I have been going to True Beauty for the past 3 or 4 years now. I will NEVER get my nails done at a different salon. The staff including the owner Michael and his wife are so welcoming, nice and helpful. They take their time to make sure you are happy with your nails and make you feel like you are family and not just a customer. They even offer a free glass of wine with Pedicures. I really enjoyed my time here. I haven't gotten my nails done in about 10 years so I was a little nervous about it. The staff was welcoming and quick to help me pick a color and get me started (I was a walk in). My tech was very detailed and meticulous in shaping my nails (as a bonus for me, because I don't really like small talk, she let me sit and watch her work without making me feel like the silence was uncomfortable). She did nick my cuticle once but she was very attentive to cleaning it, making sure that no chemicals got in it, and working around it. While my husband thought it took too long, I was very pleased with her attention to detail. It made me confident that she was making my nails look absolutely perfect. This place is great! My only complaint (if you can call it that!) is you need to make sure you set aside plenty of time because they are thorough! My classic spa pedicures take more than one hour and include about a 15-20 min massage! I've been hurt at many nail salons because I have thin nails but never here. I seriously do not know why this nail salon has a low rating on YELP?! I travel a LOT with work, so I use YELP to help me find - well, pretty much everything in strange places. I live in Mississippi, I'm hosting my daughters baby shower on Saturday (2 days from now). Travel/ scheduling/ decorating/ cooking.... etc. didn't allow me time to go to MY nail salon at home before Saturday. When I arrived in Springfield & finished my company business.... I asked the ladies for recommendations. Overwhelmingly- they said "True Beauty" .... well, based on the YELP ratings- I would have NEVER selected this place!!! Turns out - they are amazing AND - I'm going to schedule my manicure/ pedicures around my trips to Springfield! You folks don't know what's good! Give this place a try. Had an appointment with Michael to get my nails done for my wedding. I was 8 minutes late due to an auto accident. I called when it happened. When I got to the salon Michael was rude. He made snide remarks and continued to make them throughout the duration of my visit. I was very uncomfortable the whole time. He took walk ins off the street and refused to do my nails. I finally ended up getting 2 other ladies to do them and they turned out okay. Those ladies were at least nice to me which is the only reason why I am even giving this place 2 stars. Read Less

So I went here with a friend Tuesday first time every to get a manicure. Was untalkative, and because they knew it was my first time they didn't massage my hands or put lotion on. They told me to go sit on the couch to dry. Most would take you there not point and than ignore you. Latter found out I was supposed to be under the heat lamp. You can see the diffrent layers, and two smudged before I even walked out the door. They sent me away saying they were dry 20min after I left I realized they weren't. Totally ruined have to remove now what a waist of $12. As for my friend they refused to clean her nails so she had to litterally do it herself. And as they put the color she picked she realized she hated it yet the lady kept putting it on and wouldn't change the color for her. Not only that but she cut her made her bleed. Very friendly and accommodating as I was a walking customer. Was a last minute customer getting ready for my wedding and they helped me when no body else in Springfield Mo would. I can't imagine this place getting any bad reviews. I've been using Michael and his family for 5+ years or longer and feel like I am family when I walk in those doors. No where else in this town can you get good quality nails and beautiful Art Deco on them and love being there as well. I get compliments daily on them and have to tell people where I go. The worst nail place in springfield. I came to get a mani and pedi and they sat me down to do a pedi first. As I took my shoes off and got comfortable in the seat, the nail tech comes and tells me they will do the mani first. I already was adjusted in the chair ready to start the massager and wasn't expecting to move around. So I stood up and left because they were being very rude and rushing me. When I came back to pay for my niece they charged me 20 dollars for a mani that they finished in less then 5 mins and they didn't touch her cuticles, buff her nails, or even do anything to her nails besides paint them. Then the woman taking the money had a horrible attitude towards us and was being so hostile. Never coming back here. Horrible horrible! Read Less
