It takes entirely too long for nails to get done. My daughter got her nails done for prom. She went on her own. $115 for tips with design and a pedi. I would NOT give this place not even one star, NOT even the tip of a star!!!!!!!! . I called them on Thursday, March 15th and made an appointment for 12noon the following day, March 16th.They took a deposit of $22.50 for a mani and pedicure and sent my receipt via text. So today they called me at 10:44am saying that the person who’s supposed to do my nails had an emergency and had to leave early therefore they had to move my appt to 1pm. I wasn’t happy about it but I said ok because it was my day off and it’s the only day I had to get it done. Anyways I took a nap, I woke up at 12noon as I had set my alarm so I could get dressed and be there for my 1pm appt. I checked my phone and saw a text from Bella Nail lounge text at 12:00pm stating “oh we have moved around some things and can now accommodate you for 12:30pm appt. I had just woken up so I typed “ok thank you”. My question is why did they texted me 30 mins prior. They have no idea where I’m coming from and how soon I can get there. They also inconvenienced me the first one and now I’m suppose to rush???? Last time I checked I’m not a super hero. I got dressed and planned to get there at 1pm which I agreed to when I spoke to the young lady on the phone. Fast forward, I’m now around the corner looking for parking, my phone rang, it’s the Bella Nail. The lady said “Hey Miss **** you’re late for your appointment, urrm say what now?? My appt is for 1pm. She began to say my refund has been forfeited etc etc like really lady!!! . It’s either you guys do my nails or refund me. They inconvenienced me then tried to keep my money. So I told the lady that I’m around the corner and I’m coming in because the phone conversation isn’t going well. I walked into the establishment where I saw two females, one of which stared me until her eyes hurted.I didn’t pay her any attention. I continued my conversation with the other young lady about my appointment and how to resolve the issue. Out of the nowhere states the other female, “You made me f***ing come down here for nothing”. At first, I thought she was on her phone but noooo, this woman was really directing her statement to me. I was sooo shocked. I turned around and ask her who she’s really talking to and we had a little back and forth, meanwhile the other female (the manager) is telling her to stop. The disrespectful female continued to yell and act ghetto. She then said to me “get out!!!”. I looked at her like she had four heads because there’s no way this lady is in her right mind. Once again we are going back and forth. I turned around and tried to finish my conversation with the store manager who’s stated that the “owner” will call me in regards to my refund. She also stated that they moved my manicure to 2pm, at this point I’m all confused as to when I agreed to a 2pm manicure. I went from requesting a 12 noon appointment to a 1pm to asking to a 12:30pm (without my agreement) and then now a 2pm. What kind of unprofessionalism is this. The female continued to shout and called me names, she then said she is going to call the cops, I told her go ahead because all I’m doing trying to get my nails done or my money back. I even mentioned coming back another day just to be done with it. The female went for security who entered the establishment and said absolutely nothing to me and just mind his business. I was “still” trying to get the issue resolved with the other female. The loud female hid behind the security recording me so when I realized that she was doing so. I asked her why and she replied “because I don’t want you to slip out with anything”. How disrespectful and rude and judgemental. What could I possibly want from a nail salon? Nail polish?? One thing I’m not is a thief, how dare this woman. I ended up getting half of deposit back and she stated that the owner will call me about the other half of my refund until this day, I haven’t heard from the owner!!! Recently had a pedicure and eyebrow wax with my fave Ms. Lulu (Im not giving up the day/ giving away her schedule...u gotta visit the site/book an appointment lol)Let's be very clear: This place is where one goes for the experience. That's what you're paying for. I dont get how some complain about the prices but go to a basic nail salon in  the 'burbs and drop more $$$ w/out question...smhThe decor, the drinks they offer, the service and quality of product they invest in to provide such experience is worth every dime.Grant it, I cant always drop the $$$ to go here every time. But let's be real: I'd rather pay for a pedicure where they are attentive to the health of my skin, cuticle & use products that leave my feet baby soft....for 3 weeks! Where the tech is willing to listen to my request until im satisfied. Where even the standard pedicure includes a deluxe experience of the exfoliation and hot stone massage! How awesome! Where they practice sanitation of their equipment as