I had an appointment with Cyndy today. It was my first appointment with her, and my first visit to Bella Gente. So unexpected!!! I think the salon is a hidden gem. Cyndy listened to my concerns before beginning. I have a health condition that makes my hair dry and very brittle, and it can be difficult to work with. I’ve being coming to Bella Gente salon for a decade and let me tell you - I would not go anywhere else. The salon has very modern yet inviting and private feel. They work extended hours and accomodate my busy ever changing schedule changes without any attitude. My stylist Cheryl is very experienced in both haircuts and coloring, and takes time to really learn about my wants and needs to very single visit. She maintains my color perfectly and always is ready to give a good advice. Cheryl did my NYC friend’s hair for my anniversary party and she loved it, too! While Cheryl was out on maternity leave, I had several other stylists and they all were good. My son and my daughter are being coming to this salon too for anything they need - casual haircut, beard styling, prom hairdo and such. My first two times going to Michelle for a Dermaplaning treatment were great but my third time I got some type of burn on my face and told her when I was leaving and she said just put some neosporin on it. It got worse as the night went on and when I called back to talk to her about it she acted like it was no big deal and said that I signed a waiver that I could be burned, cut, have bleeding and or bruising. I had a wonderful color with Kathy Kucik. I entered because I was wanting to get a color and thought I would get my son's hair cut too. I asked for pricing and was told $20 for him. When I checked out, the price she quoted me for turns out was quoted for a different stylist Cheryl and it now it was $35. That's not right; the receptionist was not apologetic - she didn't offer to do anything for me. I didnt know who Kathy or Cheryl was! I didn't even know there was someone else that did our hair. It was very convenient and worked out great, but an "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way. I wouldn't have spent $35 on my 4 year old's hair - I mean he's 4 and a boy! lol. Used a Groupon for my first visit and was optimistic because of the great reviews I found online. The store is very clean and it was not very busy when I was there, although if it was it would be cramped, as the stations are all very close together. Ryce was the stylist they set me up with. I brought in pictures and gave instructions about what I wanted (I had a Groupon for a deep-condition / cut / style). She did not in any way do what I asked her to do. I asked for choppy layers and she gave me just the slightest trim (which I think I could have done better myself). She even asked me at one point if I wanted both sides done. As if I would just want half of my hair done?  She spent the majority of the time blow-drying my hair but I left with wet roots that were drenched in the different products she kept pushing on me. By the time I was done I just couldn't wait to get out of there. I have reached out to the salon in two different Facebook messages and they have both been ignored, which is the worst part. This was not my first time at this salon, but it was the worst experience and I will not be going back. I walked in Saturday morning and said hello and that I had an 8:30 appointment. The receptionist then told me I had a "fake" phone number on file and it needed to be updated. I have been through customer service training and business management classes when earning my degree, and this is not the proper way to treat your patrons - by accusing them of having a fake phone number when your phone number has been on file for quite some time and you have been called by them to confirm appointments in the past. The lash tint by Michelle was fantastic. The stylist Erin is very sweet, but I was not told about a charge for drying my hair, which added an additional cost from $51 to $77 at the front desk. I didn't ask for my hair to be dried (I was only asked if I wanted some mousse in my hair to add volume), so having to pay an extra $26 for a service I did not schedule or ask for was upsetting. I told the receptionist, and said she would put in a note and to tell the stylist next time, since they are supposed to ask you if you want a blow dry (I never got asked). After I paid and got in the car and looked up close in the mirror I saw my roots, which had just been done, and there were still white and light roots against the dark hair. I walked back inside and asked to cancel my next scheduled appointment and left crying (I have social anxiety and depression so being treated this way by the front desk doesn't help the situation). I had such a better experience the first time I got my hair colored here and for previous haircuts in the past, so I was extremely disappointed with Saturday's results, the way I was treated, and upset with the unexpected additional charge. I've been a regular client here for several years.  Always get a great haircut and also take the kids here.  They provide services for the whole family.  Always a great place to pick up a gift certificate during the holidays as well.  One of the things I appreciate the most outside of their great service is that I can book out my appointments a year in advance so I can get the day and time I want. I was gifted 6 glycolic peels and purchased 3 Microdermabrasion facial specials. All of them were done by Michelle. I believe she is the only facialist. Michelle is a very nice, sweet and friendly person. Each service with her was not consistent in procedure but they were ok. Upon my first visit, I was given a coupon for additional services and products. I used the coupon toward a haircut and that was ok as well. The staff overall is really nice and friendly. I and my bridesmaids went to Bella Gente to have our hair and makeup done for my wedding last June. It was an amazing experience! The staff were very friendly and professional, and the salon has a nice atmosphere. There were 11 of us, and the process was very organized thanks to Ben who was very organized with the scheduling. We were even done ahead of schedule! I was so happy with how all of our hair and makeup turned out. Brittany did my hair and makeup and she was amazing, I would highly recommend her. Brittany met with me for a trial visit two weeks prior to my wedding, and she was patient and willing to work with me until my hair and makeup was exactly how I wanted. That took away a lot of stress on the morning of my wedding. My hair stayed perfect throughout the whole day, and my makeup looked just as good after the reception as when I left the salon that morning. Even though Brittany did my hair and makeup, I would recommend any of the stylists at Bella Gente, based upon my bridesmaids' experiences. I have been going to this place for more than a year now. I love the atmosphere here, girly and cozy--none of that snooty hair salon feel. Right away they ask you if you'd like anything to drink, and they also have a place where you can store your belongings. They have different level stylists for hair-- I love LANA, who is a master stylist. She truly knows hair and which style will best fit your face. But most of all she is super sweet and LISTENS. I have also received microdermabrasions from here and they are amazing. I look forward to them every time. There's only one lady who does them-Michelle? Rachell? SO SORRY i am absolutely HORRIBLE with names-- I can, however, tell you exactly what she was wearing (leopard print tunic with black tights and black heels). She is super sweet and really takes her time with the session. My face feels sooo smooth afterwards and my mom always knows when I had a session because she says my face is glowing!! Overall, each experience here has been super relaxing and I walk out feeling great!One other plus-I bought a package of microdermabrasions and freaked out because I never carry cash--luckily this place lets you put the tip alone on a credit card...whew!
