My wife had a pedicure and manicure with Nancy and she did an amazing job!!!! Loved how friendly everyone was and how they seemed to do anything to make her happy. The receptionist at the front had a smile on his face the whole time and was very helpful and kind. He could also speak perfect English which can be helpful for both parties. I have been a customer at this nail salon, once a month, for 15 years. Tried several different technicians before settling on mine. She really listened to my preferences and made a point to remember them each time I came in. The entire staff is friendly and solicitous. Over the years I've learned about everyone's families and seen their children grow up. That really adds to my trip to get pampered in this salon. Nail tech(Jason I think) was very irritated to paint my 4 year old daughters nails. He was rude to her and painted her nails and toenails in under 5 minutes. He also did not remove her old nail polish and I even asked him if he did and he said yes. It is obvious he didn’t. I know she is only 4 but he could have acted like he cared since I was paying him. My daughter gets so excited to go with me and behaviors so well. Then as we were leaving he was standing right outside the door smoking. I will never be back. Read Less

Well... unfortunately it's hit and miss, the consistency of their services is either "okay" one visit or poor the next, one time I feel like I had a "good pedicure" and last Wednesday, I had a really bad one. (Out of about 5 total.) I left feeling like my polish looked blah. She did a single coat of French white so the blue beneath showed through and their was even blue streaked through over the white. You see, I'm 7 months pregnant, stand on my feet at work all day and I thought I'd pamper myself before the baby shower. $45 later I had what felt like a filleted toenail and poor polish. Yep, by the next day my toes was red, swollen and throbbing and I've been squeezing puss out of it and doctoring it ever since. I am also a licensed cosmetologist of over 5 years and I do hair, Manis, Pedis, regular and gel 5 days a week. The gel has already peeled off and I'm currently struggling to repaint my own toe nails myself. Really a bummer, since I had been looking forward to this "treat" to myself for so long! A family member of mine went to get a pedicure there a few months ago, and keep in mind they went there quite a bit. The last visit they had, they ended up giving my family member a fungal infection on their big toe. They have to be on an antifungal pill for three months and they have to have blood tests done to be sure that their liver is still working properly. This person didn't go anywhere else to get their toes done, let alone do they go to a gym or a public pool. This is solely because the way that Rainbow Nails sterilizes their equipment is simply not good enough. Personally I am saddened and disappointed at the lack of cleanliness they deem acceptable. Very Disappointed. I have been getting gel nails and pedis for 7 yrs at various places prior to my visit here. I was seated promptly. That is the only good experience. While doing my manicure she cut two different fingers that hurt for over a week. The nails were wider than my fingers. She also done my pedicure and she done something to my large toe that caused pain to walk for several weeks. I have never had bad luck until this visit in Nov 2016. I will not be back. Read Less

The employees were nice enough, but the nails turned out thick and chunky. Even with that the color was nice. However 5 days after getting them done one has already fallen off twice. For a $50 nail visit I would expect more than a few days before maintenance is needed! Read Less

I have been going to Rainbow nails consistently for almost a year now so it's time for a review! Holly and her husband Peter have been doing my acrylic nails and pedicures routinely. She is the fastest one I know! That girl is not only SUPER friendly, she remembers my name, how I like my nails done, what colors I like, but also what is going on in my life. She is gentle, always asks if I like the length etc before continuing. I usually have to make an appointment because she has a lot of clients.Their pedicure chairs are BRAND NEW and the pedicures are fast and efficient. If you are wanting a longer pedicure this isn't your place. They greet you at the door. Their prices are comparable but on the higher side. I get a fill every 2-3 weeks and it's $30-35 depending on if I get a design painted. Read Less

Angel did my nails and I love them!! I have had my nails messed up many times so I rarely get my nails done but she did such a great job I want to keep coming back! She took her time and I didn't feel rushed at all!! She even offered advice and my nails turned out better than the idea I came in there with! I came in from LA to visit all of my favorite places with my husband (we did our residency in MO) and one of my nails broke so far down my nail bed I was afraid of leaving it unattended. I yelped all these different places and due to time and distance, I walked into rainbow nails. They didn't have the best reviews. Pretty touch-and-go I would say. I got a gel manicure and had some pseudo acrylic placed on the one questionable nail. Henry did an amazing job, and I'm a super picky person about my nails. He was quick and made the finished product flawless. I was a little nervous because he was getting the gel on my skin (thinking to myself WTF) but then he meticulously removed it and they looked great! I typically go to an inexpensive nail salon and only came here because a group of friends wanted to. They were very efficient with five people and quick without feeling like you got ripped off. A friend and I were walk-ins on a busy Saturday and did not have to wait long at all. The pedicure stations were reasonably clean and they did a fine job. The reason the rating is so low is because we were given upgrades/ services we did not ask for and then charged for them at checkout.We asked specifically for "regular pedicures with plain polish." When we sat down a laminated menu with different scents was thrust at us and we each chose one, assuming it was part of a regular pedi. Then they offered hot towels, then paraffin wax. At one point I actually asked if it was all included and she nodded. My $75 tab for a $25 pedicure said otherwise. Read Less

This was my second time going to Rainbow Nails. I thought I would give it a second try to see if the quality of service had changed, unfortunately it had not. The first time, I went in for a French manicure and pedicure. Both were quick and sloppily done. The second and most recent time, I only got a manicure, simple, one color. I could have done a better job myself. The manicure is bumpy and was not cleaned up properly, as well as not even covering my entire nail. Even though I had communicated that to the technician, she repeatedly said she was going to do a second coat, which I was more than aware of. Our bachelorette party of five decided to get our nails done, so we decided to come to Rainbow Nails. No appointment was necessary, we just walked right in and checked in (we came in on Friday at around 3pm). In the time it took for us to pick our colors for our mani/pedis, the staff had already prepped a station for each of us to sit at. I decided to go with a French manicure/pedicure and gel sparkly polish on top.The salon itself looks small from the outside. However, when you walk in, you'll see its a rectangular room that stretches back into the building. There are many stations for manis, a station in the middle for waxes, and in the back are the many stations for pedis. The establishment is semi-clean; the only messes I saw were just from individual stations. The pedicure station was clean; the workers make sure to clean the foot tub after each use. When it was time to get my mani, the towel that was placed on the desk had nail polish stains on it. There are multiple TV's here on both sides of the room. The worker who did my mani/pedi was Dede. She was very friendly, outgoing, and made sure that I liked the way my nails looked before moving on to something else. She also was able to give a great leg and arm massage after both the mani/pedi. After the pedi, my legs were treated to a warm towel. She was able to work quickly, but with quality care to my mani/pedi. It was amazing (and felt amazing too)!Overall, I was impressed that this establishment was able to service 5 walk-ins at once, taking quality care of us quickly. I also was very happy with the way my nails turned out. I'd definitely come back here the next time I come to Springfield!Side note: as with any salon, if you are new to getting your nails done, I would suggest going with a friend who knows how its done first. The quick pace of things might overwhelm you and you may not know what is going on. The place stayed open way past their closing time to accomodate my friend and I because we did not know their hours. The techs are friendly and do a great job.However, make sure you watch them.
