Just wanted to share my incredible experience at Chateau Gentlemen's Quarters. My husband was up in the area for business and I joined him for the trip. While we were up there there I told him that he badly need to get his hair cut so he looked sharp for his meeting. We stopped into the shop and had a seat since the barberess was busy making America beautiful cutting lots of hair off a teenage looking boy who didn't seem to want his hair cut while his mom smiled watching it happen. Once the mom told her it looked amazing she told my husband to get in the chair. She asked what he was thinking about doing but I got up and I told her I wanted it trimmed up but was open to suggestions to look great for his meeting later that day. I'm not one to usually like his hair too short but it didn't stop her from suggesting she take it a lot shorter than normal because in her opinion it would suit him better since he's got some grey that he's self-conscious about and his hair isn't quite as thick as it was when he was younger so it looked straggly being too long on top. I know my husband was nervous hearing her say to take it shorter than he's used to but she seemed very sure it would look better and after all, when a beautiful woman like Christine tells you she thinks it will look great and your wife or girlfriend agrees, there is no man alive that will tell her no! While I was initially in shock at how much hair she put on his lap with her clippers and scissors and how much she enjoyed it, I am so happy that I listened to her because he looked sharp! I haven't ever had his hair that short before but I am so glad that I told her to do it after she suggested it! Not only did I love it but everyone loves the change and the great job she did on that skin fade. So do yourself a favor, get in there today or take your husband, boyfriend or kids in there to see her today! There's no doubt she can make everyone in your family look great and gives you great keep up information about your cut (she told me I need to make sure I have him get it done every one to two weeks). So get on in to see her. I wish she worked down in Charlotte so I could sent him back to her every week like she suggested. Not sure what the person who gave a terrible review to the salon is talking about. I have been there several times and was always happy. The front desk girl could be a little more happy but other then that they are professional, always offer me coffee, tea, or other beverages. They have always accepted my credit card, I have always received a scalp message by who ever was doing the shampoo and the products are always top of the line (i know good hair products). Read Less

I have to be honest. I'm not one to write reviews after going somewhere, but I really felt I had to share my experience with this particular salon. I live in Franklin Lakes and figured this would be a convenient salon and one that offers quality service. I could not have been more disappointed with my experience at Chateau. *unhelpful/friendly front desk woman (when I made an app't on the phone the woman was great, but not the woman the day of my app't) *waited 20 minutes for my stylist who didn't even bother to introduce herself or ask my name and apologize for the wait *never once referred to me by my name the entire time *crappy shampoo-no massage in the shampoo bowl, water in the ears *aren't hairstylists supposed to be good conversationalists? not this one. *doesn't accept Amex or credit card tips *nobody offers water, tea-NOTHING. *the overall environment is very tense and snooty *the staff needs a lesson in charisma and friendliness *they are all dressed so casual they look sloppy and unprofessional *I will never go back. *they don't treat you as a valued customer. they make it feel as if they take your $ and time for granted. this is a perfect example that it doesn't matter how great of a haircut you can give because if you don't give the customer the ""experience"" they're paying for, you've lost a customer forever. don't be fooled by this place just because it was featured on the ""real housewives of nj"" trust me. not worth a penny. p.s.- it's almost 2010. it's time to invest in a website already.
