After a crazy run in with my dog and his leash, I had broken a nail on the drive up to Reno for a wedding. I quickly had to find a place to get it repaired, so I hopped on yelp and found this place. The staff was very kind and attentive which I really appreciate. I also appreciate that the prices were not sky high and they were very reasonable!  I had Tammy as my nail tech, and she was sooo kind and sweet. She took her time and did an excellent job. After my nails were done, she knew that I had to wait for my boyfriend to come and pick me up so she told me to make myself at home and sit in one of the awesome massage chairs until he arrived. The old owner and her workers were great at what they did. Once the new owner took over I got one gel mani and never went back. I made an appointment close to closing time and they said it would be fine... I get there and the lady completely rushed my nails. I asked the tech for glitter powder in the beginning of the appointment and she forgot before putting the gel over my tips. So instead of drilling them down to start with them thin like you're supposed to, she just put the glitter over the gel and sealed it with more gel on top! My nails were so thick it was gross! And even worse, the final layer of gel was extremely lumpy and extremely uneven. Also, I asked for an almond shape and I swear every single nail had a different length and shape. Went here for the first time since my regular nail tech is still on vacation. I really like how open the space is. Very spacious! Tammy did my nails. I got a fill and color change. She did well in regards to the nail length, but to me, another coat of polish would've helped because you can still kind of see through the polish. The shape on the nails were fine, but the thumbs were curved and not squared off. Tammy was very friendly and I loved talking to her! Another downside though is the salon is right next to a taekwondo place and they were very loud and you can clearly hear them. So if you were there to relax and get a pedi, I can see how that can be annoying. Prices are reasonable and design on two different nails is included in the price. I came here because my friend who normally does my nails was out of town (and I needed a new set). I had an appointment at 3, and when I walked in the salon it was very nice. It was spacious and they had a good color scheme (very Taupe-fave color!). Their services were on the pricier side ($45 for gel full set), but I realized that their gel technique isn't like most around town. Usually for gel, salons use acrylic to build the nail and then use gel polish. However this salon used IBD gel builder, which is specialized gel (costs more-makes sense). The technicians were very nice, and it took around an hour. I asked for the student discount and they charged me $40 instead of $45. Read Less

They couldn't even do that......Why because the appointment they were waiting for..... whom was already 10 minutes late! She was still waiting for her. So she decline to give me service. I use to love this place! It use to be great never ever have a bad experience. Yesterday I got a pedicure and it was horrendous and not worth the $45! I'm 9 months pregnant and went home polish was already chipped I had to take it off and try to repaint them. Heard under new ownership hope they figure things out but I will no longer be going back. Had another horrible experience here this past weekend. Had a nail technician who continuously tried to convince me to get a gail manicure even after telling her 5x I just wanted a regular manicure. She then poorly completed a pedicure, manicure and eye brow wax in less than 40 min and barely filed my nails, missed half of my nail beds and messed up the painting on multiple toe's, and after I mentioned she had missed the left side of most of my toes nails she just slopped on another coat causing them all to smudge and look even more uneven and not shiny. I wrote to the business to hopefully get some sort of a response from the owner and nothing. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

This is my second time coming here. You can't beat the price and they are willing to do a lot of fun designs. I came in with a triangle design which she executed very well on one hand. There was a plan for an extra design on one nail but she said she did not have time, I would have paid to get the design but oh well. Also one the other had the design was the same but one finger off making it weird but stillCute (I did not ask for this nor was it asked). As well she did not ask how long I wanted my nails, just made them short. Overall I am impressed with my nails but disappointed with the lack of attention to detail. I don't like to give bad reviews unless it is deserved. I went to this salon and the young girl who did my nails was no better than a beauty school student. she took a little over an hour to do new gel nails. She had to keep filing the color off and trim the nails down to almost nothing because they were so lumpy and uneven. I tipped her 5 only cause I felt so sorry for her cause it's clear she is not going to do well in this field.  Today is only day 3 and the color is chipping off now. Regretting tipping her. I came in here with mom while she was visiting a couple of months ago. I had a newbie do my pedicure and she took her cues from the woman who did my mom's pedicure.  My mom and I both walked away feeling that we didn't get a good scrub on our feet, like we have experienced elsewhere. The quality of my gel manicure was flawless! The only my issue with the manicure was that they were a out 20mins from closing and didn't put any lotion on my hands or massage them like most places do. So I left with dry hands. I figured it was because they were rushing. When it came to the pedicure, that too was rushed and the nail polish chipped within a couple hours despite me being careful not to nick them. The pumicing of the feet was very weak which was unfortunately since I have very dry feet. They didn't massage my feet or put lotion on them either. I've gotten a fairly good pedicure from them in the past but it still wasn't the best. This experience made me decide to not give them a third chance. Read Less

I decided to try this place as they are open on Sunday and I was in desperate need of a manicure. I walked in without an appointment and was told it would be 10 minutes. Not a problem. 20 minutes later I was still sitting as people around me, who had appointments, were getting up and leaving due to the wait. It was a total of 30 minutes before someone took me to a seat. My fingers were filed along with my nails so they were already irritated when they were wrapped in acetone... to remove my previous gel color. I sat there for so long waiting for someone to come over my hands started stinging. I took the wraps off myself. When someone finally came over to do my nails, they broke one removing the gel and did a terrible job shaping my nails. I was there a grand total of 2.5 hours for a terrible job and irritated skin. What a beautiful nail salon ! I discovered Maggie around 10 years ago and do not let anyone else do my nails since. I love the way she takes her time -- she is a perfectionist. Since my stroke, I cannot cut my toenails so I enjoy pedicures, too. I cannot wait for my appointment to try the Expresso Martini Pedicure. Had mani/pedi with Vicky! Very knowledgeable and helped me choose pedicure so I had Espresso Martini Pedicure. Ahhhh...so relaxing. Chair Massage and soothing salon music couldn't be better and I needed some "me" time. Vicky also helped me spice up my feet with a blue turquoise polish and a red rose pink for my hands. ( and to think I picked blah beiges before her help. She had the color on her toes so as it turned out the customer next to me picked it as well for her pedi!) I had a wonderful 1st time experience at the new salon in town, Calming Lotus Nails. Maggie has done a FANTASTIC job renovating that old building store and mixed the old with the new. So many pedicure chairs, manicure stations and waxing rooms. And Maggie is adorable, to boot. I had Lena do my nails today and have requested her again on my next visit. She took her time and did a fantastic job on my acrylic nails. And she did an eyebrow wax as well that was perfect! As she said, there are many many choices there at the salon - not just your basic mani/pedil. Stopped in to get a quick pedicure while the rest of my group shot rounds at the gun shop next store. Upon entering this spacious and minimally decorated salon I was struck by how clean and new it seemed. There were a few customers and I was told I had about 10 minutes to wait.About 10 minutes later I had a spa pedicure with one color that cost me $30. I should have gone with my old standby pink and whites, but was trying to save time in case the guys finished up before me. Though the girl did a great job and was attentive and polite, as soon as I walked out of there I messed up my right big toe lightly brushing it getting into the car. I did wait a good 15 minutes after she was done to allow everything to dry, and she did spray them with a finisher for good measure right before I left. This did not help, unfortunately. My other big toe smudged badly over two hours later, which made the whole thing feel like a big waste of money except for the fact that it was a nice relaxing hour I didn't have to spend at the gun shop.They seem to have their regulars here, so I'm sure this was just a one-off problem. Three stars for the lovely clean atmosphere and nice staff, but I am still annoyed at my smudged big toes. Read Less
