I have gone to Nail Atelier a few times and their service has been ok. They always seem rushed and every technician does things differently. None of the technicians seem to be trained on how to do massages for pedicures or manicures. Every time I get a pedicure they never remove callouses on the feet or really any of the dead skin. The polish on my toes never looks good and I find myself fixing it in a few days. The gel manicures are hit and miss. Sometimes they last a week or more but my last manicure lasted 12 hours before one of nails chipped and within two days 4 nails had chipped. I was not doing construction work or anything, just regular life. The Hispanic technicians are the best. They are diligent and the manicures from them are the ones that last. The older Asian women was the one that did my last manicure and she acted like I annoyed her being there. Her manicure lasted the 12 hours. I will not be going back and I will not recommend this salon to my friends. Read Less

This is my go-to nail salon. There's about 8 pedicure chairs and 10 manicure stations. Two of the pedicure and manicure stations are in a more secluded corner - perfect for if you want to bring your boyfriend. For the most part, I don't have to make appointments to get taken here but sometimes there is a bit of a wait. Most of the technicians are pretty good. I've had a few inconsistencies though with the gel manicures - some of them rushing through. However it varies like that at any salon and this has been the most consistent salon in the area. The pedicures also come with a hot stone massage. Read Less

At first I thought okay cheap and fast place to get a manicure. Shouldn't be too bad... you can't really mess up a simple manicure (nothing fancy- not even gel) I just need my nails shaped. The lady was a bit rough and cut me. One of the most painful manicures. She used the filer to try to cut my cuticles... when she clearly had other tools right on the table. My thumb (skin near/below my nail) is red and puffy and still hurts. That's the worst one but I have multiple cuts on skin around the bottom of my nail. Ugh. Read Less

Agree with the others, weak hot towel hand massage, place itself was not as clean as it should've been. There was a hair on my nail counter and gnats flying around. If you get a light color make sure you ask for 3 coats because my nails look eneven. The lady said it's cause my nails are wavy, which is true, but the unevenness was not cause of that. I asked her to add one more coat to some of them and those nails look great but the others not so much. When they file they keep it too angled so that the skin below your nail feels like it's getting burned. Would rather pay the same price across the river. Read Less

Key to a good manicure: get the nail polish on the nails. FAILED. I've never received such a poor quality manicure. 1) The files they were using were so old and crumbling apart that they barely worked. 2) The cuticle cutter and other tools were rusting. 3) The massage and hot towel were weak, brief, and I would have rather left sooner. 4) The OPI polish I chose was so dried out the woman had to close and reshake the bottle 4 times. 5) The nail tech clearly had little skill as she struggled to keep the polish on my only my nails. The nail polish got on my skin and despite her attempt to remove it- it stayed. As shown in the picture the overall result was disappointing. Read Less

I came here for my first gel manicure (though definitely not my first "standard" manicure) with high hopes, as everyone tells me they love gel.  I read some of the other reviews about cleanliness (I'm a bit paranoid about sterilizing tools and things like that) and saw her remove the clippers and other metal tools from the sterilization packet.  I ended up zoning out a bit because my technician didn't seem like much of a talker, which is totally OK as I don't need conversation to have a nice manicure.  I realized after she was about 75% through the filing that she was using a VERY used nail file, and then switched to an also very used foam file block.  I started to look around and saw every other person using the disposable green file and green foam block, but by the time I realized this was what she should have been doing she was done.  Of course, not before she somehow managed to cut one of the nail beds on my left hand with the foam block (this is what pulled me back to reality).  I'm not even sure how that is possible, but I'm so glad that I passed on the cuticle pushing/cutting if she was that rough with a file!  Of course she knew she cut me because it was bleeding - let's not be dramatic it wasn't a ton, but certainly enough to be noticeable if you are giving someone a manicure (and I also said ouch bc those little cuts always hurt the most!) but she didn't even say anything until I pointed out that she cut me.  She ended up putting nail polish remover over it at least 3-4 times, and of course it stung like crazy each time she swabbed it over the cut.  I also found out she must have filed too much of the skin around my nail on my right pinky finger too as that was also stinging each time after she would wipe it with the nail polish remover.  To make it worse she often used her dirty fingernails instead of an orange stick to pull I guess errant polish away from my nails, including where she had cut me.The manicure itself is actually pretty nice, and I'll see how it holds up over the next week or two.  If I ever go back, which is a VERY slight possibility since it is so conveniently located for me, I'll definitely go with a different person, and insist they use all the sterilized and disposable tools they should be using. I went in and had a manicure, which I was happy with. I then decided I'd go the whole hog and have a gel pedicure too. I'd already paid for the manicure so once I'd had the pedicure (which was pretty good), I paid the $45. I didn't have cash and there was no option to leave a tip when paying by credit card (as there usually is), so I guessed that the service charge was included. I had also tried to ask about a tip when I paid for the manicure as I noticed then there was no tip option in the signing bill for the credit card. The lady didn't speak a lot of English though and didn't seem to understand me (a lot of them don't understand/speak English well - this isn't a problem for me at all), as such why I assumed service was included. So, I thanked them all after paying my final bill and went to leave. As I was walking for the door I glanced back to wave again and I noticed the few girls at the till talking loudly in Mandarin and glaring at me. Thinking I'd taken the wrong receipt or had left something, I asked if everything was ok and the other woman (whom I hadn't seen before then) yelled "No tip!" at the top of her voice across a very busy salon. This was extremely rude and embarrassing. I explained I didn't have cash, that I'd tried to ask about a tip in the credit card option before but wasn't understood and as such thought service was included. I asked if there was a way I could still include a tip in my credit card and the woman said yes, then asked me (again loudly) how much I was going to pay. At this point I was not at all happy with their attitude so I suggested 14% but I was told no, 20% was what was expected! She then rang my credit card through a second time, without even asking me!! I use a foreign bank so each time I charge my card there's an extra fee for me. I was so disgusted by their attitude and bad manners. There is a right way to address this. I absolutely wanted to leave a tip (as I do in every place I purchase a service), but if they don't make it easy for customers, or have a till staff that can speak English then the manager/English speaker should politely point out that service is not included and ask if the customer would like to include a tip. I will never be going here again. Avoid unless you enjoy catty women with bad service attitudes. Read Less
