Dez is sweet and did a really great job. I came here with a groupon but would pay without one. I asked for a trim & some face-framing layers, which turned out really pretty. I absolutely love this place!! Sarah Storm does the best coloring in all of Kansas/Missouri...she is seriously amazing!!! I am blonde and very picky about my hair but she has never gotten it wrong!! After bouncing around a few salons since moving to KC in 2015, I have finally found a place to stick with! Yes, the location and vibe of the space is awesome, but the stylists are the reason I'll keep coming back. I've seen Sara Storm the last two times for my cut and color. She loves blondes which is what I need. Also love that they are a high quality salon that will cut kids hair for a reasonable price. This was one of the only places that came up when I typed in "blow out salon" (I guess that is more of a thing in San Francisco). I was able to make an appointment for my sister, my niece and myself two days prior to our desired time. The women who did our hair were super friendly and nice. They had a menu where you could pick your style and they served my sis and I wine. And our hair styles were exactly what we wanted!My niece actually ended up getting a cut and a style AND her eyebrows done. She is 13 and it was really her first experience with the waxing and the blowout. She liked her stylist Cecelia, and I think they will be back.They also introduced me to a new product to spray my grays away....good stuff. I have found my girl!! I went in after disappointing results from using a dreaded box color (when will I learn). Sara listened, offered suggestions, and came up with a plan that hit all the points I was looking for. The blonde is PERFECT and the cuts great. I love their salon, it's a nice place with good service. I had a groupon with Kate and had a great experience with her. She was friendly and took time on my hair. I wish they had some of the look books for hair ideas so I could have a better idea of what I wanted but my hair turned out great I would recommend getting the deep condition; it's really relaxing and made my hair feel great. I was really disappointed with my experience here. I had splurged and booked a blow out to pamper myself before a New Years Eve out, but definitely did not leave with what I expected. The atmosphere was nice enough, and the staff seemed friendly. I did my best to describe to my stylist (an owner) what I wanted: long soft curls-- nothing too "done." Things went south when my stylist parted my hair too fair to one side. When I asked her if that would be my final part, she said I could fix it...but I wasn't really sure what she meant or how to go about that in her salon. After the blow out, she began curling. By the time I could see it (about halfway through), she had already begun ringlets. I asked if that's what it would look like at the end, and she assured me should would brush it out. I was nervous, and rightly so! When she brushed it out, I looked like a poodle. She had curled towards my face in a very pin up, sultry look as well- totally not what I'd asked for. She did attempt to fix it twice, but after she asked "Are you still not happy?" I didn't feel that I could request anymore changes. I'm currently in the process of redoing it before I go out tonight. If also like to mention that my stylist (an owner) took a phone call while she was working on my hair and, at one point, left the booth to go speak with another employee about a future appointment. Oh, and told me the whole time how here blow dryer wasn't working well--no wonder my hair didn't turn out as I wished! I paid my $40 (though I should have protested), but did not tip, as my stylist was an owner of the salon. I would not recommend going here without a very clear picture (literally) of what you want. Amy has cut my hair for almost two years. I have always loved the ease of styling my hair in the morning due to the superior cut that Amy provided. Today, I asked her to mix it up and try something different...I could not be more happy with the expertise. I had tried 3 times to get a haircut here. A close friend who goes here knows Sara storm a owner and really wanted me to try ago so much that he paid for my haircut. I set an appointment for October 16th a week before going on vacation. She took my phone number and her computer sent me FIVE text messages including one the day before to MAKE SURE I WOULD BE THERE AND NOT WASTE HER TIME. I drove from Lawrence Kansas a hour drive and arrived 15 minutes early and came in and sat down. both employees looked at me oddly and said can we help you? do you have appointment? I said yes for 2 pm with stormy. I was told oh she is not here today and wont be in today. I called my friend who then called her personal cell phone and left a message. She never attempted to get a hold of me to apologize for wasting my time and from what he told me she never contacted him. This is VERY unprofessional. As this was the third bad experience here I chose to leave a review. I will NEVER go back not even for a free haircut... WHY? because she is willing to no show and not even attempt to cancel even though her computer will hound you to make sure you show up so as to NOT waste her precious time. Premier Salon? My hair has been long, short, blonde, and brunette. She can do anything and it always looks good. She takes my suggestions and tells me what she thinks will work and what wont. I initially