Got a simple gel manicure yesterday and it looks terrible. Uneven nails, rough corners and the paint job.... globs of paint that is so messy, all over my cuticles and under the nails. Barely bothered with a top coat. And now it’s peeling and it hasn’t even been 24 hours! Just yuck. And the tech was worried about trying to sell me a pedicure. Came in to take off my gel manicure and apply new gel color. She soaked cotton ball w acetone and foiled up my nails for a few minutes...then the HORROR. She takes out one half side of school scissors and begins to scrape my gel off. With SCISSORS!!! That's just wrong. I mean what the hell kind of a salon is this? Why are you using broken scissors to scrape gel color off? Why are you scrapping it off in the first place? I really hope people don't allow for this to happen. There is a better way people!!! Not worth it at all. Went in for a refill which was advertised $25. Got my refill and had to show the tech how to file my nails. By the time I left I had no nails left and looked like I got a manicure with a thick layer of polish. Went to the register to pay and they charged me $35. The reason for the extra $10 was for my polish. Never knew I had to pay for polish. Appearance isn't everything. Even with their luxurious spa chairs and fancy gel soak pedicures it was hard to hide the fact that their technique was poor and unsanitary. My nail technician cut two of my cuticles, was unable to remove all of my previous nail polish, and answered a call during the middle of painting my nails.  I had to remind the salon to clean my blood of their nail glue bottle. Two stars for speed when I needed it, although I didn't specifically ask for it. If I had, it might explain the polish job I ended up with. When I walked in, there was no obvious spot to pick a polish color and no one at the front desk. I was told a ten minute wait and it was precisely ten minutes until they brought me to a station. I was finally given a basket of colors samples to pick from. I said I was looking for a dusty rose or mauve and got not assistance and since I was in a hurry I just picked something that seemed close. The manicure felt rushed and cursory. My nails ended up sort of round, but a bit misshapen and with pointy spots. She never cleaned under my nails after filing so I had a build up underneath that was just painted over. My cuticles are rough and barely trimmed. She also made no offer to line up the 2nd coat with the first coat on my nail bed and there is an obvious gap. When I got a spa pedicure here, it was good. They took their time and it was very relaxing. Polish was good.However, I got a clear manicure at a separate time.. the guy barely took 5 minutes to do it. Barely touched the Cuticles, NO massage, just rubbed the lotion in for 5 seconds and the nails didn't even look to be filed evenly. And it cost 15 dollars... I remind you for a clear coat, no Color. I would have given them 1 star but what changed my review was the response I got from the Owner when I told her I wasn't happy.  She gave me 5 dollars back and said next time I come, she will work with me to make sure I'm happy. I chose this place during my holidays in the US as it's close to the place I am staying at (I live in Switzerland). I have gotten various pedicures during past trips to the US - this is by far one of the best ones. I arrived with oger feet and now have soft princess feet with pretty nails. Kathy was the girl that did them and she was very friendly. The place is relatively clean, looks new, only point I would give a negative rating is the front desk lady - she barely speaks English and couldn't understand simple questions like how much does it cost, how much time will it take, etc. I understand I have an accent as English is not my first language, but that cannot have been the reason. Needed a last minute pedicure late on a Sunday and the hours here were convenient, so I stopped in. The space is large and very clean. The line the pedicure tubs with a sanitary plastic liner and use fresh equipment, which I was appreciate. Convenience and cleanliness are the reason for two stars. As for the rest of the experience, the staff were not very friendly and rushed me through. There was very little attention paid to any aspect of the pedicure. I felt I do just as good at home. While painting my toes, the staff member had it all along my skin which she proceeded to wipe away by digging her own nail around the perimeter of my toe nail. I wouldn't mind this if it didn't actually hurt while she was doing it. On top of that, the paint looked clumpy and uneven when it was all dry. This is my second time here, I love this place.  First, it is clean!  Everything is new, modern, bright, fresh.  That means a lot when one is talking about a nail salon.      My girl April is a magician - and I stumbled upon her and this salon because the place I usually go to is so packed that if you don't make an appointment a week ahead of time...you are not getting in.  Maybe it is because the place is new, but LUXE has taken me twice with no appointment.  Second time I had to wait 15 minutes for April, she was with another client, but since she is fantastic I would have waited twice as long.      They have a ton of color choices and each bottle is boxed with its own topcoat.  The standard pedicure has the spa goer soaking their feet in a citrus gel....it's thick as hell and feels great.  They take their time and you will feel like a million bucks when you eventually get up out of the chair.         I teach yoga, I take yoga...I wear open toed shoes and I have no tolerance for busted feet on men or women.  