Note: Photo is for nails 2 weeks grown out. Fantastic acrylic ombre / french fade / baby-boomer nails. I rarely have my nails done and was traveling in NH 2 weeks ago when I searched for the best in the best. This photo is 2 weeks later and they still look fabulous. Fingers crossed my local spot in Chicago can mimic Da Vi Nails quality and aesthetic as well as they originally executed. This was my first time at this nail salon. I went on a Saturday morning and they sat me down right away. All I wanted was a manicure & it was exactly what I wanted! I got them painted (not shellac) and they've lasted me all week!!! I work with computers all day and there are no chips or anything! I'm writing this post on Thursday and I got them done Sat morning! I came to Da Vi during the snowstorm this afternoon-I usually go to a specific salon in Dover, but was in Somersworth and figured I would try something else. I called a few salons before this one, that probably closed early because of the weather. I went to the first salon that answered because I desperately needed my nails done, but also wanted to get home ASAP. I was skeptical with the salon being in Walmart, but it was decently clean compared to many others I have seen. I believe it was the owner that did my nails, because he said he sent everyone else home. I got a regular gel manicure, and the price was good for the service provided over all. $10 cheaper to be exact compared to the salon in Dover by Shaw's. He held conversation with me and I was impressed with the amount of work he did cutting down my cuticles to perfection. He did seem in a bit of a hurry however to get my gels off, which I'm not sure why because there were no other customers! I would recommend this place-and go back-because the quality vs. price was a good balance. I felt bad that he couldn't break the cash I had on me so I could have tipped him better. Ive been here about two times. I read previous reviews about a woman whose nails became infected after her manicure. I still gave them a try. First visit i had no issues with my pedi the women who did it was great! I did although have issues with my mani. The womens children were there hovering over the table complaining along with her husband. I have my own kids and husband and i come to the nail salon to relax and have me time. That completely ruined it for me. My second visit i had the same women who did my mani last time now do my pedi. I was not thrilled abiut that. I believe it was the owner who did my mani, overall he did a great job, wasnt very gentle and not once did i see him check the length to make sure it matched up with my other hand. Long story short here i am about three weeks since getting them done and one of my fingers has an infection on the side of my nail where the acrylic meets the skin. As well as the same issue with two of my toes. Its extremly painful and i am disgusted. Ive been to many nail salons over the years and have never had this happen. After being a customer for more than a decade, and my mother was a customer for even longer than me. I hung in there as a customer, even when I had to wait more than an hour after my appointment time for service. I always tipped well because the service they provided was important to me. Set yet another appointment and again, "sorry, got to wait".  I'm moving on to a new place because if a business doesn't think their faithful customer is important, I don't want to spend my money there anymore. I got the 4 in one pedicure for 36 dollars and it was the best $$ I've ever spent. I chose 'ocean' for the scent. First a soak and scrub, and the cuticles and clipping. Then a sea salt and sugar scrub, hot towels, lotion and heavenly massage. Then hot rocks and polish. Bin did the work and she is adorable. Very nice person who didn't rush or try to skimp on anything. She did a great job. I never would have guessed the best pedicure was inside Walmart - but it is. This salon is perfect. It's disguised, as it is located in wal-mart...which is fine with me (hopefully it keeps the lines away)! Not too bad of a place and it will do again in a pinch... they DESPERATELY need something that says what each pedicure package contains. I really don't mind when my technician doesn't speak much English, but getting through the process of "what does this one include, and what about this one, and what does this one add to make it more expensive" got old real quick and I definitely settled on a cheaper pedicure and cost them money because I was tired of asking questions a detailed menu could have solved very easily. I checked their counters, signs, website, Facebook... literally nothing of theirs has any kind of description. The staff is nice enough, but don't hold appointment times. I understand I went the Saturday before Easter, but knowing this I made a very timely appointment much earlier in the day. Still, 3 walk ins were seated before me and I had to remind them 10 minutes in of my appointment time they seemed to forget about. The pedicure itself went fine. I went there back in Oct.13 2014. They do good job but i felt hulmiliated.they didn't talk to me. And they were talking vietnamese to each other. The woman (i did not get her name) who did my nails, never say a thing but i heard her talking very warm to other customers, she speaks good english... everytime she needs my other foot, she never said anything but slapped my foot to let me know she needs my other foot. I have been to this place several times, and each time I say it will be my last but always give them another shot. They are VERY busy and VERY understaffed. They give unrealistic wait times and you will also feel rushed and a burden the entire time. I go for a shellac manicure, and each time it has always taken over an hour..oh, and if I already have shellac on my nails, add an extra half an hour to that. I always start with someone who soaks my shellac off...but then leaves me with the foils on my nails for atleast thirty minutes and forgets about me. Someone else then scrapes off my shellac..then usually ANOTHER person actually gets around to doing my manicure. Horrible customer service. And just like the review below...you can't help but notice they give some customers the gold start treatment..but leave me on the back burner for when they get around to me. This place is also filthy with nail clippings all over the tables and chairs that they rarely clean up before the next customer. The customer service was lacking at first. I arrived and was told to pick a color and sit at a booth. I was told by multiple people that they would do my nails but they all started with other customers (who may have had appointments). After 20 minutes sitting in the chair I asked what the wait time would be. I was told that someone was almost done and would be right with me. Fast forward 15 more minutes and another woman started me off. Then another woman came and finished off. My nails came out fine in the end. I couldn't help notice that they were much more accommodating and polite to 'certain' demographics that came in. But overall, my nails are done so that is all I can expect. Read Less

