I just want to warn everyone about this place! If you go here, you won't ever be able to go anywhere else!! Haha, this place is that good! They have the highest level of cleanliness I've ever seen. It's feels sterile like a doctor's office.It doesn't smell like your typical nail salon. They use new plastic wrapped pumice stones on every customer, then discard them. The water tubs are lined. They sanitize their tools in some kind special oven. The overall feel of the shop is bright, airy, and modern. They have a huge selection of polishes, gels, powders, glitters, etc. They have lots of different treatment options available. They do try hard to upsell you, but that's to be expected especially because they offer so many different products, like oils, aromatherapy, masks, creams, etc. I had Jenny work on me. She talked the whole time, but wasn't annoying one bit. She's funny, smart, and interesting. She did a fantastic job on my feet, spending forever buffing away my thick calluses. She is clearly focused on building relationships, knowing that is what brings the money in. I got a mani/pedi yesterday and this was one of the best experiences that I've ever had at a nail salon. I was immediately greeted when I walked in and they were more than accommodating for me being 40 minutes early for my appointment. Van did my deluxe spa pedicure. She was easy to talk to and very friendly. The deluxe spa pedicure includes putting your feet in bags with hot wax and a hot stone massage on your calves. It was very relaxing, especially with the massage chair going at the same time. The shellac manicure took no time at all and looks amazing! This is a family owned business with great service and prices. This may be out of the way for some people but it is worth the drive for the service alone! I am on a roll here! I try not to review places like this until I have been at least 3 times and (sorry husband) we have reached that threshold. The prices, as everyone has mentioned, are pretty reasonable. It's not bargain basement prices, but competitive. They take appointments as well as walk-ins. I have have success 3/4 times on a weekday morning. Staff has consistently greeted me at the door with a warm smile and introduced me to the guide to what services are offered. It relieves any anxiety I have seeing a description of different pedicure services so I make sure I get what I came for and know what it will cost. I thought I had found the best person there, Helen, but after recently talking to my mom and sister, who both go there too, all 3 of us see different people who we believe to be the best one. So that's a pretty good indication, isn't it! I have not had other services done there. My feet always feel incredibly soft afterwards and my back relaxed from the amazing massage chairs. And I see no need to get gel on them, because the polish always lasts 3-4 weeks. I don't know how. It's some miracle. You should come here if you've ever had someone act like they're in love with the drill and your fingers are trying to take their love away. Jenny knows how to make solar work without filing them down a ton. Also tons of crystal options. I went in with a picture of the kind of heart design that I want. Jenny was super friendly and helpful. Though it's an appt only kind of thing, they'll fit you in that day. For me it's no big deal cause when I get my nails done anywhere I like to give them a heads up anyways. Only thing is I would probably not get the foil again. I used to like going to this salon, but the past couple of times I've been, I've been sorely disappointed. I went earlier this week with my sister for for mani/pedi appointments, we were uncomfortable the minute I walked in. After a minute of trying to decide on a color,the employees were standing by the pedicure chairs gesturing toward the chairs and told us "here". We explained we were still trying to choose our color. They preceded to gawk at us. So uncomfortable! After we sat down and choose what type of pedicure we wanted, I explained that I wanted an acrylic nail on my great toe (I've had one before and liked it) but the lady argued with me and to the point where I told her: "forget it about it, I'll get it another time." We felt rushed about choosing our color, so while getting the pedi we asked the nail technician to see if they had a pastel purple we could tell she was getting frustrated with us and the session just seemed very rushed and short. We preceded to moved on to the manicure station where I was having my nails done while my sister sat next to me with no tech to work on her mani. That's when she realized they left some edges on her toenails unattended to. I spoke up on her behalf and explained to the male nail tech that she wanted it fixed. He started grabbing supplies and moving around as if we were inconveniencing him. The male tech doing our nails was more polite, however due to staffing, he rushed through both of our manicures. My sister and I each got a full set. The tech had no problem fulfilling our requests. However, when he told us we were good to go, our nails looked like they were done a week ago due to the gap of our real nail bed between the acrylic nail bed and our cuticle. Maybe we should've left the minute we felt uncomfortable, or when the tech talked me out of getting what I want. Especially when we each payed $58-$64 plus tip..... not to mention the nail technicians drinking the wine from the fridge they keep in the lobby. I don't like being uncomfortable no matter the situation. But I can say that neither of us will ever go back. Read Less