If you're going to show them, make sure they don't look like you were kicking bowling balls. Got my nails done last week by Jackie and they still look amazing! She was fast efficient and fixed the shape of my nails due to the last salon not doing them properly .. another woman also did my daughters nails (she's 3) and usually hers chips off within days but it's almost week 2 and they just began to chip! So I want to start off by saying this is the first time I have ever given a bad review. I've gone to Luxe Mani Pedi on 2 other occasions previous to my worse experience there. Each time the service gets worse and worse. They have poor customer services. Most of the ladies are rude and manager Jackie is probably the rudest. So there is no helping the staff. This salon changes the prices based upon their mood at the time. There is a language barrier with most of the techs so if they need to make any corrections they get frustrated. Going to the nail salon should be relaxing but not if you're going to Luxe Mani Pedi. I would not recommend this salon ever. Read Less

I got a Gel Manicure from Luxe and it started peeling one day after I got it done. I don't normally like to go back and complain so I let it go but within 4 days half of my nails were peeling. I went in and the person at the front desk fought me on it and said I peeled all of my nails.They finally agreed to re-do my nails but gave me the same exact nail technician. He couldn't figure out which color he used and painted my nails the wrong color. First time there today everyone is very friendly, service was good. My only issue is I specifically asked the technician to majestic sure my nails are even and the same length. Each one of them are different lengths. Decided to try this new place and didn't like the service at all. I got there a little over an hour before close and got the spa pedi wish was rushed through! Employees mopped and cleaned around me while getting my "spa" pedi - not very relaxing. I asked the nail tech to smooth my heals which he didn't do and gave me this long talk about how I should use Vaseline which was annoying. If I'm paying $40 for a pedi just give me what I ask for. The employees were all very loud and not friendly. As I was walking to get manicure I guess I walked towards the wrong area where someone just mopped. Instead of redirecting me the employees start talking and yelling in their language and I'm just looking like what? The nail tech then came and directed me where to go when the other employees could have just told me where to go instead of yelling at me! Super disappointed with this nail salon  The place was clean! I'll give them that. But other than that, I wasn't too thrilled. I just moved here from the West Coast and it's right down the street from my new home, so I thought I'd give them a shot! I came in for a Gel Manicure today. Nice and simple. The man who was helping me said little to nothing. Like, literally...grunted and pointed- no words.Anyways, while taking offf the gel I currently had on he was really rough! Cut me with the file several times and accidentally ripped my nail off causing it to bleed  I kept telling myself "pain is beauty" but in the end my nails still looked like crap. He rushed through everything, not giving the gel the accurate amount of time to dry. I have lumps in my polish, one extremely short nail ( because he ripped it off) , and a couple of nails were filed crooked. I came in with awful nails from a different salon. They were wayyyy too thick and some crooked looking. Sophie fixed them for me and did an AMAZING job!!! She is so sweet also. A lot of nail salons I've been to are very impersonal and don't talk to you at all until it's time to pay. I recommend this place! I had high hopes for this place, recently opened in a brand new shopping center. Unfortunately once inside I slowly began to get more and more disappointed. To begin with the floors and bathroom were dirty, specifically the floors. I got a regular manicure which went fine until it was time for polish. It became apparent that she did not do a good job on my cuticles and that she had little skills in polish in general.The photo below was after her numerous attempts to correct the polish, both with a nail and them a brush drenched in acetone. Even though I was getting regular polish she instructed me to put my hands in the UV gel lights "for drying".  I politely declined.From the door this place has lots of potential but unfortunately I wouldn't suggest going beyond the front door. My first time here was only average; they didn't have the gel color that I requested in stock, but since they were newly opened I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back. Plus, they're offering a 20% grand opening discount so a gel mani isn't as pricey as normal. I've gone to Lee twice and she's awesome. She did a gel manicure for me the second time I visited and did a fantastic job. I am super picky about my nails and she is very meticulous and careful. Nothing was left around my cuticle edges and it was a thin gel coat that lasted 2 weeks so that's a win-win for me. My second time seeing her I decided to get a pedicure too. Again she did a great job on my nails (I got a darker color which can be tricky sometimes) plus she did a small sparkle design. My pedicure was awesome...I get ingrown nails on my big toes and she was careful, gentle, but extremely thorough with cutting down the nail. I also love the fact that they do a paraffin wax for a mani or pedi which feels great and it's included with the price. The interior is newly remodeled and clean. They also offer you complimentary water, tea or coffee, which is also a nice perk that sets it aside from other places. I saw the other two reviews and maybe I just got lucky with a great technician, but Lee is great and I will definitely be a faithful customer. This is my new favorite place because the nail salon I went to in Philadelphia closed and I have not found a comparable salon until now! Read Less
