Always ask for deluxe pedicure and its always a different set of services. Two years in a row found my nails turned white by October so had to let them rest and grow out. The first year they were filed on top so deeply they put holes in my nails and lifted and fell off. This year i did no polish and no filing and got a cuticle infection. Girl was skyping with boyfriend during my pedicure. Very disappointed because they make a great first impression and are close to home. I really tried to make this work. I went in for a gel mani and gel pedi. $90 after tip. It was less than a spa experience. I had to keep my arms elevated for someone to do my nails while another my toes simultaneously. The next day my nails began to peel back and bubble underneath. I called them and they told me to return to have them fixed. They said my nails were too "short" to hold the gel (which they are not) and so I had to choose a color in the powder (so now my mani and pedi don't match). After they finished I expected to pay the very small difference in the price of the powder vs gel. But instead they argued with me for over 10 minutes that i owed them $15 and that i should be happy they gave me half price. It didn't seem to register with them that I had been inconvenienced by their low quality service, and forced to return for another hour just to get what should have been expected the first time. They continued to argue with me in front of the constomers until they were paid. Embarrassing! I will never return. If u choose to go there expect a very poor quality service and no integrity. I can't say enough good things about AJ Nails. First off, their hours are accommodating for people that work late/weird hours. I can always go on a Sunday and get right in. There is no need to make an appointment. My manicures always last a long time and look great. Read Less

It started out ok. Didn't last. I watched carefully to see how clean they were and found at least two areaswhere they are not. When they use their emery board they use the same one on everyone. This cannot be sterilized and so can pass on nail fungus. Same with the buffer. I never saw any instruments in a cold sterilizer so I don't know what they do with them but I do know they used clippers on me first and the same ones on my Mom. Had they done it the other way I would have been exposed to her nail fungus. The 2nd time Mom and I were there she was in tears from the pain the gal that was working on her was causing her. She cries silently so the girl didn't know until I pointed it out but even then she continued to hurt her. The 3rd time the gal working on me hurt me and did a really lousy job of cutting my nails. I do not suffer silently so I said a loud owww. She looked around to see if anyone had heard and went back to cutting. I ended up with 3 ingrown toenails because of her! I was in town for a couple of days and wanted to get my nails done. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try! I got a Shellac manicure from Ni (I'm not sure how to spell it). She was so friendly! She was quick but paid great attention to detail. I like my nails very short and sometimes it's hard to get a good shape with such short nails but she did a great job! The atmosphere is very relaxing and clean. They are also very quick to get you in and out. I'm giving them 3 stars because the past 2 times I went there has been bad. When getting a fill the tech didn't check to make sure all my nails were even so they were all different lengths. Then the next time I was in there with my step daughter and they charged me more for her pedi. The first time I went the tech was kinda rude when I was trying to describe what shape I wanted. I have started getting my nails done as a treat for myself at doing things that I really hate. It's great motivation. I started doing gel nails, and loved them but they always peeled and never quite lasted long enough so I started using the dip powder. I love it. It lasts forever and is practically indestructible. Not only that, but if there is a problem, they will fix it. One of my indestructible nails cracked a week after they were done and I wasn't ready for a color change yet, they barely showed the growth.... so I went in and showed them and they just fixed the one nail for me, cheerfully, and didn't charge me for the repair. I had a manicure and pedicure at AJ Nails on a Tuesday right before Christmas.  The shop was very busy but adequately staffed to handle everyone.  I didn't wait more than two minutes to sit down in a pedicure spa chair.  The place is clean and the staff was friendly enough.  I am happy with the way my nails and toes look.  I felt like the nail technician was very rushed but on the other hand I'm sure they were much busier than usual.  It's a bit more expensive than my usual places...Ladue Nails or Beautiful Nails but perhaps that's just the going rate in West County? My manicure from here looks good but the manicurist was rough and totally unprofessional.  She spoke Vietnamese to the other manicurists the ENTIRE time she worked on my nails except when she took a call on her cell phone, which she put on speaker phone and had a conversation in Vietnamese!! RUDE. I don't mind when the nail techs are communicating with each other in the course of working bit when they are laughing loudly and looking at me that is beyond rude and unprofessional. I am pretty sure they were talking about me.There are too many other nail salons with nicer friendlier techs . This is a beautiful and conveniently located salon but they need to get their act together from a service standpoint. Read Less
