I had come in to APS to check it out after seeing it first opened one day on my lunch break. When I walked in it was pretty empty. The place is clean looking and nicely decorated like most nail salons in the area. I can't remember my nail tech's name but then again, she may not have even told me her name. To be honest, she looked no older than 16 and hardly spoke the entire time. I told her I wanted stilletto tips with a neutral peachy polish. She went to work and I watched TV, no conversation at all. After a while I looked down and noticed she was applying way more acrylic than I've ever seen and there were dips and valleys all along the side profile of every one of my nails. I figured perhaps she was planning on going back in and filing them down...nope. Instead, she began painting on the gel polish. She did two fingers and I had to ask her to stop and pointed out the very obvious mountains of acrylic on my nails. Of course, she seemed irritated that I dare point out an imperfection, however, she did remove the polish and file them down somewhat evenly. I’m not sure why people have given this a bad review for the massage. We (my wife and I) went in for a Swedish massage that my mom had purchased for us as a Christmas present.They where not pushy at all, and even after declining the extra enaminities they still put 100 percent into the massage. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and we will go back. Read Less

First time here and am not disappointed. I saw his place on Groupon but never gave it a shot because it had bad reviews. I was going to Empire next door and they let me know it'd be a 1-1/2 hour wait so I figured why not try a basic pedicure so I can kill some time. First walking in it was nice and slow, and all very clean- which I loved because I can be a germaphobe. They were so welcoming, and kind. They have relaxing music waiting that makes you want to just lean back and enjoy the experience. I loved it so much I paid for a manicure ahead to come back and enjoy after my Appt since I was short on time and Empire refuses to call me if I'm coming up. Definitely a great first experience! They should get zero stars ! I went with my sister for a massage and facial and the woman at the receptionist desk was very rude and condescending. She refused to use my Groupon until the owner came out and allowed me to use it. She then blamed it on "[her] English [being] not good." Finally had my first mani pedi. Took me to the ripe age of 30 to get over my ego and just get one. Went with my wife. Let me tell you fellas, it's worth it. I enjoyed the experience. Don't look at it like it's a feminine thing. It's called good hygiene. Don't get the stuff that makes your nails shiny though. Their English is poor. I made an appointment with one of the male workers and when I called to reconfirm they told me the appointment was never logged. The lady helped me find an appointment for the same day I wanted just 30 minutes later than I originally wanted. The place is ver modern and chic. It's clean and well organized. I've had many massages and this one I would say was basic. My lady was nice and very pleasant to work with. They worked a lot on my back which I loved. They just didn't do my feet enough. At the end they charged me a $6 tax they said that wasn't included in the Groupon rate. They took my Groupon with no hassle. Read Less

I was searching for a good Spa place and after finding them on Groupon, I eventually had to try them out before the coupon expired. Three days before it expired, I make an appointment for December 14. Steve was very nice and explained i needed to print my Groupon, which was on the phone.  I ended up changing my appointment at the last minute for an earlier one which was not problem. I arrived 20mins after i called & the place was more than 5 Star.  I waited for them to set up.  Annie did my pedicure ( the water was cold).  The rest of the service was amazing, the manicure was good (cold water again).  The hot towels were great.  I would say this place was 5 stars BUT due to the cold water i gave them 4stars.  I did purchase 5 more mani/pedi for an extremely low price, for pre-paying.  Next visit I will be sure to tell them all hot water ONLY.  Pros-Clean & very nice establishment-same day appointment-Full staff, newer foot & nail dyers-Many colors ( I bring my own)-Same person for pedi/maniCons- water was cold-tax charge for GrouponOwner is extremely friendly and the up-sale is done with humility and is really worth it.  I will travel the half hour across the bridge to come again, totally worth it. The place is fancy, clean and nice workers. They have CHEAP nail polish though and I always get GEL and still manage to chip or my nail comes off. I got my toes done one time and they didn't even last a week. Very disappointed but the massage there is great they put in work!!! They just need more color options and less cheap polish. Read Less

