My nails are awfully uneven, my nails are all really crooked it looks retched. and the art looks like a 5 year old did it and it took her 3 HOURS. I booked the appt 3 hours before work because it never takes that long and I ended up being late to work. The lady was super nice though as well as when I called to book an appt with my normal lady they hung up when I asked for her. I go here all the time but this time just basically ruined it for me. As a local I have gotten my nails done in many places on the island. I should have stuck with my gut and gone to my original choice. I decided to go to Star since they have the room to have a big group done at once. When I booked the appointment I advised it was for a wedding. One would think since you just opened a spa in the same plaza that you would be catering to wedding groups a little more than usual. Well that was definitely not the case. No one even bothered to great ...us when we walked in and everyone had an attitude. It was like we were inconveniencing them to be there. Not one of the technicians talked to any of our group while we were getting our services. It took about 15 minutes to communicate what everyone wanted to get done. As the bride I received one of the worst gel mani and pedi I have ever gotten. They were literally chipped that night at my rehearsal dinner. One of the technicians kept hitting my sister in her arms as she was getting her mani and another covered my moms legs with a towel while she was getting her mani (after being clearly gossiped about in a different language). This experience definitely put a damper on our day as we were gearing up for all the events of the weekend. I would have imagined that it would be a relaxing experience. They didn't know everything up to date, brands of gel nails and they couldn't paint different nails different colors? All I wanted was to have a design on my ring finger on my left hand and then my middle finger painted a separate color from the rest, and then the middle finger have a design on the right and the ring painted the same as the middle on the left. So 2 colors and a design on one finger the desing forget it period, but they still couldn't figure out what to do whe...n I said ok then just do grey on 3 black on the ring of one hand and middle of the other and just glitter on the opposite middle and ring... I even drew a diagram! Then the nails them self weren't level, like the thickness...so one one side of one nail would be really thin and the other side would be supper thick and chunky. I've visited both the Middletown and Bristol locations and the whole experience is very hit or miss. I've had great experiences, but also really bad ones. My first time in Bristol today and they sat my daughter and I in pedi chairs and just left us there, then the individual who did my pedicure was rather unfriendly and actually seemed annoyed at the condition of my feet. The polish job he gave me I'm fairly certain my eight year old could have managed. After asking for my finger nails to be cut very little they ended up filed down very short. Overall a really disappointing experience for me. I will say the woman who did my daughter's nails was very sweet and did a great job. So...the place is just super inconsistent even across one visit. So I have been going to this specific regal nails for 7 years. For the most part the staff is friendly and Sonny is awesome. 99% of the time they do a great job. But God forbid they make a mistake you ask them to fix. The women become rude. They will mistreat you and they become demeaning. Sonny on the other hand will take care of it no problem. Twice in 7 years I have had an issue. The first time I thought the behavior exhibited was just a fluke. After it happened the second time by another staff member I have decided to find another place to get my nails done. I have since found Beyond Nails across the street where Ross is. I will always always go here, if I try and go somewhere else I'm disappointed. I'm picky when it comes to my pedicure and Sunny always does the best job. He knows me now and I can count on the best pedicure. Sometimes when I go last minute and forget to make an appointment they are super busy and can't fit me in. Absolutely amazing. Super fast service, everything they used was spotless. Prices may seem a little high but for the service you get, it is WELL worth it. The service has gotten worse, the nail polish doesn't last on your toes or nails even the gel nail polish is off in 1 day. Now they are charging extra for nail polish that stays a little longer. Last time I was here my pedi polish was off that same week and my gel was off some nails the next day. If it wasn't for my husband getting me a gift certificate for here I would of not returned. At 3pm on a Thursday, I dropped in for a gel/manicure. I was seen almost immediately after I arrived (about 1 minute later). I don't get my nails done often, so Sunny had his work cut out for him. He soaked my hands, gently cut back my horrendous cuticles, and so carefully painted my nails with this gorgeous red color. I actually changed my mind on the color mid-manicure and he patiently obliged. I was very impressed with his steady hand, meticulous brush techniques, and how gently he was on each finger. He finished my nails with some cuticle oil and a nice hand massage. I am so ecstatic to have had my nails done by him; he has a loyal customer in me! My husband loves them too! I will never return to this place this was my first and last time. I needed a simple fix and fill. I had a gift certificate so I said why not. I was told the wait would be 1/2 hour, didn't think that was bad for a Sunday so I signed in and waited. I had been waiting for an hour so I got up to look at the list because they took 3 people back before me. I knew I wasn't that far down on the list. As I discoverd, they never even crossed off anyone's name on the list. On the spur of the moment, I got a full gel set at the salon in Wal-Mart today. I'm pleased with the end result, and their prices seem standard for the average nail salon. The atmosphere was on the impersonal side, though. I never saw a smile from any of the manicurists, and instead of being friendly with their clients, they spoke to each other in their native tongue. I felt like I was being rushed through an assembly line, which was a little difficult for me since this was my first manicure ever. However, they were very busy and some of the customers appeared to be repeat clients, so I assume the manicurists know how to do the job.Bottom line: it's what you'd expect from a salon stuck in the middle of a busy Wal-Mart Supercenter. My nails look beautiful, and if you're in a hurry and want to get in and out (even without an appointment), this is a good place to go. But if you like to take your time and be pampered, and chat with your manicurist and get to know him or her, then you'd probably want to go to a regular salon. Read Less
