Went there today to treat myself with a gel mani and a pedi. The water for my foot soak was lukewarm, then he sprayed HOT water directly on my feet. Trimmed toenails and cuticles and pulled on a piece of skin so hard I flinched and thought I was bleeding. I have fat bubbles in my toe polish and the topcoat is uneven. “Massage” was basically like vaguely rubbing lotion into my legs. Didn’t soak my hands at all before trimming cuticles and a couple of them literally bled a little. I asked for round nails and he made them square. I asked him to round them again and he just kind of softened the corners but no real shaping to speak of, and all different lengths. Rushed through the gel polish so it has bubbles, and the topcoat isn’t even all the way over the nail. I had to go back in after I looked at them in my car to ask to have 3 of my nails fixed because there were literally lines about 2/3 across the nail where the top coat ended and big blobs of it at the ends of the nails. He looked at me grumpily, filed them briefly and slapped more on, then proceeded to scrape some of it back off by bumping it with the UV light and didn’t fix it. I literally went home and took my own file and filed out the edges and shaped them the way I wanted. I can’t believe I paid $60 in total to be there less than 50 minutes for gel mani and pedi and have to fix it myself. Miss my old salon in Vegas that took their time, treated me right and actually cared about their work. I’ll be looking elsewhere when it’s time for a polish change. Read Less

I was disappointed about the service I received. Very unprofessional technician that does her job half way and rushed. Nail polish was all over my skin and VERY sloppy. Litterally burned my skin and my husbands. He has Burns and Blisters all over his ankles. I used to get amazing pedicures here. I will NEVER go back. I have had some bad pedicures but to burn me AND my husband both should be a big warning! Read Less

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME! Absolute worst customer service. They did a horrible job on my nails. They came out so uneven and rough. When I complained they told me it was the oil they put on so I went to the sink and washed my hands..that didn't work then they tried to tell me it's the color I picked..the color that they provided. When I complained after being there for almost two hours the manager screamed at me and kept saying it was the color I picked. I don't understand how color could effect the roughness of the top of the nails. They were just making excuses for they're lack of skill and it was disgusting how the manager spoke to me. You can clearly see in the photos how uneven the nails are. I had to ask 3 times to makes them all the same length. You can see how rough and all the ridges on top of the nails. This is my first review that's not 5-stars. My experience today at Ocean Nails was exceptionally bad. There are many great nail establishments in Reno. I do not recommend this one. This will be my last visit to Ocean Nails. I paid $65 for a pedicure that looks like it was done by a 5 year old. Upon checking out at the end, the cashier asked me how everything was. I told her everything was good except the polish which looks rather sloppy. The cashier agreed with me and said that it didn't look very good, then went and got the manager and told him what was going on. The manager looked at my nails and proceeded to argue with me telling me it looks amazing and that it's a "design." I'm sorry, but no one would pay to have their nails done by a professional and have the end result look like this. I attempted to explain to the manager why I thought the polish looked bad and he continued to argue with me. Rather than continuing to argue with an adult male about nail polish, I decided to pay and leave, and I will never return. Thanks, but no thanks, for the bloody looking $65 toes, Ocean Nails. I was happy with the overall service. I had a super conversation with the front desk person who set me up in the tub. She took the polish off of my toes that I had on and then she said Jade would be right with me. That was the only pleasant part of the service overall. Jade did a great job. I am definitely a fan of Ocean Spa and Nails. I am not one who frequents a nail salon but when I need a manicure this is where I go.I called ahead for my last visit and asked how long the wait was. When the receptionist replied there was no wait, I got in the car immediately.Once we arrived, the wife had time to pick out a polish color before being taken back for her pedicure and I waited only a few minutes before being seated at a manicure station. My manicure is quick and easy since I only get clear polish (or no polish). This time I opted for clear polish to help reinforce my nails which are fairly easy to rip or break. The manicure was quick and the massaging of the fingers and palm felt wonderful. I sat for a few minutes to let the nail polish dry and then went back to the lobby to wait. My wife was finished with her pedicure a bit after and sat under the UV curing light table in the front while I paid.We wound up realized I was charged an additional $5 due to a miscommunication over the type of pedicure my wife received. Since both the techs were so great we just kept the $5 additional charge and added it to the amount we already tipped.I love that on most days you can walk in and be taken care of shortly. They have so many stations it's wonderful.Also, the pedicure chairs are those wonderful massage chairs so they make the pedicure experience even more relaxing. Read Less

This was my second time there, I should have learned from the first time there but I like to give companies a second chance. It's like an assembly line on who can get you done the fastest and move on to the next customer. My pedicure took less than 30 min. and he was so fast that the polish was not painted in all the way down and on the sides of my toes and it was carrying over onto my skin. He would put nail polish remover on his fingers instead of a brush to TRY and get the excess off my skin. Not a third chance happening here! Read Less

My best friend & I just had a pedicure here this morning. I have been here a few times before and every time, it has been a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is calming and peaceful (complete with large aquariums) and the staff are so nice!! They are efficient & good at their jobs. Always asking if I'm comfortable and I have super sensitive skin and she made sure I had no problems, everything is so clean and everyone is super friendly. This is my third visit to MiniLuxe and I was very pleased until today. I have a very hectic work schedule and when I schedule an appointment, I expect that my time will be respected and that I would be seen on time. After they called me to cancel my previous appointment, I had to move my schedule around to fit the appointment today. When I show up to my appointment, I am informed that I would have to wait a minimum of 30 minutes. I understand things happen, but for the price that I am paying and the fact that I had to change my schedule to fit this appointment , this is completely unacceptable. It was very nice in there. Clean and whatnot. But the first time I went I was a walk in (which it says u can be). The first girl I talked to said I was going to have to wait almost 2 hours, but there was literally 1 lady who walked in right before me, no one else. I get having to wait, but dont say you take walk-ins if you are putting me an appointment spot. Just say its appointment only. Another girl there overheard and said they could do it in 30 minutes. Ok, that sounds mo...re reasonable. I sat down and about 1/2 way through began asking about prices, being that my first time there was free... the girl had no idea and neither did the other girls! I said I would go back just for a polish change because I didnt want to pay a redicoulous price for a manicure that was listed on their cards. The lady I had kept asking other people how to you the "specialty" polish that they have. The one that is supposed to stay on for 14 days. She didnt know it needed a bottom coat, the lady next to her had to tell her that when she almost put the polish on. No training prior to opening??? Well, it was chipping away after 2 days, no surprise really... Dont recommend it if you have to use you hands for work. I made an appointment to go back in 2 weeks, and I made it with a girl I knew that worked there, which was really the only reason I was going back. They messed up my appointment and put me with someone else, saying that I never booked it with the girl I know... really?! They were very confused both times. Tried giving me a full manicure and charge me for that when all I requested and got was a polish change. And then still tried to charge me a different price than what they told me the first day. I wish I found them sooner! I had no appointment and walked in on a Saturday and had to wait about 10 mins to be helped. In the mean time they gave me all of the color swatches to choose from and it kept me occupied. The shop is very clean, nice and quiet. Its unlike the other nail shops in the area where the ladies working there are really loud and chatty and shouting across the room at each other (which I can't stand). My tech was sweet, quiet lady and she did a great job on my pedicure. The other lady did my nails and she took her time and did not rush at all. She was sweet and also made for a good conversstion about our kids. I will definitely be back, next time I will make an appointment. Read Less
