This is a great place to get your nails done. Jenny is absolutely the best!! She does a wonderful job each time I see her. The best thing I love about her is that she can hand paint flowers, leaves, etc & she's very artistic about it!! You must ask for her & have her do your nails. Read Less

THREE TIMES.... Three times my daughter have visited here to have services - (first visit - full set/ pedi and fill/pedi, second visit full set/ pedi and fill/pedi as well as waxing and this last time just a wax) ... each visit these were the most rude, unprofessional, snide and unkind humans we have EVER experienced! I don't like to spend a lot of time in my nail tech's chair, so this place is a dream for me!  In and out within 45 minutes and have never had a problem with my nails (in over 2 years).  They are super friendly, have a wide selection of polishes to choose from and always up on the latest trend! I walked in this nail salon today to have acrylics taken off and just a regular manicure.. I walked in and It wasn't a very friendly environment. I was not greeted and the gentlemen that works there was NOT friendly. I told him I need my acrylics taken off and he said "oh well that's extra we don't just do that it's gonna be $10" which would usually be fine but the way he approached it was very rude. Needless to say I walked out, I hate dealing with rude "professionals". I also live very close to this nail salon and I see the guy standing outside with his shirt off all the time which to me is very unprofessional. I will not be back to this salon! Read Less

I have been going to Safari Nails for 3 years and I love them. With every previous nail tech I had, I would have to go in like clockwork every 2 weeks. Now, I can go 3-4 weeks without breaking a nail. Ken is always willing to do whatever I want, from changing my nail shape (I'm generally a stiletto girl, but sometimes I want coffins) to painting them all kinds of crazy colors. I am highly disappointed in the way these nails have held up. I went to go get them done and talked with Jenny on the phone and she informed me they'd be one price, then when arriving I was told they'd be $5 more. Not a big deal but then I picked what I wanted and decided to just go with gel french tips. After just a couple days my white tips started to turn a brown color and it looked awful. Unfortunately I was out of town and wasn't able to call and complain and hopefully get them fixed. The product they use here must be a cheap one, I have never had this problem before. I shouldn't be paying $45 for nails that are going to turn brown after a few short days. I will not be returning and highly recommend none of you get white gel unless you want them to be brown shortly after. Read Less

I used too take my girlfriend and her mom there pretty regularly for at least 4 or 5 years. They were always extremely talented and efficient. Also they were flexible and forgiving. By that I mean that they never balked at me or my girlfriends little brother sitting there for however long waiting. To me, this place is mediocre. Had to try a different nail salon today since my regular nail tech is on vacation for 3 weeks. Anyone who gets their nails done can tell you how hard it is to find someone good. I made an appointment a day before and came in right on time the day of. Walked in, nobody greeted me. They looked up and stared at me, but didn't say anything. Until about 5 mins later, one of them looks up again and says hello. So I finally get someone to come help me and he seats me at this table. He worked very fast, and the results were not that great. Although he didn't cut me or anything, a few nails were slanted and totally uneven, not enough coats were done so you can see through the nail color, and the lines on the design are so uneven. My husband, who never really notices my nails, commented on how slanted some were. That's seriously saying something. I also saw a lady come in a few mins after me, also with an appointment, and they had her soaking her feet in the water for 30 mins before someone came and helped her. This place did look clean and there were plenty of chairs for pedicures and tables for the manicures. So I'm sure they can accommodate large groups. Read Less

Well. The guy that did my nails was SO rude. He was rough and impatient. The design I asked for first he said he couldn't do, but it was an airbrush design and the lady behind us got an airbrushed design so I don't know what the issue was. So i went with my second design, and he went very very fast, which at first was okay. Then I pointed out that the one nail was filed crooked, and he told me I was wrong. But I promise you, the nail was filed crooked. The designs he did by hand, they were also crooked and bumpy, but I just let that go, seeing as how it was done by hand. But then he charged me 50$. I got acrylic with a gel design. Acrylics are supposed to be 30, then 5 for a design and 5 for gel. So I thought it was supposed to be 40? Well they were crooked, and he was very rude, so he got his 50 dollars, but with no tip. And I will not be coming back here. that is for sure. Read Less

The lady was nice and did everything I asked. The job she did was rushed and now it looks sloppy and horrible. You can see the white under the chrome, looks like a child did it or maybe it was my first time doing it myself. The nails are uneven and have bumps, definitely don't recommend this place. The first time Ken did my nails, they looked amazing. The second time he did them, he charged me $10 extra for chrome gel polish and every single nail cracked. Uneven filing, and he cut my thumb with the dremmel. He has a very poor attitude the second time, which I didn't understand, as I tipped him $10 last time. I'm going to try one more time since the first time was so good. I hope he got an attitude adjustment in the last 2 weeks. Read Less

Safari Nails is across the street(ish) from my house, so I started going here out of sheer convenience. They can generally take you as a walk-in, usually with a bit of a wait, so I try to make an appointment to come in. This does not always guarantee I don't experience a wait, but it's usually 10-15 minutes if it happens.The shop seems to add new color options every so often, and it's about $40 for a gel manicure ($45 for French tips). This is a little more than I'm used to paying in Vegas, but it's not outrageous for the field. The quality of my manicure does fluctuate a little based on who is doing them -- I don't make appointments for a specific person as I'm still learning who I like, so that could partially be my fault. The younger guy and gal who sit right up front do good work, as does the woman who seems to sit in the very back. I clearly have not caught their names.This is the only nail shop I've been to in Reno/Sparks so far, so I can't accurately say where this falls in comparison to other places. It's a fine option for me, though, so maybe it will be for you, too! Read Less

Amazing nails!! Ken did a great job! So happy with with his work! I picked a picture from Pinterest for a Disney trip and he nailed it! We called them a Disney buffet  Salon was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Both Ken and Jenny are amazing artists. Never have I ever been SO happy with my nails. I always find something wrong and end up fixing them later. Not the case here! Jenny did my back fill and color change, she took her time. She didn't bombard me with the typical salon talk. Ladies you know what I'm talking about. Oh your so pretty! Do you have a boyfriend? The salon itself is stylishly decorated. There are ample pedicure chairs and nail technicians. They know their regular customers by name which is in my opinion great customer service. I will definitely be coming back and seeing Jenny. I would recommend scheduling an appointment even though they take walk ins. Especially if you want to see Jenny, she seems like a busy lady :) Read Less
