Glitter is THE place for Omaha nails. Sarah, the owner, has been in the beauty field since she was a kiddo helping at her mom's salon, and she certainly inherited the skills! She is kind, funny, and a hard-working woman who makes it look easy. I'm Stoked to have found my go-to mani/pedi spot! My friend Cat and I found Glitter via Groupon. (I got a pedicure and shellac manicure with nail art, and Cat got a pedicure with nail art.) Sarah puts thought into every detail. We had a great experience! --Lovely atmosphere... The salon is cute and clean. It was a treat to be there! Decorated with posh and creative furniture that Sarah and her husband created together. My fave detail is the gray door featuring a waterfall of gold sparkles.--Pedi chairs... When I read on their webpage that they do not have the typical LaZy Boy massage chairs and spa tubs for pedicures, I was skeptical. I worried I'd get a backache. Not a problem. The chairs are supportive.--Water tubs and hygiene... Most salons put different clients' feet in the same tub multiple times a day, without a quality scrub down. Eek! Germs! That's why people get toe fungus from salons... poor hygiene practices. Glitter does it better. Between clients, staff cleans their stainless steel basins and cuticle/nail trimming tools. No joke--these suckers are gleaming. Much appreciated! --Sugar scrub... They make their sugar scrub in-house, and it's included at no extra charge. Thick sugar granules that feel great and exfoliate.--Complimentary foot massage... Good. Sarah has strong hands.--Toe/nail maintenance.... Great attention to detail. I pick at my cuticles, so I'm a tougher client than most. She used her tools to prep my gardening/painting/neglected nails into something refined. --Callus removal... Again, Glitter does this well. The scrubber paddle (no clue what it's called) is gentle and effective. Lots of salons use tools that are either damaging or pointless. My feet feel smoother! --Toe separators... So, instead of the foam toe separators that salons usually use, Glitter instead puts smooth mini "stones" between your toes. This sounds weird, but it's an improvement. If you're someone with bigger toes, or less flexible toes, you will notice the difference.--Nail colors... Superb. I haven't seen this brand before, it starts with a "V." It's at the same level as Essie. It was smooth, even, and delivered rich color. Way better than OPI.--Nail art... Impressive. Look at the pics! When Sarah told me she does art from stencils, I was skeptical. Usually when I see stenciled nails out and about, it looks cheap. Well! Glitter offers unique and quality options. My toes are AMAZING: a ship at sea, and a lighthouse/mountain scene. My fingernails: a DJ mix table and a geometric pattern. Cat's toes: ombré glitter and dinosaurs--no joke.)--Shellac: I often choose shellac for my hands, and this was better than usual. At most salons, nail techs ask clients to put their hands under the UV light more than once between coats. (Thus, I'm exposed to more UV, and this isn't necessary if they're trained well.) At Glitter, Sarah had me use the UV only once between coats, and the timed amount was on the shorter side. Good! Please note:A) Glitter offers regular nail polish and shellac. No gels, acrylics, dips, etc. They only offer natural nail options.B) Appointments are needed. They are usually booked a week in advance. Their hours range from approximately 10am-7pm, Monday-Saturday. Closed Sundays.ENJOY! Read Less
