I would give zero stars if I could. I have gel manicure  done by Danny. Horrible. Worst ever. He didn't cut around the nail at all!!!! Only after he applied the color and was ready to put the lotion I finally ask him about cutting around the nail and he said that my nails are good and don't need that. He also barely filed nails. Basically what I've got was change of color not a manicure in my opinion. And after 2 days the gel was peeling of on two of my nails!!  Avoid! Read Less

Lilly is great. A friend recommended Kay Nails, I'm so glad I went. Lilly can do any design you want. I never had my nails last as long as they do. I can get away with 3 weeks or more. I've had several disappointing experiences on Route 23, especially as it is tough to find nail salons that are open on Sundays (which tends to be my availability). I came back to Kay Nails for the 3rd time today, as they have experience and an excellent technique when applying a full gel set. Danny was very kind when I explained that I'd be traveling for three weeks and I really needed them to look good - he promised they would last for two months! They know what they're doing here - my last two sets lasted well into two weeks. I will now see how they are after three weeks, but they are strong, thin and clean lines (unlike the last place I went to, which left me with a goopy set that started falling off the day after..!) I will be back, even though they are closed on Sundays! Read Less

I came here mainly because I've been entirely disappointed by local nail salons on 23.. I was happily surprised when I came here. Kay nails is under new management, and Lilly the owner is wonderful! She is very friendly and she is very thorough. I'm someone who bites my nails and had terrible cuticles and she was still very very nice. Biggest surprise they actually give you a manicure when you ask for a gel manicure. I've never had a salon actually cut my cuticles especially WET, and they do. and no drill! very very happy here. won't go anywhere else. Read Less

I've been to this salon several times for gel fill manicures but I've noticed that next to the work stations, there are no licenses for the manicurists posted, which I've seen in other shops.  Also, I've never had the same person twice; the person I've had before doesn't even seem to even work there the next time I go in.  The last "manicure", however, did me in.  I'll never go back there.  I sat in the chair to which I was directed but there was no one there.  Eventually a young guy came in  with a cup of coffee, wearing a dirty T shirt.  He'd come in from outside and didn't bother to wash his hands before he started the gel fill.  Halfway through, a man came into the shop to talk to the manicurist, who told me he'd be back in 5 minutes.  He got up and left the shop, talking to the guy outside.  After 5 minutes or so, I asked the owner or manager what was going on and he told me that the manicurist was trying to selI his truck.  He stayed outside for another 10 minutes or so, at which point I told the owner or manager, not sure of his position, that I was leaving.   And I did. Last time I was there. It was great. I got a naile design and the guy told me that any design was possible he would work with me etc. This time he was booked I was a walk in (now i know that walk ins welcome mean then will give you to the crappy person sitting there that can't book an apointment) I said i didn't want anyone who couldn't do nail art/design I provided three pictures. I was told it would be no problem. It was time for paint and it went horribly wrong. She told me what i wanted she couldn't do, so i picked another design that i showed her..completely forgot about it and went on painting when ever she wanted. She then blamed me for the paint not drying right. Then when i settled for a horrible glitter paint I asked her to make it not lumpy and she HISST at me.....and continued painting. Then forgot to put a cover gel on it so they were all sticky, again she blamed it on me. I will never ever ever go there without an apointment with Danny or the other guy there. They just want your money and will do what ever they can to get you out the door. Read Less

I went here last week for a gel nail manicure and regular pedicure.  The gel nail manicure starting cracking and peeling by the end of the day. The pedicure top coat was bubbled and instead of correcting the problem, they just put more polish on top and then another bubbled top coat.  In all, I wasted close to $60 at this place. Read Less

I am pretty sure this place gave me a nail fungus. I received a gift cert from a friend which got me 2 pedicures. After going the second time I noticed a white spot on my one toenail when taking off my nailpolish. I thought maybe I had bumped my nail and ignored it. I never had foot fungus before and it didn't even cross my mind that it may be a fungus. As time progressed the spot got bigger and my nail started to get a little bit brittle. I got some over the counter stuff from cvs and started treating it. Now almost a year later I am using something from the doctors and still cannot get rid of this fungus. Half of my nail peeled away and it just looks awful. My insurance does not cover the pills for this and they cost about 300.00 and only have a 60% success rate so I keep putting this liquid on it and hope it eventually goes away before I lose my entire nail. I've been going to this place for the past 3 years and it is THE BEST place I ever go to. All the techs are amazing. My nails never crack or chip no matter how long over due I am. Other places don't compare. I made the mistake of going elsewhere because of my schedule and had to go back yesterday to have them fix it. If this wasn't around anymore I don't what I would do. I love, love, LOVE this place. They have the BEST pedicures, for only $20! Most places charge extra for what they do. Their nail techs are awesome, especially Lilly. I used to go to other places and my nails would lift and break all the time, now they last for weeks... even weeks after I'm overdue for an appointment! Also, they have these gel colors that they mix themselves, so your polish never, ever chips! It's AMAZING! They are very good to loyal costumers, a really nice group of people! Sometimes the wait can be a little long, and they can take a while on your nails or feet, but I think they are just doing a good, thorough job! I would recommend making an appointment. Read Less
