After visiting several nail salons in the area, I have found my new nail place! I went there after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp and  I just LOVE Jewel Nails. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I have had several different people do my nails, and I have always left satisfied with my manicure. Laura gives the best pedicures! They always give you a mini back and shoulder massage while your nails are drying - a very nice touch. And around the holidays they gave out gifts to each customer - a beautiful scarf and hand cream. Made my apt two weeks in advance for an acrylic filling because I am allergic to gel... get there pick out a color only for the lady to give me the wrong one... turns out the one I wanted they were out of... then I wanted a design with rhinestones as per the pictures you see when you google them on maps... apparently they do not do those and I was told those are not their pictures... I left the salon with oddly shaped nails and acrylic not just on my nails but fingers too. Plus they charge almost twice as much as others for acrylic filling! Read Less

I was looking for a place to get a, pedicure and came to Jewel due to the great yelp reviews. I agree with the others, this place does a really solid pedicure! My sister and cousin came with e and they both got gel manicures, which they were really happy with! Will definitely go to Jewel again! Read Less

The pedicures are amazing. Just a regular pedicure is good enough. The only issue i had today was that the owner carries around fly sticks and just swaps the flies and bees. Its very gross to see. One of the lady's today got stung by a bee on her back. Mean while they keep the door open. I think they need an exterminator. Read Less

I have tried out a number of nail Salons in the Matawan area and I really like this place.  The staff is very nice, wait time is reasonable (usually not very long) and they do a very nice job.  I went there yesterday for the 3rd time and got gel fill ins and a gel pedicure and I am very happy with both.  Their pedicures are really amazing.. they spend a good time on everything including the massage and yesterday my nails came out just as nice.  I am not sure if they do fancy designs or anything but they're my go to in the area right now.  Also, there is a man that goes around and gives shoulder/back massages while you are getting your nails done which is amazing as well! First time here. Came in for a normal pedicure with gel polish. Color selection was mediocre. The nail tech made my toes a really rounded shape which I didn't really like. And then they charged me $45. I got a regular pedicure which is normally $25 but she said they charge $20 extra just for gel polish. Which I thought was a little excessive. She said they charge more because the tech has to be experienced to apply gel polish. Which doesn't make any sense and she was probably just pulling out of her a**. Love this nail salon. Olga and Myra give an amazing pedicure and spend a lot of time massaging with oil and hot stones. Tom does awesome gels and when you're almost finished he gets up and massages you while your gel is curing. I've had full hour massages that weren't as good as his 10 minute massage. The salon is ultra clean and so pleasant. The gentleman walking around massaging every so often doesn't hurt either. It's worth giving a try. I'm never unhappy there! Read Less

AMAZING!!! I just left this salon and I couldn't be happier! I am from north Jersey and had previously gone to the same nail salon for over 8 years. For the last two years I have been searching for a comparable nail salon in this area to the one back home and had no luck at all until today. I walked in and was greeted right away and from that point on was treated like royalty. I had a wonderful nail tech whose name I believe was Patty. She was wonderful and gave the longest most amazing leg and foot massage. As my nails were drying the male owner gave me an incredible little back massage. Clean and professional. Great manicures and waxes. You get massages throughout the manicure and drying time. The pedicure has extras like hot stone massage and paragon treatment (which is included). Everyone is very friendly and make you feel welcome. The owner even gives gifts of jewelry in the summer and cozy gloves and hats in the winter .. which is a sweet touch. Great atmosphere. Read Less

Came here today, got a gel manicure and 2 nails are already chipping!? Very cramped, had an appointment for 11 they took me at 11:25... cost was $30 which is fare but manicure was very rushed, would never come here again. Place is dirty and very disappointing only came here because of the good reviews but places so much closer to me pay more attention to customers and overall would never come back, no one speaks English asked for horizontal lines on my nails she said ok and then did some funky design with jewels? Messages are done In the middle of the salon in front of everyone VS a private room? Place is a joke and an armature place if you want something nice do not come here. Read Less

I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend everyone and anyone to come!I called in asking if they had any availabilities today for a gel manicure and was told I could come in at any time. I came in 10-15 minutes later and was seated right away. I showed them a picture of what I wanted to achieve and the girl (who has never done nail art before from what I was told) carefully studied my hands/nails and started to strategically paint. She had a huge eye for detail and whenever she made a mistake, she started over. As she progressed with each nail, she studied the overall look to make sure that everything is proportionally even, sometimes going back to make adjustments to make sure everything's perfect and continuously asking me what I think and if I liked it. The final result was perfect. I love it! In the end, I got a gel manicure and eyebrow + lip wax which came to a total of $58. They charged an additional $10 for the nail design so it should've been $48. Overall very please and will definitely come back! Read Less