went to Tease for a color correction and was really disappointed with the results as they in no way matched the picture I showed the stylist. A few days later, I spoke with one of the owners of the salon, Amy. She was very courteous and professional, and offered to have another stylist rectify the situation quickly. I went back in and Sara Storm spent three plus hours fixing my hair. She was a pleasure to work with, very detail-oriented, and absolutely knew what she was doing. Wow! I walked into this place after seeing the sign on the sidewalk that said walk ins welcome! I immediately felt like I was at home! First, I did not get an estimate before we started, money was never discussed until the end. I explained thoroughly my expectations and Amy knew exactly what I wanted. It was an intensive process that took 3.5 hrs, I got highlights and color, but it ended in not getting the color I wanted.I refused to pay until we get it fixed, as it is always the case in any other hair salon. Anyways, Amy offered to fix it right away but I wasn't able to stay at the time being, so I wanted to schedule it the next day where I would pay for the full service. They completely refused, and called the POLICE on me, accusing me of stealing! The Officer let me go, with the fact I owe $150. Long story short, I slept on it thought it's not worth all of this fuss, so I would go and just pay without getting it fixed and end things on a better note. Amy basically bullied me into paying an extra $25 for the reason that "I don't deserve to be nice to!" At the end, I paid reluctantly.If I could give zero stars, I would. Read Less

WOW!!just wow!Amy and Holly did an AMAZING job! I scheduled an appointment for an up-do, makeup and mani/pedi for a local awards ceremony... I may not have won an Emmy that night, but I definitely won with how many compliments I received!Amy gave me a pin-up inspired up-do that looked absolutely gorgeous! Then, Holly devoted an afternoon to pampering my poor little feet and my mangled finger nails before applying the most meticulous makeup job I have ever seen...These ladies completely made my day and made me feel absolutely stunning!Well worth the money and far less expensive than most places- in one visit, they have earned a loyal fan... never before have I been so well taken care and made to feel so comfortable...As far as walk-ins go, I'd definitely make an appointment... the Saturday I was there, it was busy (and I can definitely see why with this amazing service) but I did see a girl come in and ask if they had any openings and they were able to squeeze her in... Call ahead though because I am sure the appointments fill up fast!I've been telling everyone to go to Tease, and now i'm telling you to do the same! On Labor Day, I had a hair appointment with another salon, but when I arrived at the salon, I discovered that my appointment was actually for the following day! I scuttled over to Groupon to find someone who could squeeze me in and Andrea Freeman graciously was able to do so last minute on a holiday Monday, even though the salon was essentially closed!Andrea did a terrific job on my hair. I have really curly hair and often get frustrated by bad layering and hair cuts that cause my hair to poof out in inconvenient places. Andrea knew how to handle this and gave me awesome layers that work with my hair. Additionally, I love bangs and Andrea did a great job of making my bangs extremely even with the perfect amount of texturing on the bottom. She also offers free bang trims to her customers in between cuts. Going forward, Andrea is my new go to gal. Read Less

I went to Andrea after seeing a Groupon for a haircut, color and blow out for $59.  I called to make an appointment and she told me not to buy the groupon and she will honor that price.  I told her I wanted my greys covered and feel that blond highlights are best to camouflage the grey.  She said that she felt a dark brown with caramel highlights would look best on me, so I agreed.  When she washed out the color, my hair was BLACK with PURPLE highlights, I almost died.  At that point the salon was supposed to close, but she spoke with another worker, possibly the manager, and they agreed to stay open and fix my color.  This manager told me that it would cost me an addition $45 dollars for her to fix Andrea's mistake.  I agreed only because I was not about to leave there looking like a goth girl.  Andrea did not know how to fix the color, so the manager and another stylist had to tell Andrea what colors to mix and what to use to strip my color without damaging my hair.  After 5 1/2 hours at the salon, I left there with red hair and was forced to pay a total of $135.  $59+45=$104, not $135, but they all insisted that I needed to pay the $135 for "Andrea's time".  Mind you, she screwed up the color and it is 5 1/2 hours of my life I will not get back.  In addition to this, all 3 stylist made themselves cocktails and were sitting in the back drinking while my color was setting and I was sitting under the dryer with a burning scalp.  I ended up leaving there with a burnt scalp,  frustrated, in tears, down $135,  with a reddish color that I like, but don't love.  I appreciate that she took the time to fix her mistake, but it's not what anyone wants to experience when getting your hair done. To end on a positive note, I do love the cut she did, but will never be going back there and do not recommend it to anyone!!!! Read Less
