Very EXPENSIVE! I received a service that was rushed and the man was running behind schedule so I made a appt only to return the next day and the man who was suppose to service me forgotten my appt! Then I was charged $70 just for a full set that was stiletto (pointy shaped) and no design! Very dissatisfied so I come back the next day for a pedicure to give them a second chance & I was charged $70 yet again for a polish remover, gel top coat and a basic pedi no acrylic added or design! I had a great experience here with Brian I’ve been here a couple times and I’ve always been satisfied! He made sure the color was exactly what I wanted and when I didn’t like the first color he gladly took It off and let me see another one! I was very happy with my first visit to this salon. My nails looked beautiful and the service was friendly. My second time was a nightmare. I had a different stylist. She was not friendly, incredibly slow, not gentle and very messy. My french nail looked like a child had painted it. I was requesting a french nail with regular polish, but this is something I would think any nail stylist could handle. I ended up asking her to completely take off the polish and just do a solid color. In total I was there 1.5 hours and paid the full price of a manicure that I didn't even want at that point. The solid color wasn't even smooth because there was residue left behind from the french. I know this is not every stylist in the salon because I had a great first time.  I do remember someone complaining about the lady I had the 2nd time so hopefully she is no longer working there. My first time here. Not great at all! My nails were cut too short, the polish was too thick (5 coats!!) and I asked for square tips and they didn't do that either. I had to go back to get them done over and they still didn't do them right. There's gaps in the polish where the cuticles are so I'll have to get them done sooner. I pointed it out to the woman and she still did them the same way. Told me too that the glitter makes them look thicker, can't be glitter on top to be thinner nails. WORST PEDICURE EVER!!! Silly me, I was in a hurry and went to the closest salon to me. I guess I figured that a pedicure is fool proof - some are slightly better but they are mostly the same...WRONG!!!! I had a basic pedicure and it was awful. The nail polish looked awful as it exceeded my toenails and was on my toes too - the polish colors suck and look old and watered down, and my feet themselves just look awful. I don't recommend them. While the nails look ok...no way in hell I have ever paid (or will ever pay again) $60 for a FILL with chrome on top. SIXTY DOLLARS? I should have asked before I even sat down but even at more expensive salons, I have never paid more than $40 for ANY type of fill so $60 wasn't something I would have imagined. EVER. I didn't sit there and throw back mimosas and wasn't even offered anything until over an hour in....and when it was offered, it was explained to me that they h...ad to stop letting people have drinks because they would come in for a $5 polish change and just drink as much as possible. I declined the drink, that wasn't why I was there and I don't drink. Maybe they need to adjust prices or something for people who are there to get their nails done, not to attend an open bar. $70 with tip. For a fill. Nope, never again...I don't care how clean they are or how good they are. My nails look no different than any other salon I have been to, it's not like they filled them with 24k gold. Love this nail salon. Small details make it great; individual purse hooks at your designated nail station, staff offering beverages. I have previously had an issue with gel nail polish not staying on my nails as long as it should. One day my particular nail technician took time to explain the difference in brands and which would be better for me. I have not had an issue with peeling polish sence. I simply asked for assistance with my chair after having my eyebrows waxed and being left lying flat on my back in a dress. The nail tech assisting the lady next to me said something.. broken english, which I couldn't quite make out, so I asked again. She then raised her voice at me and said "You don't listen".... excuse me?? The lady next to me (a white woman) chimed in and tried to help because she also couldn't understand what the tech was saying. When the nail tech saw this (white woman) trying to help me she asked her if the question was for her or for me... now why would that matter???? I was there receiving a service just like she was... I will never go back to this salon. Service is everything and if you can look at me and treat me different because of my skin color you don't deserve my business or any other black business. Worst experience ever. Waited 30 mins after appointment for anyone to even say hi. After girl came to do pedicure the chair had soak the floor around and soaked my purse. She said oh sorry and sat my purse on my lap which was then soaked. After 30 mins she told someone ..who told the owner ..who then began cleaning the floor with acetone. I have asthma and couldn't breath. Then another worker started cleaning the ledges with another bottle of acetone. As this is going on the ...girl doing my nails is using an old bottle of polish and it's actually clumpy..just continued to paint nails with clumpy old polish ..till I had to say something ..so she asked someone else to do it. . after all of this.. I have a chance to tell the owner (1 hour and half later) that my purse was soaked. She touches the top handle and says "just barley". My checkbook and paper in purse were ruined. No one was kind or accomadating. It was the worst experience I've ever had. The owner or manager was the rudest of all. I really needed a relaxing moment ..and it was far from it. We had high hopes because this salon was recommended to me by 2 people.  Outcome was extremely disappointing. My pedicure was the fastest pedicure I've ever had and done in 10 minutes, my feet don't feel or look like I've even had a pedicure. My sister in law and daughter both also got pedi's and gel manicures.  My sister had to have them take the polish off and file her toenails because they did not do that and the paint looked terrible. Their paint choices were very limited and seemed old, we ran across several colors that were dried out and when they were painting our toes the polish kept needing acetone added to it.  My daughters gel manicure is streaky, bumpy and she has paint over some of her cuticles.Overall, limited paint color choices, old paint, Service was not very friendly and seemed rushed, also the staff did not speak English at all and seem to really struggle to understand anything you were telling them or saying. Went here 2 days ago. Upon entering there was 2 women already upset with their service arguing with employees. That should have told me to turn and leave. Asked for a full set. It took the girl about 20 min to apply. Apparently a set does not come with manicure. Charged me $45 for nails and gel polish. STAY AWAY.... There are far better places much cheaper. I used to love coming here to get my nails and wax done but overtime the women that work here have become so rude. They always pressure you for more services and when you say no they give you a dirty look and proceed to speak to the other employees in another language making the customer feel guilty and uncomfortable. I'll definitely be looking for another salon to get my nails and eyebrows done. Also they don't do liquid gel nails even though it's listed on their menu. And if you ask for gel nails they slap on acrylics, put a gel polish over it and charge you an additional  $15 for the "gel nails". Read Less

I've visited Galaxy Nails with my mom several time since coming home for the summer after graduating from college. My first experience was with the removal of acrylic nails which I had gotten in Kirksville for graduation. The nail technician was very patient with their removal and apologized when she pulled on a nail that was still attached. Since then, I have had gel nails and a pedicure, always being happy with the finished product. I got a Galaxy Pedicure today and a full set. It was absolutely fantastic. I called ahead and made an appointment, came early and only waited a few minutes although they were so busy. They were wonderful! All the staff was kind and great. I am not sure the ladies and gentleman that helped me, but they are the reason I will be coming back. The Galaxy Pedicure is the most complex pedicure and took around 1 hour and 30 minutes, maybe even more to complete, as I lost track of tim...e! I got to relax in the massage chair while they did my pedicure. Multiple steps, from a soak, to a sugar scrub, to basic pedicure items like callus removal and cuticle cutting, to trimming and shopping of toenails, then a lotion butter massage and set, and finishing with a paraffin wax mask! It was to die for! Then I got a full set of acrylics with gel polish, and jewel details. They assured me that since I was a nail bitter and have short nails and small nail beds, than they will fill or cover them if anything happens before the two week mark. Terrible job at gel nailsI got a gel manicure and toenail polish change this morning at Galaxy. I am sitting at the airport now waiting for my flight to Dallas for a wedding and my entire thumb nail polish is peeling off! I left there at 1:40.
