Don't come here. Rudest woman I've ever met and terrible energy. I came in here to get a pedicure a few days before my wedding. She had  10 chairs open and 1 client but acted like I was crazy to think I could come into a nail salon and get my nails done. She gave me so much attitude and didn't even ask if I'd like to make an appointment. So I asked to buy nail polish from her since Raleys was out.  She wouldn't even show me to the rack, and while I was looking seemed so annoyed. If there was less than one star, I would have given it. Made an appointment for today for manicure and pedicure (for me and my daughter). We had to wait 30 minutes before seated for the pedicure. Although I had a very light colored polish on my toes, the staff forgot to remove the polish before she put the basecoat on. I then asked that she remove the polish before she proceeded. The pedicures were rushed and very poor quality accompanied by non-stop conversations amo...ngst staff in Vietnamese. I'm very sorry, but that constant chatter (when not in English) is rude and distracting. The final results of our pedicures was less than satisfactory. The manicures were of average quality (done by the same staff that did the pedicures). When our nails were drying, I asked to speak with the "owner," who apparently was not there. The only person there with any authority was the owner's daughter-in-law, who did not speak English well enough to understand our dissatisfaction. One male staff member told us that we did not get the more expensive pedicures as the reason for the poor quality work! Well, sorry, but when I leave a nail salon I expect the results to look much better than if I attempted to do the job myself! Not the case here. Even when I told the owner's daughter-in-law and the male staff member that I was planning to write this negative review they nodded and said "fine." I am not a competitor and this review is a result of their arrogant attitude and lack of concern for our satisfaction concerning their services. My sister has been telling me to come here for a pedicure for awhile now. We finally went today and wow I am impressed! So many pedicure options if you are looking to really treat yourself. First time here and it won't be my last! Amazing service, extremely clean salon, and I love the different pedicure options they have to choose from. I came here after hearing of the rave reviews my friends gave them, and they were able to get this awful gel acrylic off that I had from a previous salon and they give you hot stone massages and paraffin dips! I was on vacation when I went to Crystal Nails & Spa for the first time.  My days were slightly off, which made me miss my first appointment.  They were very kind and flexible about me coming in the following morning instead.  William was great!!!   The salon is nicely decorated and clean.  I will certainly go back when I return to that area.  Thank you! Usually when I come here they do a pretty good job. Yesterday, the older woman who may be the owner did my nails for the first time. She completely rushed my nails and did three or four layers of nail polish causing it to bubble. It looks like a kid did my nails. It gets no stars actually. I have gone here frequently and it was just all right. I had an appointment today that I made in advance because I'm going on vacation tomorrow. I showed up and the place was closed. When I called she said, sorry I have a doctor's appointment! So, no show for the owner and no call!!! Incredibly rude and inconsiderate. What an amazing experience. Before today there hasn't been a nail salon that made me want to run back. After reading a Facebook friend review I decided to try this nail salon. I can't explain how impressed I am... When the nail tech didn't think my gel manicure matched my pedicure she spoke up and found a new color. I was impressed w the amount of time that was spent on both my toes, my nails and I was spoiled with the longest back massage that almost relaxed me to sleep!! This is the cleanest, nicest, best place to go for mani/pedis ever! Friendly staff who go above and beyond! The back massage while waiting for my nails to dry is amazing. The prices are incredibly competitive. The customer service is miles above anything I've ever encountered and had made us loyal customers to be sure. This was the worst pedicure I've ever had.  None of the callouses were removed.She rushed through the process, nothing like the pedicures I get at my regular salon at home.   This salon expects customers to thoroughly read their website in advance and be aware of services.  There is no option when you arrive to choose one of their 3 pedicure options.  The basic pedicure is the only option unless you indicate that you want a different option at the time you make the appointment on the phone.  As I've never experienced this at any other salon before and didn't know this salon, I didn't know to read the website in detail and choose in advance, nor did the person taking my appointment ask me for my preference.  In addition, when I inquired about the different options, they had a bad attitude.  Glad I won't have to go there again. I don't get the awful reviews on this site. Both my wife and I have gone to Tammy for some time, had nothing but good service, the place is clean and she does a very good job. She does have high turnover on help, but that's the service industry in Tahoe in my experience, and I've lived here for 18 years.If people want to be treated like prima donnas they should go to the Hyatt or the Ritz-Carlton and pay to be pampered. If they want good nail work at a reasonable price, they won't do better than Tammy. Read Less

