I have been at this spa many times for manicures and pedicures with satisfactory results. Every time I had gel manicure, never regular manicure. Last time, upon completion of the pedicure, the technician told me, as I am getting into the manicure chair, that she cannot do gel manicure because I did not specify that I wanted to do gel when booking the appointment and reception did not book her enough time for gel. Incredibly, I booked an earlier appointment than I needed to accommodate the spa's request and I had waited for 25 minutes because my technician was running late. When leaving, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was with a client and a receptionist took down my number (which is already in the spa's system). The manager never bothered to call me. They give a great reflexology pedicure. They use hot stones, you get a 20 minute leg and foot massage, a leg and foot scrub, and a paraffin wax treatment for your heels on top of the usual pedicure. Ask for Anna or Romey. Relaxing atmosphere, and high quality products are used. Read Less

I would love to start by saying how nice the front desk staff is. I purchased a gift card at the Aquaspa Marlboro location and they were very helpful in answering all my questions. I was very surprised at how pretty the gift card packaging was. The girls even offered to give me a tour around the spa, which may i say, had a beautiful set up. After patronizing both the Marlboro as well as their East Brunswick location for over 2 years, I'm calling it quits! The establishment and services are second to none; however, the nickel and diming, and the rudeness of clients coupled with the lack of Management addressing it doesn't justify me dropping well over $100 every other week! There are signs all over the establishment regarding the use of cell phones and yet no one addresses the client with her phone on speaker while she gets a pedicure, or the client on the cell fighting with the ex husband...the list goes on!  I witnessed a woman who, due to a skin condition, could not use her gift certificate purchased for a massage argue with one of the owners who told her she could not use the certificate on any other service?!  Who conducts business like that!  Sorry, but Aqua Spa will not be taking any more of my money! I really love coming here :) I've gotten my nails done here a couple of times, and my nails lasted a long time and the few times I asked to do nail art, they did anything I asked them to do. Probably depends on who you have...And I just got a prenatal massage- didn't seem like a full hour but it felt extremely good and very calming with the heated table. All the staff has been extremely caring and nice to me every time I go in. And I do love the clean atmosphere of it here.I do give it 4 stars instead of 5, because I also do wish it was a few dollars cheaper as well when you compare the prices with the other nail salons. MASSAGES - We get reflexology massages when we go. The quality definitely depends on who you get. Our favorites are Kim and Ana. They take the most care for the client, and make sure not to get oil on your pants. RECEPTION - is OK -- they just asked us if we wanted an upgrade, but after received our service. We said sure since it's mother's day, but it was very awkward otherwise. WAXING - Would not recommend waxing services though. The best word to describe this place is overpriced. I'm not sure if people in this area live in a bubble and think this is the best you can get but I've been to plenty of hole in the wall Asian nail salons who are 100 times better.Typically I pay $40 for a pedicure and gel manicure. Here at Aquaspa, you will pay $75. My gel manicure had already gone to shit after 2 days. Bubbles in my nails, spots with no polish, no attention to detail. My pedicure is ok. I started to come here with my husband for couples massage. At the beginning was very good but every time we come they have different staff and all of them give the massage their own way. I really enjoyed this place. Perfect location, very clean facility and a very knowledgable staff. Upon arriving, I was greeted by two front desk receptionist who were extremely nice and welcoming. They asked for my name and everything from then on was set-- an appointment for 6 and I was seen right away. Once you get into the actual facility it's so clean, everything is so nicely decorated and just the overall appearance is above average. The esthetician was very knowledgeable. Throughout the whole facial she kept informing me what she was doing, the products she was using and all the benefits of each and everything. The only problem I had here, is that when I went to pay (with a gift card) the front desk said they could not locate the amount of money that was on the gift card, etc. which caused a hassle of trying to locate the time and date the gift card was brought and all that. After a lot of confusion and a lot of extra time wasted here things were finally sorted out and it was an error on the managements behalf. I love this place! This is my go to place. I have tried many nail salons all over and this place is by far, THE BEST! The owner, Heidi, she's very nice and friendly. I came here only because someone gave me a gift certificate. The massage was supposed to 60 