I can't say enough good things about @fingerbangportland (check out the gorgeous photos on Instagram). A dear friend recommended it, and when I checked into it with a phone call, Ryenne was the person I first connected with there. She assured me that it was a safe place for a transgender woman to get her nails done. The sign on the door reinforced that. Amanda gave me my first pedi, and she's been my go-to ever since for manicures and pedicures, a superstar in ever way. Glyni...s, the owner, came by to talk with me during my first visit and set me at ease too. Madison has been superb on short-notice touch-up, and Katrina and Britnee have been sweet and supportive. Everyone there has been and has made me feel so welcome. The decor is fun — "Star Wars" meets rock 'n' roll (Marshall amps!) meets Halloween/horror/gothic/pop art — and the free drinks are a delicious, relaxing bonus! I've only been to the one on Sandy, but the new one on Division looks awesome too! I have never had less than a joyful experience there and always leave feeling loved and appreciated! Glynis was there on the day I came out as trans, and she gave me such a warm hug! Although everyone is entitled to their opinion, I really did not want the last two not-so-great reviews in a SEA of 5 stars to be at the top. I LOVE Finger Bang, have been going almost since they opened, and was lucky enough to fall in early with Sarah Kane, who is amazing. She is mega-talented, but I am blown away by all the amazing work I see come out of Finger Bang and I love the people who work there. I have such a great time every time I am there, it is a vacation from my life, and I treasure every moment spent "holding hands" with Sarah Kane. Bought into all the hype for an overrated experience. My daughter wanted to get a set of nails for Halloween and it was our first visit. The girl at the front wasn't 'rude' but made it feel like we were interrupting her day. The tech did what she wanted for the most part, but then she was charged $20 more than the stated amount on the website for nothing more than originally booked for. Just wasn't a welcoming visit and definitely not worth the almost $100 nails she spent her heard earned money on. The surprise part of my surprise manicure was that it was poorly done and looks like an absolute mess. The tech, though friendly, just used what was already sitting on her table from the last client. They are very accommodating. I was flying in from San Francisco and my flight was delayed, they rescheduled my appointment and did not charge me even though that is the policy online. Manicurist was very nice and she did a beautiful job, nails lasted weeks. Read Less

My new nail place! The experience is always amazing. Movies on, music playing and they even offer you a drink when coming in. The ladies are so nice and EXTREMELY talented. I'm now only a finger bang girl!!! I highly recommend them! Read Less

Wasn't what I was excepting from fingerbang with the service I got yesterday.. My nail tech her name is Luna made me anxious and made me feel bad when I told her how I wanted my nails. Almost had an anxiety attack by the way she was acting towards me. Hopefully next time it will be better and def not gonna go back to her. Read Less

My nails were done very well but I would not recommend letting the main lady do anything but brows. she was good at that but very rude. I love the man that works there, he was very funny and sweet. The kids are also extremely nice. Read Less

Definitely get an appointment otherwise it's a long wait. It's definitely worth the wait though. My friend and I didn't have an appointment and our wait was almost 2 hours but it is worth it. The technicians here are friendly and know exactly how to use their hands. The foot and leg message coupled with the massage chair was simply amazing. My nails are crooked, filled down totally wrong and my thumb nail broke the second day of having them on!! Called to complain and the "Manager" seem to not give a dam!! I've only been to this place a couple of times; the reason I go is because they're open on Sundays. My favorite place is closed on Sunday. During my first trip here, one of the daughters did my pedicure and the dad did my fill-in. They're prices are almost $5 more for each service than any nail shop in the area. But the dad and daughter did a great job, it was Sunday, and I needed a full set. This time the Mom was doing my nails. I told her exactly how I wanted them. She did not shape them how I wanted so I asked her to file them down more. So she gets an attitude and says, "just wait. I'll shape again after electric file." I didn't say anything. I just waited patiently. Just as she said, she started to file them again. After she's done, I asked her to file a couple of them down a little flatter. THEN THIS LADY GETS LOUD WITH ME! She yells, " I asked you what shape you wanted! YOU SAID YOU WANTED THEM ROUND, NOT SQUARE, AND NOW YOU WANT TO CHANGE'" So of course, I'm taken back. All this time I've been calm. No attitude or nothing. I was asking her to change all of them I just wanted two nails filed a little lower. But, now that she's raised her voice at me like I'm a little child - I'm pissed off. And I tell her I'm asking her to make two of them even and not as pointy. She grabs my hand and proceeds. It took all of my to ignore her attitude and stay civilized. Lastly, I'm currently still in the salon drying. Apparently she's talking about me because just now one of the employees came over to look at the shape of my nails. While she was over here grabbing my hand, (I'm thinking she's checking to see if they're dry-but she wasn't -she was just looking). So I say, can I help you? Then the dad says, oh she was just coming to look at your nails because she told her they were petty. .... YEAH RIGHT! This will be my last visit her. Because even if there was or wasn't a misunderstanding about however I want my nails there is NO REASON for her to get LOUD or have an attitude with me. Read Less