well as accuracy and customer satisfaction.I appreciate my eyebrows being on point & not having to go home and pluck/fix what the tech missed. I appreciate feeling #beautiful and refreshed! The ambience, decor, customer service, easy going catering atmosphere explains the price. So this review is long overdue. I love this salon and will NEVER step into another one. I had an amazing bridal shower here and have been back twice to get pampered. The owner and staff are super cool and the drinks are a special treat. The decor makes you feel like royalty--which who doesn't want that? I love that they take appointments only (I do have trouble booking two services online but only because I don't know how much time to put between each one you can call though). They are super responsive on social media and I was even able to share wedding pictures of my manicure that they did and feel like a part of their family. The gel polish I got for my bridal shower didn't last as long as I would've liked but for my wedding it was perfection (I just chose a different brand and got an extra coat). But I know had I had the time to got back they would've happily fixed my nails. The jelly pedicure will give you all types of life. When my budget allows it I will be getting a membership. This review is long overdue as i've been a customer for months.  Honestly no place is perfect, but what I appreciate is that they are willing to work with you in incorporating your needs or suggestions.Bella Nail Lounge and the team creates a vibe that i've never felt at any other nail salon.  You are greeted sincerely from the moment you walk in.The place is very clean, from the tools, chairs, pedicure bowls, which is what I want.  They use handmade scrubs and butters as  part of every service and the massages are divine.  I truly love the look of my nailsEvery person takes their time with the service and you aren't rushed, which is the point of being pampered.It truly feels like a day with your girlfriends because the conversation is always flowing and everyone is so welcoming.  However not forced upon you if you choose not to participate.I do wish there were a little more to choose from on the powder dip colors, but its growing.Appointments are encouraged.  Street parking in Newark can be a little difficult... definitely recommend the parking app so you can reload if you need to from the salon. This review is long overdue as I have been to this salon 3 times now. I love this place! A black-owned salon with top notch service. I've never been one to get my nails done regularly but this place has me wanting to keep up with my appointments. They have handmade scrubs they use on your hands and feet in your mani/pedi, they will give you something to drink if you'd like and it's just an all around great experience. The technician I like is Jessica, but everyone in there is amazing! They talk to you, get to know you and make sure you are taken care of. Last week on 11/27/2017 I decided to finally go check out Bella Nail Lounge and Beauty Bar located at 41 Maiden Lane, Newark NJ in Teacher's Village. I had heard some really good things about their Services & couldn't wait to go see for myself. I was "fortunate" to find a good parking space at a meter at 2:50p. The meter said 2 hour parking, but actually only accepted enough money for 1 hour, so be careful not to get a ticket. I entered & a young lady at the counter asked "May I help you?" I told her I would like a Manicure & Pedicure. She apologized & said we are all booked up for today. I was disappointed. So, since it was my first time there, I asked her do you have to have an appointment? She said to me, "No, but if we are all booked, we can't service you"...there was a dead silence as I stood there, kind of in shock by her response. I really didn't know how to take that. That was my first encounter & contact with Bella Nail Lounge & Beauty Bar. Nothing else was said, therefore I "asked her" for one of the cards laying on the counter. She handed it to me & I said Thank you & I left. I won't let that experience deter me from trying again. Every Receptionist is the clients first introduction to any Business. I just think it wasn't introduced properly. Maybe she could have explained more about the services & appointments, referred me to the website or offered me the card on the counter, which offers a 10% discount. I loved this beauty bar. I attended a bridal shower where they gave us the red carpet treatment. The space is beautifully designed, and I love that there's  a tv with a slideshow of pictures showing the journey to opening the salon.  Lisa, the owner, called me by name and remembered it when I returned for another manicure.  