mins and was only 50 and no one seemed to care when I told them. So paid $80 for a 50 minute massage. Then I go to get a mani pedi and they tried to do them at the same time?!?! Who does that? So when I go to pay and tell about the short massage and the terrible job on my nails (worst mani/pedi I've ever gotten) they say there's nothing they can do so in being upset, I forgot to use the gift card and apparently there was no one there that could do a refund. When I asked to speak with the owner she would not come out and speak with me Really needed a day to destress and am now more upset than I was before They did call the next day to refund me and apply the gift card, but when I gave her my email to send me the receipt, they never sent the receipt but instead put me on the email list. This salon advertises nail art, but Joy couldn't do a simple nautical stripe. She tried 5 times and after I said forget it, she left my gel polish lumpy and bumpy with glitter and remnants of the color she was attempting to hand draw the lines with. Horrible manicure! & no empathy from the woman manager! Clearly management doesn't know the rule of customer satisfaction being the ultimate goal.They threatened to have the cops come because I didn't approve of the technician's slipshod work and I didn't feel I should have to pay for such poor service. Being 35 weeks pregnant and not having eaten for 3 hours I wasn't going to wait to argue anymore.  I was miserable,  tired,  hungry and now crying from my treatment. I paid $56 for aquaspa to ruin my day! My girlfriend and I had an appointment scheduled for 4:30. They called and moved it until 5 because they said there wouldn't be water for the pedicures. We showed up at 4:30 and watched 6 or so people walk out with fresh pedicures and an additional 4 sitting in the chairs. I approached the girl at the front desk and voiced my opinion. She fumbled her words until I figured out that it was a bunch of crap. They should have just been honest if they overbooked appointments. Customer Service here sucks. If I could give zero stars I would. This was my first time here. I've heard about them because I use to work in a plaza couple blocks down in a day resort. I wanted to try a new place. I booked a European facial for my birthday today thinking it would be a nice treat for myself. I came in and customer service is a JOKE here: I walked to the desk - told them my name and they handed me a form to fill out. It was two young girls who most likely don't care about their jobs , or know about good Customer service no attention was given to me checking in or explanation of the place since it was my first time. Once I completed the chart I handed it to them and they jumped as if they were doing something maybe they shouldn't have Been? I sat back down- and being it was my first time here I thought they would instruct me of how things go about here. I was sitting for five minutes when one of the girls asked me if I wanted to get changed now. I said sure, she led me into a little room, smaller than a bathroom gave me a key and said whatever number on the key is my locker. Still I knew nothing ... Figuring it out myself I opened my locker and there was slippers and a robe on the bottom of them - before I got to change a lady knocked on my door and opened it up , it was my esthetician handing me a cover up to put on under my robe- I got changed and went to have a seat into the waiting room, looking at the teas no one told me about - before I got to even grab one my technician was ready and grabbed me .. We went into the room and she told me to take my robe off and have a seat on the table. I did and we began the facialDuring the facial she did not give any explanation on what was being put into my face or even a step by step. No interaction besides asking if the pressure was too much  " thank god I can handle it bc most can't and it needs to be done" Through out the facial she asked me if I had oily skin: I said yes I think. And she said she was going to use oily skin products - I said ok. No information on what products or telling me these products were an additional pricing ! During the end of my facial she turned on the light and told me facial was done. I went back to get changed noticing the facial also took off some of my eye lash extensions ( which are not cheap at all ) even though she said she would avoid my eyes at all costs and when I went up to the front desk the girls told me it was $90. I booked an $80 European facial and the technician never told me it was going to be upgraded at any time: no pricing was ever discussed. This was my first time here you would think the staff would go over everything in detail. I told the girls how I was upset this was upgraded without my knowledge. If I wanted a different facial I would have booked it. I paid the price anyways and left very upset. This was my first time - customer service was VERY unprofessional and lacked attention to new clients. And they didn't even care it was over charged: they just said oh well we're sorry. ..I'll never give aqua spa my service again. Considering I am a GM of a large men's salon and spa company in Manhattan and also worked at Avanti this has to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a spa. Read Less
