I give this salon 5 stars because the best hair designer Extrodinare in Reno works there...Linda! Not kidding I've lived in San Francisco for 6 years and could not find a better stylist. I started going to her in 2006ish from a recommendation as she had just moved to Reno and I lived here for University. I've done so many things to my hair over the years and she has always been game and done a remarkable job on taking my vision and making it happen! Even when I needed a bit of fine tuning to get the result. Let's just say afterMoving back to the area I'm thrilled to go back and have a bit of fun with a new look! The location is central to Reno in the old southwest area on the corner of Plumas and Plumb. Always enough parking. My sister-in-law also sees a nail technician that does a really fantastic job. Lovely Amalia Rauch transformed my hair into a fresh new cut and color that looks great and is lower maintenence.  A lot of times going from long hair to short is a shock, but I have no regrets!  It's exactly what I wanted and Amalia takes the time to really find out what your expectations are and then tells you her plan of action.  Nice aromatherapy hot towel (she will check to see if you are ok with it first) with the shampoo and nice scalp massage.  She gives a lot of helpful styling tips too.  She's great, look forward to seeing her in a few months. I came in the other day for a long awaited hair cut and color.  I saw Amalia and she is awesome!!! I literally never had a hairdresser who could give me 100% what I wanted but she nailed it! She was also really nice and friendly making it the best hair appointment ever! Read Less

I had an appointment today at salon glow I was so nervous because the previous salon I used to go to were bad and I thought that this one was going to be bad too but when Jamie finished my hair my hair was amazing the blue ombré color are so beautiful I'm so in love with my hat I can't wait to go to retouch it Read Less

This is the third salon I've been to in Reno because I haven't been happy with the previous ones. It was my first time in to Salon Glow and Amalia cut my hair. All the staff were very friendly over the phone and in person. Amalia did such a great job! I love my haircut! I am definitely going back for more. Read Less

Today I called Salon Glow in hopes that they could fit me in for a haircut. The co-owner Kathy answered the phone and was super sweet and went around to ask if anyone could fit me in. She let me know that Chrisella could fit me in and to just come on down. Besides the difficulty in finding the salon, everything was perfect. Chrisella was so sweet and personable. I hadn't had a haircut in a while, so it was really long. She didn't want to cut it too short, so she kept asking for my feedback and cutting a little more. I swear she cut my hair about three times by the time we were done. I could tell that she really just wanted me to be satisfied with my haircut, and I am. This was the best 1st experience I've ever had at a salon and highly recommend Salon Glow and Chrisella Norman. :) Read Less

Mary, the aesthetician, has been waxing my eyebrows for a little over 2 years now and she does such a wonderful job! I was nervous when I first went in because I had not had good experiences with other people not listening to what I wanted and over plucking/waxing my eyebrows. Mary was the first one that actually listened to me! I've also gone to her for facials (which were also awesome and very relaxing) and had my hair done by some of the other professionals in the salon and had very good experiences with everyone. Definitely my favorite place! On a side note, they also sell bare minerals makeup which I only use now since it doesn't irritate my skin like other products have.Read Less