The manicure I got was the first I had ever gotten in my life where I got what I had envisioned. Not exaggerating here. They do any amazing job of creating an experience. You're not just some revolving door customer getting a rote service. You'll leave feeling like you left your neighborhood bar. I've never been a nails girl, but I dig the vibe so much that I'm planning to return as a regular customer. This place is amazing, very dedicated and friendly staff. It will be my go to salon every week from now on. I loved everything: the free cocktails, the hot stones massage, the hot towels and all their products smell delicious, they dont use any kind of cheap soap like other places. My rating is a 4.5 After my last nail salon decided that they no longer had to provide customer service since I was a longstanding client of theirs, I decided that it was time to find A new place. I'm so happy that I found this place on yelp. I can actually say the service here was great from beginning to end. The ladies were friendly and very interactive with the customers. I suffer from eczema so I'm not able to use a lot of things with a scent but they went out of their way to find stuff that I could use to make my hands smooth as well as my feet. I personally loved that I had a 4:15 appointment and was seated at 4:15. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because I felt that their color selection could definitely use some improvement, but besides that I will definitely recommend and continue coming here. I love this place! From the beautiful decor, friendly staff and owner, to the tasty cocktails that are whipped up for you, the cleanliness of the entire salon and the quality of the work, everything is up to par and amazing. I have had gel manis, pedicures,  an acrylic full set and designs done here.  All were executed to perfection.  Ms. Lulu is now my preferred nail tech due to her expertise and cool vibe, however, I have watched all of the other women work and they are great as well.  I always get compliments on my nails after leaving here.I would not recommend just walking in as appointments tend to fill-up fast.  Instead, go on the website and book your appointment.  You will have to leave a small downpayment, but that amount is applied to your final price after you've completed your services.I highly recommend this QUALITY black-owned salon filled with sisterhood, lively conversation and beautiful work. I found Bella Nail Lounge because I was desperately in need of a manicure on a Sunday evening. Bella is open until 7pm on Sundays while most nail salons aren't open at all, so that's a plus. The salon is at an awkward dead end so it was a little hard to find. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, offered me something to drink and a place to put my coat. I wanted a gel manicure but was a little disappointed with the selection of polishes. Though they were well organized by color family I was unable to properly see the gel colors since most of the bottles are opaque and they were not painted on a color wheel. My manicure was good, the nail tech was patient with me while I selected my color and was precise and paid attention to the exact shape I wanted. The lotions and oils they apply after also smell really good! However, when I left, my gel manicure was very dented with bubbles underneath and chipped after just 4 days. With that said, I think the salon is a bit overpriced for the actual job I received ( $10 to soak off a previous gel polish + $35 for a new gel manicure that didn't even last a week) Read Less

When I arrived at 7:12, Lisa greeted me by name. I was then escorted to a beautiful chair to wait for my nail tech, Michelle. Michelle was ready to do my nails by 7:13 and the experience began. From the moment I walked in, the owner (Lisa) was very sweet and inviting, the ambience was perfect, and she was beyond accommodating and hospitable. After making me and my friend drinks and confirming our services, we sat in throne chairs while waiting to be serviced. I was pampered by Ms. Lulu for my appointment (which I suggest you make and honor, if you decide to go to Bella's) and she was awesome! She took her time with my pedicure and powder manicure, making sure everything was done neatly and to my liking and I truly appreciated that. Both ladies were interactive, kind, funny, and made me feel welcomed and a part of the Bella family. The best parts of my experience were:-being able to choose my scrub, lotion, and oil for my hands and feet (Lisa creates them at Bella's and they can be purchased as well, which I did)-having technicians who weren't rushing or impolite (which I've experienced elsewhere)-being able to select polishes that were neatly organized by color families (impressive to me because most salons group them by brand or just have colors randomly bunched together; the little things matter)-being able to enjoy my experience without feeling rushed or being "just another customer"-having services, discounts, and future events discussed with me instead of just being sent to a social media platform or website or just given a flyer-when purchasing a body scrub (which I inquired about, it wasn't pitched to me), I wasn't coerced into purchasing the most expensive one and I was given a sample of another product, which was appreciatedOverall, I LOVE this place and will definitely be a regular.
