Totally pampered is what comes to mind about my first visit today. I had a full set and a pedicure which was by for the best pedi I've ever had. If you want a gel manicure that lasts, go to Happy Nails. I'm a nurse and a horse person so, I regularly trash my nails. Even gel manicures  from other local establishments weren't lasting more than a week. So, I went to Happy Nails in Blairstown three weeks ago and I wasn't expecting to be absolutely wowed by their work but over the past three weeks I did a 25 mile and a 50 mile horse endurance ride, numerous barn chores, stacking and loading hay plus about 37 thousand hand washes at work between patients. My nails were still perfect.I went back again today for a mani pedi and the owner put no less than seven coats of polish on my fingernails! She also reinforced a couple nail imperfections and gave a killer back massage! The massage chair for the pedicure was really nice and my toenails look great.Great place! I will never go here again!!! People are nice.... But I got a mani pedi in less than 35 minutes. She rushed my pedi and mani and the polish started bubbling. They didn't even last a full 24 hours before they started chipping. Not worth the $45 I paid. Definitely not worth what they charge.Read Less

I took my 16 year old daughter to have her nails done. We rushed the worker picked out the color and my daughter was sitting down within 3 mins get the old nail polish removed. I said to my daughter does she want that color? the work started reaching over picking more colors out. My daughter ended up with the color the worker picked out , Extremely rushedwill never go back. It is the worst place to do waxing!!! My eyebrows were not just different ( one was thinner then the other), one eyebrow has hairless gap in the middle and the lady kept saying it wasn't her fault. She offered me to use pencil to cover it up! It was really nightmare. If there was anything less then one star or negative value, I would use it. NEVER GO THERE FOR WAXING!!! Read Less

Sophias (which is now called Happy Nails) has been through 4 owners that I know of and each one has made "their" business successful.  I disagree with the previous review about the new owner.    Ester worked under the previous owner and had a very successful following of her own and then took over as owner.  She kept some of the original staff so there was really no learning curve.  Ester is very good at what she does and is also a very sweet and kind person.  She has kept her costs level with no increases.  All of my friends and neighbors still go and I have referred 4 in the last 3 months who have now become regulars.  She runs an efficient, clean and well staffed establishment and I would recommend her highly. Sophia's original was best when she brought it from Stanhope. I originally went to her when she worked over there. She was great- built up her bus in b-town and was able to stay at home. Then it changed hands. It was fine until recently when the newest one took over in Jan? I stopped going as well as a couple of friends, It just wasn't warm there any more and we didn't care for her personality. Read Less
