises (not just the minute talking) while I was receiving the treatments over the relaxing music. I've been visiting this spa for over a year now and I've never had a bad experience. John is my favorite masseuse and Ghazala does the best facials. I always walk out relaxed and completely satisfied with my visit. It's very small but clean and peaceful. I haven't yet used the pool but that is included with your spa visit. Read Less

Treated myself to a birthday spa and could not have been happier.  Staff was so kind and comforting  to my needs.  I received a seaweed body wrap, the best by far. Location is ideal,  the drive there is a pleasant one during any season, and as an extra bonus,  the swimming pool is available for some laps before your spa treatment.  Botanical Spa & Salon remains my #1 go to spa!! After a week-long road trip from NJ to Chicago, my boyfriend and I really needed a massage. So we decided to scope out some deals on couples massages in the area. We found the Botanical Spa & Salon on Amazon Local. So to make sure we could use the deal immediately (as in next day), I called before purchasing to make sure they would accept it. The guy told me that I didn't need to buy the deal and they would honor the price. You would just pay them instead of paying Amazon, so that's what we did. They happened to have a slot open so the timing worked for us.Turns out, it wasn't actually a couples massage. You're actually in separate, adjoining rooms, and they just leave that door open. That's fine but if that's the case, they shouldn't advertise it as a "couples massage." Other than that, the massage was nice - nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about. The deal also included an add-on service, which was either a back scrub or a foot mask. I opted for the back scrub. They were a little rough on that but it was worth it because my back felt really smooth afterwards.With a massage, you also get access to their fitness center, hot tub, and pool. There's also a locker room and showers but the showers are pretty dismal-looking. One of the two doesn't even have a soap/shampoo dispenser.I probably wouldn't be back because the facilities didn't seem too spa-like (especially when you're sharing with hotel guests, since it's located within the Marriott). Plus, I feel like I could find a better deal elsewhere. Read Less

I love going to The Botanical Spa & Salon! I feel like I'm on vacation - every time! I took my mom there this summer and she loved it too. She's now hooked on facials :-) I'd recommend them to anyone. Looking to get away for a day or even an hour or so? I had such a pleasant experience at this spa.  I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage and a 30 minute facial.My massage was with John and he was very accommodating.  He applied the perfect pressure and focused on the areas that had knots that needed to be worked out.  The music was soothing and not distracting.  I would highly recommend booking with John!As far as the facial goes, this was my first one!  I had the pleasure of experiencing this with Ghazela and she was as sweet as can be!  She is very informative and preventative in skin care.  She gave me great recommendations and I will be sure to use a toner in my skincare routine!  She offered different masks and peels, however with it being my first facial I wanted to see how my skin would react to the gentle exfoliation.  So far, looks great!I am incredibly relaxed and will continue to book my spa treatments with them! I was very relaxed and enjoyed my time at their spa.Moreover, my facial was amazing. Visited the spa on 10/3/14 Had a nice experience. My First time in an Aveda sponsored spa. My first service was a Massage with Bill. I would recommend him hands down. He gives and extra special foot massage. I had a zen like facial with Dorothy. My skin is glowing today. Then I finished my day with a spa pedicure and manicure with Vanna. Would I go back maybe..I'm giving the spa a 3 star because of few reasons. One part of the staff felt it was necessary to market the spa for another visit since I was using living social. I was still on the massage table. He could have waited till I cashed out. Also this is not a foofie spa. No thrill. No lockers. No amenities. I will say it was clean in the treatment rooms. But the bathrooms were gross and smelled like mold  and you can openly see it in the bathroom stalls. Read Less
