To contextualize, I arrived at Ocean Nails expecting a fill for my acrylics and inquired about the price, which raised some flags considering the amount verbalized and the amount displayed differed. The technician assigned to me, oddly, grew defensive in response to my inquiry and proceeded to give me attitude, interrupt me as I expressed what it was I wanted, and went as far as to insult my nails. Thankfully, I was able to find another technician that knew my character and understood I solely wanted my acrylics filled and did not want my nails shaped (the explanation for the price discrepancy). The main issue, however, was not the price, but the the lack of customer service, etiquette, professionalism, respect, and basic decorum.
I immediately expressed to the manager my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received and clarified that the issue was not the price. I stated, verbatim, "I respect your prices. They are clearly listed on the board." In response, the manager continue arguing prices with me, played the "he said, she said" game, wouldn't look me in the eye whilst speaking, dared to put her hands in my face, and mirrored the same treatment her employee demonstrated not even an hour before. I will acknowledge the manager begrudgingly agreed to speak with her employee, which I responded I did not feel would be productive since she, the manager, treated me the exact same way as her employee, and that I did not feel assured that I could revisit their business and expect a better experience. After being brushed off, I thanked the technician who did my nails and left.
I do not write reviews because effective conflict resolution requires open, honest, and candid dialogue. I did just that only to be met with nastiness. After reviewing the owner's responses to previous Google Reviews with negative ratings in which former customers are referred to as cowardly, patronizing, and their experiences dismissed, I am disheartened to see that this behavior occurs both offline and online. I can confidently say that Ocean Nails has been my primary nails for over 5 years, and I am so disappointed that recent events force me to terminate my service with them. Read Less
