The old man there is very rude and loud.....runs all the customers off being mean to them. . jennifer does a good job on acrylics but dozens of salons do the same or better and are nice to the customers. been there THREE TIMES tipping over 25 percent and all three visits the old man yelled at me, WILL NOT GO BACK. By far the best nail salon I've been to so far. Which says a lot beings I have probably been to all of them around the area. I love my nail lady she is always so sweet and does an amazing job always in and out quickly. Very easy to talk to. By far my best salon experience. already made the pledge to quit making them mistake of being in a hurry and going to just any salon. Otherwise known as Tragic Nails. I went with my mom and got an acrylic set while she had a mani. The acrylics were fine at first, but all popped off within a week. The nails underneath were barely filed down. They also completely cut off my mom's nails when she just told them to even them out. And finally, their credit card machine was broken, which wouldn't have been as bad if they'd told before they started my nails. Trust me, this place is not worth your time. Read Less

I been going to Magic Nails now for awhile. I thought they did a pretty good job. Jennifer and Diane were really nice, and the thinner man was nice but today I walked in and I sat down, there was a woman ahead of me, I don't mind waiting. A bigger-"stockier" gentleman was working, sitting at nail table, when I walked in, no one said hello to me and he said ignorantly, " what do you need?" I tell him a pedicure and fill and he then proceeded to look at my car that I just parked and told me to repark-closer inside The lines, I looked there and there was no need to, I wasn't taking up any other spot... he was rude and seemed crabby.... and you want MY MONEY AND I CAN GO ANYWHERE? This is not how we do business in America sweetheart. I got into my car as asked but DROVE OFF. What a joke. I tipped well there plus always gave them cash because the one gal told me they rather have their customers pay in cash... I should have been treated like a queen not a prisoner. I'm gone. Read Less

Tried this place for the first time 1 week ago today. I asked for a mani with the powder dip polish. After picking my color,  the women immediately started to apply powder polish. Any other place I have been too, always did the manicure first. I thought this was a little odd, or that maybe she forgot. She decided after she finished the color, to do my manicure. I didn't understand what the point was in that.  The polish was already on my nails. My nails are chipping already.  The women that did my nails was older, and very pleasant. But I was not happy with how they did my manicure. I felt that their prices were reasonable at the time. Until today when I checked my account and they double charged me for their services. My daughter and I live in Oakville and have been trying the various nail places to see which we liked the best.  Today we visited Magic Nails and were both very pleased.  We both had the $35 pedi and my daughter got the powder/acrylic nails.  The pedis were done well, ample time spent on massaging.  It was not busy, just my daughter and I and two other customers.  The employees were friendly, the place is clean.  So far, it is our favorite of the salons we've tried.We were not pressured into taking any services we didn't want.I think, no matter the subject or establishment, you will always have differing opinions and good/bad reviews. This was my first time at the salon. I came in for a pedicure and a gel mani. When I arrived they promptly sat me in the pedicure chair where an older, nice, woman started my pedicure. She was very slow, but from the looks of her age, I wasn't surprised, nor annoyed. (She's the only reason that I didn't give this place a one star). Mid pedicure the older woman was forced to leave so a gentleman could proceed. He rushed through the rest of my pedicure and did not even cut the cuticles, nor put a top coat on my nail polish-that was already dry to the bone. When it came to the mani, the same gentleman rushed through the process, once again missing my cuticles and proceeded with the gel color. He was four coats deep and the color was not showing up. He ran into the back and got another color, in which I thought was the same, but it wasn't. It was a red, instead of a dark purplish/black. I told him I didn't like it, but he continued. After six coats of gel, a color I didn't even choose, he was done. He asked again if I liked it, once again I said no. He told me to come back another day and he would change the color (No thanks). A day into my pedi the color had chipped-assuming because there wasn't a top coat, and two days into my mani the gel started breaking off of THREE nails. Not only did they not care about how I felt, they still charged me 50$. I wouldn't recommend this salon unless you're trying to waste money. Read Less

I have been going to this place ever since it opened.  Their manicures and pedicures are great!  The people that work there are some of the nicest people I know.  Someone ALWAYS greets you as you walk in.  They are kind and very respectful.  Do NOT believe the people that complain.  They are always miserable human beings who expect to be treated as if no one else matters.  I promise you will not be disappointed! Dirty place with no customer service. Scheduled pedicure appointment, arrived 15 minutes early, and after waiting 45 minutes, walked out with wet feet. No apology for making me wait or explanation of the delay. How about a "we'll be with you in 10 minutes".. Nothing. Will NEVER go back to this place after years of bad service. Read Less

Awesome place. I have been going there for 7 years and never once have a problem.  They are very friendly  and do what they can to please everyone. people do need to remember  that nails are not put on with concrete they will break or come off and services are not free. If break a nail and they fix it for free at least pay for the product. Would you give someone something free from your job Read Less

Awful experience. Was skeptical of how she was doing my acrylic and said one might fall off. She said if it did to come back and she  would do for free. Sure enough , it fell off a few days later. Had an eyebrow wax and a pedicure done, they were very prompt in sitting me down in a chair and getting to work.The pedicure was decent, and she did a nice job on my eyebrows.I'm only giving 3 stars because they were very pushy for additional services.A) telling me my fingernails (I work with my hands for living) need a manicure is understandable, but when I say no thanks please leave it at that.B) Going on to me for 10 minutes about my facial hair (wanting me to do other waxes) left me very uncomfortable and not interested in having any further services done. I hate getting my eyebrows waxed, lets be honest: we all do. But its a necessary evil. Everytime I go to this establishment, the ladies immediately know me and help me out. They make jokes about how big of a baby I am, and always do a wonderful job. It makes one of my least favorite tasks bearable. ALSO: They always have coupons on the back of a Schnucks receipt. I love this place! I have never seen them drunk before, that's ridiculous. That person must have had the wrong place because these people are so sweet. My sister and I come here all the time. They reek of stale alcohol and one time one of them got up during my nail service and went to the back room and took a drink from a Budweiser can during. Their hands shake while trying to clip cuticles. The pedicure massage is horrible... My shin bone is not a muscle and pushing harder on it hurts. Every time. I've gone back because it's very close to my house and hope maybe they won't be drunk, or maybe their hands won't shake while using the sharp cuticle tool. I am a certified Shellac master painter and how they do Shellac is a rip off (not the correct method or products). This place is not only horrible, it needs to be shut down. It is a state board violation to work while under the influence of any substance, and risk having the license revoked forever. Sanitation is a huge risk under these circumstances and that is dangerous. Dirty tools from a nail service can spread HIV, Hepatitis, staph, fungus, and a multitude of other contagions. This place is a disaster. PS the machines those types of quicky mail shops use to drill your nails are never sanitized. Is someone's dried blood on one of those sanding discs? Probably. Read Less
