After many years of being a client, I made an appointment and got caught in traffic due to an accident on my way there. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment and during my service, I had one of the workers (who wasn't even providing my service) speak discourteously to me about having been 'late for my appointment.' This after countless years of waiting up to a half hour at a time when they were late taking me for an appointment without ever posing a complaint from me. Very sad and discouraged that an employee would treat such a valuable customer with no regard and no courtesy. Never returning and would never recommend to anyone. Read Less

Galaxy Nails is normally my preferred salon. The staff is friendly and they mostly do a great job. The 35-minute ride is usually worth it. Unfortunately that was not the case yesterday. There seemed to be some confusion regarding my appointment. Finally I was shown to a seat, got settled, and then asked to move. It seems there was a problem with the water. Moving to my second seat, I noticed there were four or five new massage chairs. I was excited to try one out. I sat down and was unpleasantly surprised to find the chair didn't work. It was jammed in a position where the roller balls were frozen and jutting into the small of my back like two giant thumbs. The chair was also way too close to the basin, so my legs were at a terrible angle. Incredibly uncomfortable! I asked about fixing the chair and the nail tech fiddled around with it a bit to no avail. I was clearly uncomfortable and annoyed, but there wasn't much to be done about it. All the other chairs were occupied. During the course of my pedicure, some of neighboring chairs started to fail. I assumed it was an electrical problem. At this point, there were several unhappy customers and the language barrier between staff and customers didn't help matters. The scrub, polish and massage were fine. My bill came to $35 and I asked for change for a twenty for a tip. The employee returned with two tens. There was no way I was leaving an almost thirty percent tip after that experience. I had to ask for two fives. On the way out, I mentioned how disappointing and uncomfortable I found the experience. A half-hearted apology was all I was offered. I left unsatisfied and annoyed, with a sore back. Oh well...I will give Galaxy another try. This is my first unpleasant experience there, so hopefully it was just an off day. Read Less

This place is absolutely terrible. Took my grandmother here for girls day out, and after they made fun of her feet in a foreign language and laughed at her I got the worst pedicure of my life complete with freezing water and getting cut all over my feet ! This place will always make time for you. They give great massages while doing nails/feet. The only complaint is that I don't believe the gel stays on that long. I've went to other nails salons and it stays on my nails longer. Other than that this place is great! Read Less

I just moved to Flemington and have been trying to find a good nail salon. This is not the place. After waiting for almost 30 minutes, I had a terrible mani pedi. She hardly filed my nails or pushed/cut my cuticles. When she did file my nails I had to ask her to fix 4 of them because they were uneven and chipped. This place deserves to be busier than it is. I found it after having a bad experience at a nearby salon (Em Nails).  They were amazing! Not many places can do a gel manicure and a pedicure at the same time.  They could! Easily and with smiles on their faces. And fast! I decided to take my mother here for pedicures as a treat for her birthday and chose this place being it was the only place I could find open on a Sunday.  We typically go to Elite Nails in Whitehouse Station which is a delight (see my Yelp review for further details if you're curious) but they are closed Sundays.First impressions when you walk in are not too promising.  I think the set up is very awkward and everything is in such close quarters that it's impossible to have a personal conversation.The person who was taking care of my mother's feet was a little rough in the beginning and she had to tell the woman to be more gentle.   Unfortunately, she didn't seem to understand until finally the person taking care of me explained to her my mom's concern.  I really can't stand language barriers when getting services done (although it is much expected in this type of environment), but putting that aside, the overall quality of service was merely mediocre.    At one point the person taking care of my feet brought to my attention that my feet were really yellow on one side and that she never saw anything like it.  Immediately, I was concerned but when I looked at the side of my foot, I didn't notice any discoloration.  It was very strange to say the least.  My mother glanced over equally confused.  Then you have all the women who are around getting their pedicures done overhearing this whole conversation and it was one of those, "Is this really happening right now?" kind of moments.  Not sure if I'd personally step foot in this place again (pardon the pun) but my mom seemed somewhat happy towards the end and at that point, that's all that truly mattered!  :) Read Less

I have been going to Galaxy nails for about 3 years and I have been very happy with the service.  I usually just walk in and someone always has time for me within a few minutes. Nina is the manager and even though I go about once every 3 weeks or a month, she always knows me when I call and greets me by name.  Everyone there is good except there was one person I just didnt click with.  When I let the manager know, she remembers and even if I walk in she will take over instead of having that particular person help me.They also have instruments they take from a sterilizer package and when I was there last week besides all of the other things they do (lotion, a massage when done) they have this hand scrub they massage in your hands.  I like that they are open Sundays and would not consider going any place else. I've been going to Galaxy on and off for about 3 years - I tend to go where it's convenient for me at that time.  I have never had a problem and I tend to be a walk in.  I have had to wait a few times but that it he nature of the beast when not making an appt.  Years ago, I had a gel that broke really, really low and although they didn't do it gladly took me for the repair because I needed the gel clipped away so I didn't start bleeding.  I was really appreciative of that.  Otherwise, I think it's clean and they are customer focused.  I give them a 4 star rating. I have been going there since they opened (2008 I think) and I have no complaints. They are always polite, professional and happy to see me. I think I may have had 1 or 2 very minor issues, but if you go back and let them know they are happy to fix whatever it is, no questions asked. I've been going to Galaxy since they opened, and have never once had any issues with my service. The pedicures last longer than most other places, and the prices are great for the service you get. The green tea spa pedicure is my favorite. Their monthly deal specials are awesome. Where else can you get a manicure, pedicure & facial or massage for under $100? Not anywhere that I've been. Went to Galaxy today for the first time and had a pedicure with extra 10 minute foot massage for $35 with Wendy. I thought the pedicure was good and the massage was excellent. The pedicure itself was well worth the price, though I will say that yes, for other $65 or $70 pedicures, I've gotten a more perfect polish application. They even throw in a bit of a shoulder/neck massage while you have your toenails drying. The space is expansive and airy and overall my experience was positive. I'll definitely return again. I went on a Saturday morning (called first and was told there was availability). I had heard great things about this place, but I was totally disappointed. I got the spa pedicure. They rushed through it, the paint on my toenails was sloppy and I had to clean it up myself afterwards (I asked them to fix it after it was dry, but they did a terrible job.) They did not wrap the heels of my feet in paraffin wax. Also everyone else who sat down at the dryers got a quick massage except for me. I won't go back. Galaxy Nails & Spa is amazing! The moment you walk in they greet you with such excitement. The spa pedicure is my favorite off of their menu. They use hot stones and exotic sea salts to exfoliate your legs and toes. And the cherry on the sundae is when they wrap the heels of your feet with hot paraffin wax- all for $25!