Finally found a nail place im so happy with!! I called a few days before and had no problem booking an appointment for me and my friend. Amazing service and everyone is so friendly! A little pricey but definitely worth it. I went for a fill with gel polish and it was $40. However, I got two different massages while I was sitting there getting my nails done! So relaxing and enjoyable. I get lots of compliments and I tell all my friends and coworkers about this place! I don't know why someone would go anywhere but here to get their nails done. From the second you walk in everyone is so nice. It is extremely clean and organized. I have been to a few people here and they have all done a wonderful job (I get a gel manicure and a reg pedicure). They are meticulous, they don't rush and they do a great job. The best part is when you're sitting there and all of a sudden, another worker comes and starts massaging you!! And not just a weak little back rub.. a full on back massage. You get amazing treatment here and I hope that they always continue to do so because this salon is basically heaven. You would be crazy to go anywhere else! Also, for the first time ever in a salon, I saw the worker cleaning the pedicure chair with actual fantastik heavy duty cleaner when she was done!! They keep a bottle at every chair! $25 for a pedicure that includes a scrub and massage, then another foot and leg massage with oil and lotion, hot stones!! The best mani / pedi I've ever gotten.I live in Matawan and work in NYC and I've been struggling to find a place that gives a great mani / pedi at an affordable price but I finally found my new favorite, Jewel Nails. For $49 it's the best gel mani & regular pedi I've ever gotten. They make the pedi long and enjoyable with plenty of massaging. The quality of the work they do is great, they don't rush you and make sure that your nails look great. During my manicure I get two, yes, two amazing neck massages. Excellent service and quality time and time again.I started going to Jewel nails a few months ago. Tommy does the best gel fill-ins. He is efficient and accurate. I am extremely picky, but I don't have to say anything to Tommy because he does a terrific job each time. The salon is really clean and the people are so nice! Often times, you even get a massage while you're getting your nails done. This is on top of the massage you receive at the end AND the hand/arm massage you get when your nails have dried. Where do I begin? They started off great but crashed and burned. Making an appt is done for a reason but not in Annie (the owners eyes) call it over-booking! Went many times with an appt and had to wait for almost a 1/2 hour. Then rather then seating me in a pedi chair she had one of her guys sit on the floor in front of me and start the pedi. Literally sitting under the table in front of me. I, along with alot of my friends just got so tired of being disappointed with the service every-time we went there that we finally gave up. I had come in specifically for the $55 deal. However, there was some miscommunication and I was charged $80, which was annoying because the only reason I got the pedi was for the deal. They definitely could work on their communication with customers.That being said, the man I had do my gel set was very efficient and good and the woman who did my pedi was good too. We just came back from Jewel Nails and we are so happy with their services. We've been looking for a nail salon around the area, and just couldn't find one that matched our previous salon in north Jersey. This was our third salon in the area and it was perfect. We had an appointment at 12 and my friend was seen after a few minutes, and I was seen afterward. It was very busy today and I don't mind waiting if it is excellent quality. I had John and he thanked me for waiting as soon as I sat down. He saw the color I choose for the manicure and he said he would do 3 coats because the color is light. I thought this was a great indicator for the service I was going to receive- pictures included. I will go back without hesitation and update my review if there are any changes. My friend's pedicure was "the best I've ever had." Hot stones, massage, scrub, mask and wax for heels. The woman who did her nails- Raula I think the receptionist said after I called back-was very kind and firm, but gentle. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I highly recommend Jewel Nails! This place was amazing. They let you take your time deciding colors. They take their time. Everyone was professional and so kind. It was clean and neat. The atmosphere was very relaxing with candle and oil scents. The gel manicure was perfect and pedicure was better than I've ever had before. There's nothing better than being totally pampered, and Jewel Nails has pampering down to a science!  Never have I ever been so totally relaxed and pleased with a fill-in and pedicure.  I had my pedicure first - and it was nothing short of amazing!  I had ankle surgery 2 years ago and still have pain from it.  My foot and leg have been feeling awesome since I got my pedicure last night!  Everything from the mud mask to the sugar scrub to the hot wax to the massage were nothing short of remarkable!  My fill-in was done using the SNS method, and although I was not familiar with it (I have acrylics), I was pleasantly surprised.  The technician did an impeccable job!  My nails and feet look awesome and feel great! The salon is inviting, warm, and clean -and the staff is nice and cordial.  I even got a free piece of costume jewelry for coming in (my daughter LOVES it)!There's no better compliment to a business than a follow-up visit and/or a referral: I'm giving both to Jewel Nails.  Although this place is about 22 miles south of my house, this is now my regular nail care spot!  I've told my sister and my coworkers, and I'm recommending this place to all of my fellow yelpers!  You will not be disappointed!I found the prices to be on par with other spots, but I'd gladly pay extra for the pampering I received here.
