I went to Ladue Nails and Spa (just down the street) for years and just got fed up with sloppy and slow manicures. I was worried I would have to wait at Clayton Nail Spa due to the smaller size and some of the other reviews. I just finished my third visit for a gel manicure. And I'm definitely a convert. I don't like to schedule appointments far in advance because I just don't know when I'm going to have time to get my nails done. But each time I've called and asked for an appointment within two hours and have never had to wait. The staff are friendly and they do their best to make sure your comfortable. If there is ever a language/communication hiccup, someone else steps in to clarify very quickly. The quality has been great. I hate a sloppy polish job and I've been very happy here. When I moved to STL I was looking for a nice nail spot. I stumbled across this place and found it to be ok. The facility is clean and neat and the people are kind. I got a gel manicure here and the first one was amazing. However, the second time I came, the polish didn't last a long and the paint job didn't look that great. So some time passed and I came back. This time I got acrylic extensions. The woman who did my nails kept asking me if I wanted to do Gel nails or the Dip powder. I didn't. When it came time to polish my nails. The tech messed up and stated it was because she "was not used to regular polish". I gave her a little side eye but didn't say anything as she attempted to fix it. She finished my polish and moved me to the dryer. I sat there for a minute trying to make sure everything was dry. When I got up to leave I noticed that she didn't polish the whole nail in some places and the polish job was just horrible. Eventually I just went home and re-polished my nails. I got the sense that because I didn't want to do dip nails or Gel polish then there was no need to actually do a good job. All in all...if you are looking to do dip or gel this is a great place, but if you just want plain polish, maybe you should look someplace else. **also, I didn't give super low stars because there are some great techs there but I think that the one I had just had a bad day. I usually have no complaints except for the last time I was at this salon -- miscommunication on the nail technicians end with the nice gentleman that checked meIn over whether I needed s polish change or gel manicure I wanted a polish change and when she brought the supplies for a manicure I told her sorry i don't know if he told you but just a polish change - she huffed and puffed and took her frustrations out on my hands / horrible attitude Let this slide and dint come back for a few months til today - AND NEVER AGAIN I am so angry the tech "Mary"Was super rude and the entire rough with my hands and kept saying relax / pit hand up higher I'm going to mess up --Ok lady I get my nails done every 2 weeks and never heard of this that i "can't relax" when I do even tho hard when her energy was super rude I do that and then I'm "too relaxed" - she's lucky i tipped her at all I WOULD WILL ABSOLUTELY NEVER BE BACK Read Less

My daughter and I went for nails and pedicure yesterday. Had an appointment and even though we ran late they got us in chairs and didn't wait long to start. Only complaint: my nail dipping wasn't great. Many nails aren't covered completely on the sides. Some edges are pretty badly missed. Unfortunate because the rest of the services were good. Had an appt the day before my wedding for me and 3 bridesmaids for mani/pedi. We were there on time and sat in pedicure chairs. Didn't even fill our water up until 30 min later and then it was cold ! What's the point in making an appointment if y'all can't keep them ?! When they finally started my pedicure the woman was extremely rough with getting the dead skin off the bottom and side of my feet and toes to the point she cut me ! I finally noticed how bad it was when I put my foot back in the water and it started to burn !!! Then on my dip mani I got two pretty good cuts on sides of my fingers. This was the DAY BEFORE my wedding !!!! I had to have bandaids on my feet to even be semi comfortable in my wedding shoes the next day!!! Time to try a different place in town next time.... Quick and wonderful with my children (both got Mani/pedis). Was a little disappointed with the cuticle treatment of my own nails before getting a gel set. Clayton Nail Spa is clean and the staff is super nice. But, if you go, make sure you DO NOT get Natalie. She was super rough with filing (realized my nails were ridged/uneven when I got home) and cutting cuticles (she ripped the skin on my finger and I was bleeding). While she rushed through the gel mani (it was not busy at the salon) she accidentally put regular polish clear coat on one hand before realizing she messed up. I visited this salon after checking multiple reviews on Yelp and Google. This was really my 2nd salon in one day after a not so great encounter made me leave another nail place closer to my house. First, my phone interaction with them was professional and courteous. I called at about 6:59 to ask if they could service me before closing (8pm). They agreed and when I arrived, I was pretty sure I would be able to get my nails done. The tech (Christine) who did my nails was professional and friendly; she even told a joke or two. I felt she did a good job on my nails. This was my 2nd time getting a dip polish and I think she did a better job than the previous nail salon I visited. I could not make it to my regular spa so I decided to stop in here without an appointment around noon. They seated me right away. The nail tech I had was wonderful, she introduced me to the powder gel and she did a fabulous job! She shaped my nails perfectly and made them all exactly the same (which some people have a hard time accomplishing). Throughout the whole time she kept asking me if I would like water and if I was comfortable. My end result was perfect, she was so thorough! I went there for a gel manicure today. The gel polish I had on changed color when it got cold, and I wanted the same. Initially I thought I had not gotten that and I was somewhat upset, but when I washed my hands with cold water this morning I realized the polish does change color with temperature. It is just more subtle than the polish I had on before. I like what I have now a lot better and I look forward to trying different colors there as the seasons change, going forward. Read Less

Andy does an amazing job on my nails. I like to do the dip. No need for tips and my nails look awesome. For the first time ever I get a real manicure cuticles are taken care of and a massage.
