We are Visiting from VT . Let me tell you I am so spoiled at my original salon ! This salon was disgusting . Dirty , Dingy , and to top it off one of the workers was hacking up both her lungs and spitting in the trash can next to my boyfriend and i as we tried to enjoy our half fast poorly done pedicures.. we upgraded to the $45 pedicures to have the scrub and mask and massage . I've been to many nail salons in Nottingham City centre and also the other salon round the corner from here. They look after your nails, advise if asked, all the colours and techniques are by far the best. Never have my acrylics lasted so long! Also, rock up at close to closing time and they'll see you with no issues or feeling rushed. Already recommended to many friends! Won't be going anywhere else!! xx Read Less

My sister and I went to get our nails done here yesterday after our usual salon was too busy (we were skeptical after hearing negative reviews but wanted to try it for ourselves). After informing my sister of the price for her nails at the beginning when she asked (£25 full set, painted) they changed this as soon as they started to do them (£30), leaving us in an uncomfortable position (which happens a lot here, we have since been told). My nails were rushed and left uneven until I pointed it out which she reluctantly fixed. We found the lady rude and unhelpful, we won't be visiting again, especially with such competitive prices so locally. Disappointed. Read Less

I would neither go back, nor recommend to others. The pedicure bathwater was not near warm enough. The manicurist was rushed and vigorous. There is no foot/ankle/calf massage unless you ask for it.  Since the manicurist hardly spoke English, she did not know what I was saying, nor asking. Nothing personable about this experience. My adorable son gave me a gift certificate here for my birthday. First time I went I had a great pedicure. Went back to use the rest of my certificate.... BIG MISTAKE! I am still growing out the nails that and older, not very gentle or "Spa" like in any way basically tossed each finger aside when it was done, used an electric file and went way too deep into my nail bed.... Love this place so much. Andy is the friendliest, funniest person and always does my manicures PERFECTLY. I keep my nails as short as possible for work, so they usually look like little nubs, but he makes them look FANTASTIC. I have been a client at LA Nails for more than 15 years.  They are wonderful people who take pride in their work. Yes, the sign says "Walk-ins Welcome.  But it's best to make an appointment because they have a loyal following and are often busy.  If you are not happy with something, tell them - politely - and they will do whatever is in their power to make it right.  I was shocked at some of the comments here, so I just HAD to say something on behalf of the  lovely caring group of professionals at L A Nails!  I recommend them to ALL my friends! If I could give it 0 stars I would. I've never been compelled to write a Yelp review until I went here. HORRIBLE customer service and experience. I got a pedicure while my mother was got a manicure. Being Vietnamese, I am able to understand things that might over other customers heads. I asked for a quick hand design on my nails but the woman doing my pedicure did not because she was inexperienced. So they had me wait for over half an hour in the pedicure chair for someone else only to be ignored, until the boss yelled at her workers for having me in the massage chair for so long they were wasting her money. She constantly came around and yelled at them to hurry up. I went to my mother and told her my situation. The man doing her nails was inexperienced in what I asked for but did it out of pity. Absolutely REPULSED leaving my poorly done manicure is an understatement. The man who worked with me did not wear gloves and had the most disgusting crusty long nails. He kept using the tip of those bacteria carrying nails to sweep under my nail bed. I wanted to leave the whole time. I'm nervous that the dirt from his clearly never taken care of, dirty nails is now giving me an infection. He spent maybe 5-10 minutes with me and my nails looked like I did them myself. I have been going to LA Nails for about a year now and I will NOT go anywhere else in town. Lillian and Andy are amazing. Lillian does my nails every two weeks and she always does a great job, never have I had any complaints. I usually call ahead and they can always fit me in. Their customer service is great. I just don't understand why tourist can be so rude sometimes, if you simply enjoy your manicure and pedicure where your from than do so before you go on vacation. I use yelp quite a bit, but have never felt the need to write a review until today.  This was the most unpleasant mani/pedi experience I have ever had in my life anywhere in the  country. When I walked in I was told to follow the six year old girl to the back, who then proceeded to fill the tub.  (Child labor laws anyone?) she left me there In a spa chair that didn't recline, and was completely worn on the arms and seat cushions.  None of the tools were sanitized, there were flies everywhere and everything looked like it was at least ten years old. When the technician finally came back he gave me a manicure that lasted a whopping ten minutes. It was absolutely awful. I also never saw them clean out the bowls or sanitize them either. I had also wanted a manicure, but buffed, no polish.  He then asked me If I wanted him to do my cuticles....I'm sorry, but isn't that a normal part of any manicure? I didn't realize that cuticles were optional. I was scared he was going to mess my nails up though and I just wanted to get out, so I told him just to file and buff. He filed both hands in four minutes total, then sanded my nails, put lotion on my hands, and told me to wash off my hands because I was finished. No buffing what so ever. At that point I just wanted to run out of there so bad I didn't even say anything! I wish I could give 0 stars. This place was horrible. Not only is it somewhat dirty looking, the customer service is horrendous. I went to get a nice manicure and was absolutely disappointed. The manicure was messy and there was no understanding or courtesy when asked to clean up the nail my technician completely messed up and the nail polish all over my cuticles. Went today for a pedi and manicure and don't think I would go again. It was my 1st time here. I had a older guy who seemed bored and in a rush. He completed both in 30 minutes. He even managed to cut the cuticle on my thumb in his rush to finish. I did see Lillian (positive reviews of her here on Yelp) with a client and she seemed very nice and personable. Went here based on the good reviews and was very disappointed. The entire pedicure was rushed and lasted 15 minutes, in which the entire time the woman made it pretty clear, based on how abrupt and rough she was with me, that she wasn't happy about having to do a pedicure. The massage lasted about one minute, and she left streaks of lotion that I had to rub in myself. I don't need people to be jumping for joy when they give me a pedicure, but it would have been nice if I didn't feel like I was completely putting her out. It wasn't relaxing at all and I definitely won't be going back. Maybe it's just this one woman, or she was having a bad day, but for $25 I'm not risking it again. Read Less

I always go here while I'm away at school. They do a good job. Unlike so many other nail places they actually make conversation with you and ask you how you want your acrylic nails (what shape, how thin/thick, etc). They take their time and I always leave satisfied. Usually you don't need an appointment and they will take you as a walk in. Read Less
