I visited on 3/1 at 11am- If I could I wouldn’t even give one full star. Lady rushed my nails and left me leaving with nasty looking nails and not clean at all. The shape is different on each nail. I went into Helens on Friday with a bridal party. We had scheduled an appointment and unfortunately were running late, we called to them know and they were extremely rude. We got there as fast as we could and as soon we arrived we were being yelled at to pick our colors as fast as we could because we were late. While the bride was getting her nails done she was treated so rudely, she asked to change her color and had a pile of plastic nail samples thrown down on her. I understand we were late but we were paying good money for these services and no other costumers came into the salon until towards the end of our time there so it is not like it was super busy and they needed to hurry and get us done. I have been getting my nails done for years and have never been treated so poorly I am happy I never have to go back there again. Read Less

Horrible experience. Rude greeting when I walked in, which is whatever: I can handle that if the quality is worth it. I paid sixty dollars for the most horrendous full set. I’ve gotten my nails done for 12 years and never had one break, two of these were broken the first day, one from tying my shoe. They were crooked, not filed right and altogether disappointing, especially for the ridiculous price. I’ll never go back. P.S. in response to the owner thinking I’m stupid enough to leave a review on the wrong business: sorry but no. I moved here recently and your place was the first one I went to to get my nails done. I got a gel manicure here and honestly, it's the best one I've gotten in a long time. It's very neat, non bubbling, and my cuticles look amazing. My nails grow really quickly and I'm really hard on my nails, so I always opt for something more durable. It's been a week and it still looks amazing. Im going back for a pedicure. Read Less

The shop is nice(be forewarned no posted prices). I'll give them another chance(because everyone says they are good) but my experience was not good. I had gel nail polish removed from toes and fingers. I wanted gel nail polish reapplied to toes but not fingers(I used my own Nail Envy). OMG!!! Boy-o-boy I've heard Vietnamese in other shops, but imagine 25 cats in a bag mad cos they can't get out...several times during my service. My technician was plain ole rough!!! Seemingly on purpose. She was not happy that I didn't let her use a drill on my fingers. She did one better she used a blade(after soaking for at least 30 mins in acetone)...yep a blade to scrape my fingernails. On my thumb she scraped up a 3-4 layer thick 1cm wide piece of my fingernail. She didn't apologize...I'm sure she wasn't sorry(more stuck cats). Then I was charged $75.00. got a shellac here from Helen herself a little while ago, and although the actual manicure was well done, the experience was horrible. i booked an appointment for 10am (when they opened) and showed up promptly at 10. i greeted her warmly and then i took some time picking out my nail color. she proceeded to make huffing noises and made it obvious that she wanted me to hurry up. i felt extremely rushed and when i finally decided on a color she accosted me for not showing up earlier if i was "going to take so long" and that "this is going to delay her other appointments." how does that even make sense when i took the earliest appointment? is she expecting people to walk in before the doors are even open? mind you there was no one else in the salon at this time... she did the manicure in moody silence, stopping in the middle of the service time and time again to take calls. she couldn't manage to be polite the entire time, even though i was. i will not be back. I got a manicure at Helen's Nail Salon in Keene, NH in June, 2015. I believe they use dirty tools. I also believe I got a painful, throbbing-fungal infection here. This 6 months later! Avoid! Btw- rude service too. Read Less

While my pedicure looks good, the service was atrocious, The lady barely spoke a word to me other than to bark orders. Then she left me to dry my toes nails for half an hour while she did someone else's nails. She finally came back to put on the clear top coat and left me there 20 more minutes. Got a gel/shellac manicure here on Christmas Eve and it managed to stay on for about two and a half weeks.  EXTRA BONUS - whatever gel/shellac they use peeled off my nails without tearing them up!  Very polite staff.  I was a walk-in and was seen less than 5 minutes after arriving. :) Read Less

Overall, I am such a fan of Helen's.  Reasonable prices, very clean, and I always get a great pedicure here.   I love their massaging chairs, and the ladies are all so friendly!  My pedicures here often last at least 3-4 weeks (or more).  They also have a great selection of OPI and other colors.  I'm always deciding between at least two!I have however had really mixed results around manicures.  My last Shellac manicure there lasted only about a week before chipping.  It was clear the tech doing mine was not as skilled as one or two of the other ladies.   While they all seem to universally do a great pedicure, I am only certain that Helen herself does a great mani (shellac, extensions or otherwise).   While I am overall happy with my recent full set with a shellac french manicure, there are some small technical issues (including a bubble in my acrylic).  Moving forward, I am likely to get my fills or shellac elsewhere unless I can see Helen.This is "the" place in Keene for nails, so do make an appointment (especially for weekend time slots) well in advance. I LOVE Helen's Nail salon! I live in CA now, but look forward to visiting the salon every time I'm home visiting in Keene. All of the ladies here are SO friendly, funny and sweet. Love Helen's!  The women there are very friendly and do a great job.  You can either make an appointment or go as a walk-in.  I always make an appointment because they can be pretty busy, especially if KSC is in session, then that way you obviously can get the exact time you want.  I get the shellac done on my nails and I have the french manicure done but choose a color instead of white which will run you $35.  If you do the shellac and have the nails painted fully (not just the tips) then that is $30.  They also offer pedicures (which are nice and I've combined it when doing the shellac on my fingernails), gel nails, acrylic nails, and just a manicure with regular ol' polish.  People have also stopped in before for touch-ups/fixes if a nail breaks.