Came here on a whim, and I will never go anywhere else again!! Don't let Walmart deter you from coming in here. All of the staff is super friendly and they do an amazing job. My gel lasts 2.5 which is the longest I've ever had since I'm very rough on my hands. This place is great! Amazing prices and they definitely don't lack in service! Read Less

Got a basic pedi, which came with a hot stone massage. It was absolutely amazing! Tina took care of me and really made my day. It felt really great on my tired feet. This salon is awesome. Very busy though. Reminds me of my old nail salon in Boston. I will definitely be back for more!! Read Less

Do not be turned off by the fact that this place is in Walmart. Went for a mani/pedi and they did a fantastic job! Very friendly staff, pay attention to details. Regular pedi consisted of a pretty long massage with hot stones! Was very impressed and will absolutely return! Read Less

Went in today at the end of the day with no appointment and managed to leave only an hour later with a great shellac manicure! Nancy did a wonderful job with my nails! Needless to say, the staff is very accommodating and I had a good experience. Much better than you would expect tucked inside Walmart! I will certainly be coming back! Read Less

This place is a dump. No idea how they got best of Portsmouth. Kept me waiting for atleast 15-20 after saying it would just be a minute. Dirty tools were used, place was dirty and the staff didn't speak a lot of English. Gross Read Less

Have been coming here for over 10 years...yes they are cheap but they are the best.Doing the acrylic nails for over 30 years and at Da Vi nails...they last over 3 weeks when I am not gardening.  I do a lot of cooking and cleaning and they last about 2-4 weeks depending on how hard I am on them.  Never had a fungus problem from here and I also have pedicures too.If you want the fancy spa treatment...you will pay over 3xs more for atmosphere and this is not your place.  If your here to get your nails and feet done quickly and cheap this is the deal.   The staff is not overly friendly...but I come here to get my nails done and hate chit chat so its great for me.  Never been disappointed.....love it here! I love it here because of the hours. On multiple occasions I have rushed in for a last-minute nail need due to some important event, and there certainly has not been enough time to fit me in but they ALWAYS fit me in and stay late. I'm so grateful for that because working full-time it's hard to plan nails around work. My nails have always come out really great and lasted for a long time. They have a really nice selection of gel colors and shape my nails just how I like them. They are very nice and if you can get over the fact that you have to go into Wal Mart to get your nails done, you'll be happy you did. Read Less

I'm visiting from out of town & the salt water does a number on my acrylic nails. I booked a same day  (weekday)appt at DaVi (in Walmart on Rt 1) and Susie was FABULOUS!! Clean & tidy place; small but certainly well-kept. The staff all seemed to get along;  jovial, friendly and were busy. Susie provided fast, experienced and friendly service. Fairly priced. I've come here twice and have been disappointed both times.I was intrigued by their cheap prices (the cheapest around) but it truly shows in the quality of their work. You get what you pay for. My latest service was a set of acrylic nails, which was $30. Within a week, they all either broke, cracked, or peeled off. I was extremely disappointed, and they refused to give me a refund. I really enjoy pedicures here!! When I ask for the water to be hot, they make it hot. The massages are longer than most especially for the regular $25 massage. They use hot stones during the regular massage which I love. I had inexperience where   nail polish chipped within a week. Generally the nail polish lasts for 4+weeks or until I get another pedi. I will never go back here. I asked for a full set. The girl tried to convince me not to get a full set after already drilling my nails because she didn't want to do the extra work. I asked for round shaped nails and she said "that look bad" she was rude and rushed through the job leaving me with thin coats of polish where I could see my nail underneath and uneven square nails. I'm new to the area, and found this place on yelp so decided to test it out. Overall, they did a nice job on my nails, and the price was reasonable. I will not go back because the place did not appear clean or sanitary. One manicurist had a serious rash all over her arms and kept scratching herself. The woman who did my nails was having a long conversation in her native tongue and pointing to/scratching her wrist, seeming to have something wrong with it. I went in on Saturday for a fill and polish change on my toes. When I got home I noticed that one of my toes had smeared onto my pants. I went back the next day to have that one re polished. When I got there, they had me sit on one of the pedicure chairs and she took off all the polish on my toes, rubbed my legs and feet again and then re polished them. I told her I only needed the one fixed and she stated "I want to make sure you're happy". WOW! I have never had that experience before.
