It absolutely sucks that I have to leave this review because I loved this place up until Saturday April 24. I brought my best friends here on numerous occasions and we always had a good time. We've watched Smiley's grow into the flourishing salon it is today. However, Saturday April 24, 2018, I asked for an ombré design on four of my fingers and a marble design on the pinky. My nail tech Rosa did not speak much English, so Smiley translated for me. Rosa appeared to understand what was asked. When it came time to paint Rosa covered the entire nail with polish not ombré into clear like I asked. I thought maybe she was going to do some other method of ombré so I didn't stop her. Smiley walked past as I expressed that wasn't what I wanted. She repeated again what I wanted to Rosa. Rosa, now upset, took off the polish job and did what she thought was ombré. She began to work on the marble design and couldn't figure out how to do it, so she asked smiley. Smiley vehemently, came over quickly and properly did the design and went back to her client. As I was drying another employee came over and sprayed my nails with quick dry and asked in Spanish if my nails were done or supposed to look like that and both Rosa and Smiley answered yes. I've posted a picture of nails on here. They are blue coffin shaped-it's the only bad nail picture on here probably. I'm not sure if it was a weird day or if Smiley can't handle all of the new clientele she's been receiving, but instead of letting your clients know your employee doesn't know how to do a proper ombré you let them leave the salon looking horrible is bad for business. Train your staff consistent with the level of work you normally produce. I drive an hour to get to your shop because you're worth it, but that entire situation was inexcusable. Read Less

My nails came out great but the service was horrible. the worst thing a nail technician could do is hurt a client not only was i was hurt but the nail lady looked at it and me and said "oh you're not bleeding you'll be fine." Went for makeup and hair pre NYE party. Despite being super busy they were able to fit me in and did an amazing job on making me feel and look amazing for a special night out. Hair and makeup stayed beautiful throughout the long night. Was happy I brought my own lipstick for the makeup application so I could reapply throughout the night after many small plates of food and drinks! I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for my nails. I came into Smiley's a few months ago with weak and broken nails and Smiley completely transformed them into long, beautiful, and healthy nails! For my pedicures, I go to Rosa. She gives hands down the BEST pedicure ever. She spends so much time exfoliating my feet. I would definitely recommend her!Demaris at the front is the sweetest! By far the best nail salon you will go to in the Central NJ area. I randomly came across it one day and I'm really picky about my shape, cuticles, polish color, etc. They were able to accommodate all of it but also blew me away with how good they were. Since then, I've been going regularly to have Smiley do my nails, she's an absolute pro and an expert in her field. My nails are always on point and everywhere I go people are constantly asking where I get them done. I've also started getting my eyelashes done there recently with Sonia and she's fantastic, they last two weeks without a problem, I can even go three and still look human. A good friend recommended this salon. Her nails always look amazing so I came here a few days ago. First, let me say that I LOVE my nails and will definitely be coming back when I'm in town.The receptionist was kind and very friendly. Pros: I absolutely love my nails. They were very well done. While she was doing my nails there were some things that I wanted fixed and I was going to say something - but it's like she read my mind - and fixed them before I needed to say anythi...ng. I gave no direction and she did my nails exactly how I wanted them. At one point I messed up one nail while they were drying and she fixed that for me too. I really appreciate when someone takes the time to make sure your nails look perfect with respect to shape, application, design, etc. (I got SNS with tips). She was meticulous and thorough and they look amazing. Cons: I had one problem - the nail tech (I did not get her name) cut my cuticles pretty badly and it's been almost 3 days and I still feel pain. I feel the job was rushed (not sloppy, she seemed distracted at certain points and was on the phone) but more care should have been taken because four of my fingers were bleeding (Next time I'll probably ask to skip that part). I been going to Smiley Glam Studio for couple years now and honestly it has been my favorite nail salon since!!! I always end up super satisfied with the service!!! When you walk in it such a relaxing place, you get offered something to drink and the people are amazing. Everytime I walk in there i feel like I'm homes. They make you feel super comfortable and has amazing vibes. Every time I get my nails done I always make sure I advertise them because I get about 5 compliments per day. My mom has told me if i dont have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all, but honestly, I never felt so invisible as a paying customer. I got my hair and nails done yesterday. I signed up through the mind body app for a shampoo, blowdry, and cut. I get there and the lovely lady(Sonia) starts with my hair right away all the while on the phone or talking to someone else. All of those things are done except for the main deal- the haircut without a word being said ...to me. Looks not the best, but I let it slide. Cool, great. NBD. My hair hates holding curls and gets super oily fast, so honestly the style looking horrible probably wasn't this lady's fault. Then, the nail appointment comes about. I wait over half an hour past when my nail appointment was supposed to start and am not even given an apology. I was acknowledged maybe twice(both times very pleasantly) during the whole appointment while who I believe is the owner of this salon(Osmeily) had a conversation with another person getting their nails done, and left multiple times ( I counted at least 5 times) in the middle of doing my nails without even telling me anything (maybe because I am invisible). Overall, the nails do look great, but my thumb and pointer on my right hand are messed up. The highlight for me was the extremely friendly and wonderful girl (Sumaira) at the front desk, and the random puppy that showed up in the middle of my nail appointment. Hands down one the best nail salons in the area. After looking for a nail salon that actually kept up to date with styles and designs. I found Smiley through much searching. Been coming here ever since. Always a pleasurable friendly environment and never crowded since they only take appointments. Currently rocking the coffin shape with the chrome polish that is in right now(love them).! Overall very happy and will continue to come here even though I'm 30 mins away. Made an appointment for a mani pedi at noon, and my tech showed up 45 minutes late. She didnt greet me or speak to me at all, she always deferred to her supervisor when interacting with me. Her supervisor had to start the manicure for me. There were no apologies or explanations for the lateness. The pedicure was PHENOMENAL. one of the best ive ever had. The gel mani however chipped and cracked after three days, which i am not happy about. The tech had me take my fingers out of the curing machine after only a few moments inside. I only get gels for when i travel because i cannot stand having chipped nails. Sooo three days into a sixteen day trip i am already dealing with a crappy looking manicure. They use brands ive never heard of, which isnt bad, but in my opinion theyre not up to the same standards of the bigger names (opi, shellac, gelish), as ive never have an opi/gelish/shellac mani chip after less than two weeks.