I read all the nasty reviews for this place before I visited Incline Village.  I had four hours to waste while my boyfriend was golfing and there's nothing else to do in town. So I called around and drove around and no one else would take a walk in.  I came back to this place and decided to risk all these bad reviews.  And after only a 15 minute wait they were able to take me.  And I realized that the bad reviewers are probably accustomed to a different level of service.This salon was at par with or better than most of the places I have been to in CA.  Yeah, they don't speak English and they're not the cleanest, but I wouldn't call them mean or unsanitary, they're just efficient.My manicure is actually better than most I've had.  I do just a plain mani, no gel or acrylics and it usually comes off the next day and mine is still great.  Johnny took extra time on my pedi and I got a nice foot massage from it too.  Not a service I'm used to!  All in all, I would go back.  It's $48 for a mani pedi.  I usually pay about $30 for that service, but it appears because there are so few places in this small town that they can get away with charging that. You'd pay more in gas driving to Carson City so if you're stuck in town like I was, this is a good place. Read Less

My best friend lives in Tahoe, so when I went to go visit her, we thought it would be nice to go get pedicures together. I needed waxing done as well, so we were on a search to find a place that had good reviews in Incline village.... yeah there weren't many. We literally spent hours going back and forth on where to go, and finally we settled on Crystal Nails & Spa, mainly because they accommodated our schedule best.I've gone to so many no-frills places, and this one pretty much met my low expectations. It wasn't awesome, but it wasn't bad either, and i definitely didn't have the same horrible experiences that everyone else had here on yelp. BUT, I do have two complaints worth mentioning:First, my friend got a manicure to go along with her pedi, so she started first.... but they put me in my pedi chair soon after she stared with her mani, and i literally waited in the pedi chair for 45 minutes!! I mean, i guess it's nice to just sit in the chair and soak your feet, but after awhile, I was getting really uncomfortable and my feet were too peely from the water. It would have been nice at least to let me know WHEN they were going to start me, so that I wasn't wondering the whole time!My second complaint is that as I was getting my waxing done (full face), the lady constantly kept telling me how hairy i was!! WTF?! Yes, thank you, i know that i was overdue for a waxing, you didn't have to point it out a handful of times that I had a lot of hair. jesus. On top of that, for any of you who have gotten a lip waxing, you know how much it hurts... well everytime I get it, i just tear up a bit... i don't cry, seriously, just like ONE tear drops down my cheek. that's it. Well, when that happened, the lady goes in a baby voice, "awww is the baby crying?"WHATTT?!?!!? i know there is probably some kind of cultural difference here (believe me, my family can be bad with that, so I know what it's like), and that she was just joking around, but you know what, just don't say anything at all then, ok?!anyway, i don't live here, so this place really doesn't matter to me, and honestly, when I go back to visit my friend, yeah, maybe we'll come back if they accommodate our schedule, but i'm sure it's also worth looking around for another place in the area.... REVISED 6/8/2012:I find the review from Carole fascinating as I don't remember giving anyone the middle finger or cursing.  Yes, after some arguing about the miscommunication, the salon did (rudely) offer to make some room for the bride alone but did not have time for the whole party.  We actually did consider it despite Carole's assumption and judgement of our behavior.  Unfortunately we were turned off by Tammy's approach - the bride mentioned she would rather have unpolished nails for her wedding than have them done here.  Perhaps we did stomp out but polite and accommodating this place was not.That's terrific that "all the regulars know Tammy" but from my experience, I felt she was rude and unfriendly with us.  Perhaps because we are not regulars?  I don't know, I can only speak from my experience.  I still stand by my original review - she could have communicated with us in a friendlier manner and refrained from accusing us of making the mistake. And yes, of course, we threatened to write them up on Yelp!  We all know Yelp is the best place to read reviews of customer service!  ORIGINAL REVIEW:  TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.  A group of us (including the bride) had appointments at this nail salon for mani-pedis before the wedding. Apparently there was a miscommunication but we were very rudely informed that they did not have time for the services we wanted.