After all my experiences with shellac, this is definitely the best place I've been to. A friend of mine is a regular here so I made an appointment with her to see. My previous experiences at nail salons or getting shellac were uncomfortable due to the tools they used to sand down my nails or push back my cuticles. At Dorsett Nails they used all the same instruments as whatever previous places I've went to at no discomfort whatsoever! They have a huge variety of gel colors to choose from. I had OPI's Funny Bunny painted on which is a semi sheer opaque white and after 3 weeks, there is still no yellow tint! I'll definitely be coming back. Thank you for your help and for a great mani! The service was bad, we waited for about half an hour. Then, when we sat down in the chairs for a pedicure the tubs felt grimy almost as if no one cleans them. They did not cut my toenails so now they are uneven and look very bad. Then when I got a manicure they cut my cuticle and made it bleed. The manicure it self looks like I did it myself. On top of all of this the tools they used were clearly dirty, I saw a nail clippings in their tool holder and none of the tools were wrapped in a instrument bag. Over all worst nail experience ever. My first experience... the man doing my manicure was drinking the "free" wine and obviously inebriated. I finally asked for someone else to finish my nails. The incident seemed limited to that man, so I opted to give them another shot. Sorry I did . I received a poor manicure- my nails were filed unevenly, the polish smudged and the excess polish was not removed. My manicure experience was not much better. He kept slipping with the file, actually cutting my cuticles. Nails shaped poorly, but by that point, I just wanted to get out of there. Read Less

Not impressed. Totally missed painting the sides of my toenails. Felt like the guy rushed through the pedicure. I had a coupon that was for $19.99. No where was it stated on the actually coupon that it was a student discount coupon.  The kid told me it was. The coupons that were for student discounts definitely said "student discount" on the actual coupon. Not the one I had, though. Must have been a slow day...not honoring coupons and trying to get the most money from the customer. Definitely won't go back. I'll post the coupon. Read Less

I went here to get my nails done a week ago. I usually go to Paris nails in chesterfield but dorsett nails was a little closer to where I live so I thought I would give it a shot! I got the dip powder nails which is what I always get at the other salon and never ever had any issues with it at Paris nails,... However both of my pointer finger nails cracked within 5 days and now they are completely off! The nail tech was super sloppy! He was super rough as in he kept drilling my cuticles which ended up causing them to bleed and burn !!! and I had a bad feeling when he started! The environment is meh nothing special! My friend and I went to Dorsett Nails to get pedicures before going out to dinner. We made an appointment. When we got there we were seated right away. We were asked what type of pedicure we wanted and were directed to the $35 pedicures. We didn't have the time to get the scrub and wax etc that the more expensive pedicures included and just wanted a regular pedicure. This didn't seem to sit well with my technician.  I normally get a deluxe spa pedicure but didn't want to spend the time or the money today and apparently because I didn't want to upgrade, they didn't think the job should be good. Basic used to include cutting and nicely shaping the nails, pushing back the cuticles, scrubbing the feet, and cutting away the dead skin around the nails. Well don't expect that at Dorsett nails. During the whole process the tech was not friendly and acted as if she didn't want to be there. This was the quickest pedicure I have ever had. I spoke to the owner and pointed out that one of my nails was cut uneven, two toenails weren't completely covered with polish and there was still dead skin around a couple of nails. The owner says as she points at my toes, "this is ok, we do good pedicures" I said but it's not good. There was even polish on my skin that should have been removed - nope. No sorry we will fix this. Meanwhile, my friend is still in her chair as her nail tech was taking time and doing a good job. The owner insinuated that because we didn't get an upgraded pedicure that what I got is what you get. She then walked away and said something to someone. The tech that did my pedicure came over. Really? Why would I want her to do any more on my feet. I told the owner I don't want her doing anything more but instead of offering to fix the mess herself she says, well if you don't want her to fix it then we can't do anything.  This is a new owner and it saddens me that she is going to ruin the reputation of a business that did a fantastic job for many years. I really like this shop.  They've definitely surprised me.  The shop is small compared to others that I've been to, but the staff has certainly stepped their game up.  I typically only went here when I needed an eyebrow wax or something really quick like a nail fixed.  Although I've been here a few times just for manicures too.  I can honestly say that after my last visit I was impressed. I went in on a Saturday morning and they already had someone ready to help me.  I got a mani pedi and overall it was fantastic!  The staff was really nice and the service was thorough. I've noticed that they've also rearranged some things, did some painting and now offer wine!  I'm giving them 4 stars just because during my previous visits I've had to wait a while before being serviced which was a bit of an inconvenience when I'm used to just running in and out.  I waited almost 45 minutes before someone helped me for an eyebrow wax.  I needed it badly and had a wedding to go to.  So I waited while watching other customers who had come in after me leaving because of the delay in service.  I'm curious to see if I just got lucky during my last visit or if the long wait period to be serviced is officially over!  Overall though I would recommend this shop to anyone simply based on the quality of their work. Today was my first time here. I work in the neighborhood & it's great to find a nice, clean place to get a pedicure. The girl who did my pedicure was fabulous!! She took care of my toes, feet & legs better than I can remember at any other place I've tried. The workers were also very nice. Prices were ok. Horrible !!! Sad that some people go here for a low price and think that the quality is not important. I gave this place a chance and now am sure this is the worst place to go for a pedicure!!! By going to this classless business you only throw your money away, I rather pay twice as much and receive a quality service in a more professional and qualified place. Read Less
