Finally get to write a review after a year. Why a year? A year ago Meiliege asked me to be a hair model for the American Wave since she knew I wanted texture to my hear as I have straight hair. You know the saying, "If you have straight hair you want curly hair, if you have curly hair you want straight hair." I'm a wash and go kind of person so the soft waves and texture was perfect. Being able to sit through the American Wave training last year I was able to first hand learn... about the product, how it works and much more. Fast forward a year later I still had some wave left and a few trims, one from Hannah at The Metrospa who is extremely friendly and informative, I was ready for another wave. I scheduled an appt with Meiliege. Even though she knew I wanted a little more curl she sat me down and consulted on the different levels of the wave. When she was done, I walked away with more curl and volume, less damage to my hair/does not have an off smell (my husband says it smells like kettlecorn) then with a "perm" I am friends with Meiliege and I could have wrote a review a year ago, but I don't believe in writing reviews for friends businesses unless I have used their service and a year ago the service was done by an instructor. I visited here while on vacation came in for a massage and mani, pedi. Heather was very welcoming, Jess did a great job on my hands and feet and Alexis gave one of the best massages I have ever had plus she makes an awesome salt scrub. The facility was nice and clean very modern and they had an array of products to try. Got a massage from Alicia. Before i went in, I was extremely sore, having lower back pain and complete full body muscle soreness. When I left I could feel a substantial difference but the real results came the next day after waking up. I awoke with no soreness or pain in my lower back. In fact, I was able to crack my back which I haven't been able to do in months because of the tightness in my back. I don't usually leave reviews but felt she was truly deserving of one. I recently had a body treatment at The Metrospa in Dover, NH. It was fantastic. Many of their treatment rooms have private showers so that you can rinse off between treatments. So amazing. Also... the whole place is beautiful. A very upscale spa with hair, nail and body services. My massage therapist was so friendly. I'd go back to see her anytime. The Metro Spa definitely did not meet our expectations. To start, if your business opens its doors at 10 am your staff should be there at 9:45 and ready to start their day at 10. The first person your clients have contact with on the phone and as they enter should be ready and WILLING to be focused on customer service. A satisfied customer will tell their family and friends and that should be the goal. The nail techs who were qualified, lovely people were more focused on c...ompleting their treatment in the time allotted by management than giving customer service that was above and beyond. Manicures and pedicures for a bridal party of 5 is going to be time consuming and if the focus is sticking to an allotted time rather than providing an excellent experience in the allotted time customer service and experience satisfaction is lost. My boss planned a pedicure party for myself and 10 or 11 of my coworker's. They did an amazing job working on all of our feet. Christine did my pedicure and she was so nice and easy to talk to and my feet look amazing! She also wasn't grossed out by all of the dead skin on the bottom of my feet which was so nice to not feel embarrassed or uncomfortable.  Very beautiful place and clean!! I love it here at the Metro Spa! Everyone is very friendly and Its a very relaxing environment! You would think that it would be so expensive because of how beautiful and luxurious it is there but it is more affordable than so many other places I have been. I definitely recommend going here! I've been going to Meiliege to have my hair done for more than 10 years.  Every time I go, she takes her time with me and gives me advice on the best hairstyle and color for me.  Before I started having her cut my hair at her salon, I used to have to go at least every 4-6 weeks to have my thick, naturally curly hair cut, but I would't wear my hair down because it would be so puffy looking.  The problem was that most hairstylists would tell me that they knew how to cut my type of hair, but they really didn't.  They would just cut my hair into layers that ended up looking like frizzy shelves!Meliege educated me on the type of curly hair I had and how she was going to cut it so that it would no longer be a frizzy mess.  I now can wear my hair down without feeling like I am going to block the sun. And, another added plus, I go every 9-10 weeks, so now I save money.  I also get rewarded for every 1000 points, which usually gives me a savings of 60-80 dollars a year. I have never felt pressured to buy products or to have my hair colored.  In fact, Meiliege knows that I color my hair at home and has even suggested the best colors for me.  The staff at the Metrospa is also super friendly and polite.My name is Lisa but I am posting this under my husband's Yelp account. A week after my hair was done by Jessica, I love it even more. So thankful to have someone who really cared about the cut, going over it an number of times to be sure it was just right. I also brought my 6 month old son and I was prepared for some eye-rolling from Jessica, who I had never met before. I have very curly hair, always on the verge of frizz, and Kalie gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. She is knowledgable and very talented, and her love of what she does clearly shows in the result. I trust her judgement and highly recommend her. The fantastic haircut was followed up with a complementary birthday facial, which was absolute heaven. Christine took the time to ask many questions beforehand, and the products she chose for my skin type were perfect - my skin felt and looked noticeably different after the facial. The spa itself is beautifully done. The atmosphere is relaxing, spotless, and the staff is very polite. Oh, and the chairs at the hair washing stations give wonderful back massages! The first time I went here I had my eyebrows done and my hair trimmed and they did a fabulous job and I had excellent service. The last time I went however I had a $40 hair treatment done and they took me to a room so that I could blow dry my own sopping wet hair. I thought this was kind of unprofessional and a little embarrassing personally. If I wanted to do my own hair I would have done it at home for free. I will likely not be coming back here. Read Less