Went here today for the first and last time today with a Groupon. First issue, they asked if I had a certificate and when I showed it to them, they immediately marked it redeemed before I had anything done. Then they told me that tax wasn't included. Okay not a big deal but annoying as I've double and triple checked and there was no small print. Next, because I had gel on my nails they charged me $5 more. I've never been anywhere where they charge an extra fee to remove the gel if you are getting gel done. Next is the big issue. I watched a nail tech finish one lady, the next customer slid into the seat and the nail tech never got up. Meaning she didn't wash her hands between clients and, even more importantly, didn't get fresh tools! I watched my tech use the cuticle clippers to peal off the cover on a nail tool. A little while later she tried to use that tool on me without cleaning it! Only reason I gave two stars instead of one is the manicure was actually decent but I'll never go back. Read Less

Worst nail salon ever! Technicians do not speak or understand English. My tech did not know what she was doing, she started to put new polish on without taking off my old polish. Male tech that did my nails, did not even tell me to go to sink to wash my fingers! My nails started chipping after ONE day! I purchased a groupon that I saw online and figured I would try this new place out. I went in one day at 10am and there was not one customer in the salon and about 6 workers. I was told since I didn't have an appointment they could not help me. So I had to make an appointment for the next day. I have never heard of a nail salon that does not accept walk-ins. I went in the next day and they proceed to tell me they need to charge me tax, again I have gone to many nail salons and I have never paid tax. Overall my experience getting my nails done was average. The girl did not talk to me just did my nails. I was very disappointed that I was not able to get my nails done when I wanted to, especially since there was not one other person in there. When you consider going to this place, RUN!!!!!! I'm a Chinese myself and I'm so ASHAMED by these Chinese people who are running this massage/nail place. They are NOT professional, their techniques are NOT trained, and they just want MONEY. Their techniques were very messy. I've been to many massage places where they treat massage as an art. I DONT SUGGEST THIS PLACE. I saw this place on Groupon, I searched it on Yelp and it has 3 star out of 5, I was skeptical but I still went cuz I thought this place is cheaper---$79 for a couple massage. HOWEVER, when I got there 1) they did tax on a calculator and gave me a slip of the final price --- to avoid tax 2) when the massage just started, I asked the massagers to be tougher on both me and my boyfriend, since I have back pain and would like them to massage deeper. They said it'll be $15 EXTRA. They said that's Deep Tissue not Swedish, and if they do Swedish it'll be really soft that I wouldn't feel anything. Of all the massage places I went to, I communicate with massagers and I NEVER got charged extra. When I came out after the massage they said its $15 extra per person!!!!!! I ended up paying nearly $130 ($79+tax+tip+$15*2). I'd rather go to somewhere and pay their original price. I bought this couple massage from groupon as my gift for my boy friend's birthday. Terrible experience here, I should have known better than to go to a nail salon from Groupon. They rushed me through doung a manicure and pedicure in 45 minutes even though there was no one else there and they were open for hours.  They also did a terrible job I literally could have done it better. Got a voucher from LivingSocial for a 1 hour Swedish Massage. Since the salon is new and nearby, I thought I would try it out. The massage itself was okay, nothing to rave about. The masseuse worked out the knots on my shoulders which is exactly what I needed. I paid the extra upcharge to add hot stones to the massage as well. In terms of back massage, my spine was sore the next day and I had bruises! Neither of these things have ever happened before. The Swedish massage itself was okay, but the hot stone aspect was not worth the money. All that was done was literally rubbing stones across my body after the swedish part was done. It was not a thorough hot stone massage at all. With regards to the environment of the spa itself, I think part of a massage is the actual massage but the rest is the overall ambiance and environment. The massage bed was covered with a fleece Christmas blanket (as were the beds in each of the other rooms). No attention to detail was given to the wall decorations, as "Your Text Here" is clearly visible.
