Spending an hour and a half there for my nails to come out looking this awful is just unacceptable. I paid $45. My nails are all different shapes and the sizes. They are lumpy and just ugly. Went to get my nails done today and it was horrible. Had an appointment set for 1:30 p.m. and wasn't seen until 2:20 p.m. for a pedicure. Offered no discount or upgrade to make it right, only saving grace was the sweet nail tech who did my pedicure. Other than that I was very disappointed. And a lady named Kim had the nerve to continue to try pushing products to buy down my throat. You tell her not interested and she goes and pushes ANOTHER product down my throat! When in there twice first time on a Thursday and even though they are over priced compared To others nail salons in Reno, NV. I really like how one Korean tech does nails there. i have been doing my nails for over 20 years and tried many nail salons. The reason I tried going here again is because is so close to where I live at. I went in as a walk in had no luck. Got scheduled for 1:30 on a Sat. I went here for an impromptu pedi with girlfriends. I give this place two stars because of their nail service. 1. Able to squeeze us in. 2. The technicians were friendly the whole time. Other than that, the rest of the visit was just okay. The front desk person had a horrible attitude. My friend wanted a French tip pedicure, the lady didn't know how to do them! Which is confusing. I never heard anyone say they didn't know how to do those. :/ my friend got it anyway because that's what she wanted. My other friend and I had a nice pedicure, but after we out our toes under the fan or whatever it was under the table, the next day, my pedicure was bumpy. I'm guessing it came from when we dried our toes. My friend who joined me didn't have anything wrong with hers. So that was a bummer. Back to my friend who got the French tips. She asked me to look at them. I did and was honest. It looked like a 13 year old did it. The lines weren't clean, there was parts where it wasn't totally coated with the white nail paint. Later that day, my friend called back and told the front desk rep.  The salon replied to her request saying that she needed to go back to the same girl that did her toes... (Well that didn't make sense since it would still look the same). She went back to get them redone the next day. When she got there convinced them to let her have someone else fix it. At the end, they tried to charge her $15 for her repair since it was a different girl.. she didn't have any of that. That was stupid. This is the first time I got acrylics, and I was terrified because of the mixed reviews. And it was totally worth it! My nail tech was Lindsey. She is wonderful. She was very friendly and sociable. The only thing that turned me off about Lucky Nails, no one greeted me when I walked in. And I booked in an appointment with Sara, but she ain't there. Just glad Lindsey did a great job! Read Less

If I could give this place absolutely NO stars, I would. My mom went into this salon, asking for a simple glitter design with a flower on her toes. they told her they couldn't do it so she said fine, she would look up another one. They then told her they were able to do the second one and it was the most shitty work I've ever seen in my life! The worst part is the girl who did her nails KNEW she did a shitty job and wanted to cry but didn't offer to fix them or even charge her less. My mom was charged $70 dollars for the crappiest fucking pedicure of her life. It seriously look like a two year old just splattered nail polish on. NEVER EVER would recommend this place to anyone. I have naturally strong long nails and they filed them to the point that not only can you see through them but the lady said they were all going to break, all because she didn't want to wait to let the alcohol do its job and soften the Shilac.        -_- I'd say I'm pretty pissed off right now. This review is for Teresa. I'll say it once, I'll say it twice and I'll say it a third time  for good measure.... Teresa-Teresa-Teresa. I am a stickler for shape... I usually stick with almond/stiletto cuz they are easier to get right. But I love coffin cut.... no one has ever gotten coffin cut right on me.... except Teresa. When she does it, they are perfect, nice straight sharp flat tips with perfectly sloped sides. I often like really fancy designs, but she does such a great job with the shape that I like to do a soft muted tone to show off the shape. She is the bomb... also, nice smooth grow out. She is solid. I have tried numerous nail salons in the Sparks area. Finally, I found Lucky Star (based on a recommendation) and went to see Kim. She did EXACTLY what I asked for and then some! I just wanted natural-looking acrylic nails done nicely - I have said this to every salon and only Kim has delivered when she said, "I know exactly what you want."She freehanded the design on my nails as well and did a lovely job. She owns the salon, is no-nonsense, quick, highly skilled and communicates well but is not gabby. I will be going back instead of (again) looking for another salon. As an aside, she has a liquor license so if you want to enjoy a little happy hour you can. I can't recommend anyone else there but I will definitely be using Kim from now on. Read Less

Hostess was friendly and inviting, attentive, accommodating. The location was convinient for me but it was loud (every seat was full) and my nails are horrendous. I camr with a very simple pink and white design but was told my tech couldnt do it and Id have to find something else. Tech never spoke to me except to ask about length or color and treated me like an inconvenience. I changed to a white and gold design to simplify process for her, tell me how I ended up with stubby, thick, uneven, pink and silver nails and bleeding cuticles (oh yeah like full on blood and shen she decided to apply an alcohol swab to it to stop the bleeding.. relaxing) Oh and I paid $55 for them.I didnt listen to the Yelp reviews and gave this place a shot anyway and I paid a high price for a mediocre nail job and shotty customer service. At best this is an overpriced bar where they just so happen to do nails. Never again. Read Less

Super disappointed, got my nails done there today, and they look horrible, they are all lumpy, they don't even have a good shape..they put the acrylic over my nail cuticle.. looks like they are barely learning.   They are soo horrible that I went to Walmart to buy acetone to remove them.  after paying $45. Went in for a gel manicure with a friend who is getting married. Her nail artist came down with the flu and had to cancel. The salon hustled to get her with someone who could fix her full set of gel and still keep her on time for her pedicure.  I had one of the Sarah's and my friend had the other. I love my gel manicure! Sarah was gentle, thorough and such a sweetheart. Only thing I would have done differently was offer water, and have a towel between my hands and the table top. No stars knocked for that though because Sarah did a beautiful job and got me in and out in 30 minutes despite the staff change for my friend. Read Less

GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Unprofessional, rude, and sloppy. I went in for gel polish on my hands, with French tip, very uneven. They look terrible. I also had a polish change for my toes with French tip. Both incredibly sloppy. I paid $42 for both, $30 for gel and $12 for toes, a complete waste of money! Sarah did my nails and she had a terrible attitude and rushed when the salon was empty. I LOVE getting my nails done at Lucky Star!!!!! Kim and all of the folks there are artists! I have had my nails done at many different places and know a good nail salon when I find one. These guys are the best. At the holidays I had them put tinsel in my hair and I had soooo many compliments on it. I want to get feathers put in my hair next! They always are up on the latest fun stuff at this salon. I am really looking forward to my next pedicure!!! My last manicure I wanted something really special on my nails to look like tropical water because I can;t get away on vacation right now...and Kim made it happen...my nails are AWESOME!
