Great service and results. I would consider going back. However, when I called to make an appointment they told me it would cost $25, but when it was actually done I was charged $45 plus tip. I’ve been coming here since I was 16, I am 33 now. It is clean and I’ve never had a bad experience. The management is constantly updating their environment and techniques. The new girl (well, New from the summer), Jenny, I highly recommend her. She is gentle and kind and treats you like you are her only customer for the day. I have been looking for a nail salon in MN that offers the "dipping" method.  They offer it here, so I thought I was lucky.  All I needed was a fill from the last time I had my nails done in FL.  I arrived 15 minutes early and they seated me right away!  However, they INSISTED they wrap my nails with nail polish remover and tin foil to REMOVE my original set.  I argued and finally gave in, as "he" said "it only takes 5 minutes" (I was planning on a 1/2 hour visit). FORTY minutes later, they removed the foil and began the new set.  I was in there for 1 hour and 15 minutes and I had another appointment for which I was late.  Here's the really BAD NEWS......one nail broke the next day, a second nail broke 3 days later and finally after only one week, they all broke except for my thumbs. I have experienced long waits even though I make an appointment. My gel manicures peel after the 3rd or 4th day. This last time I was on vacation without even doing dishes or anything strenuous with my hands. I tried the dip ... manicure twice and that took so long and it was so thick on the fingers I could not wait to get it off. Then, I find out they are very inexperienced with the dip technique. Worst mani pedi I have ever received. My pedicure did nothing to make my feet look refreshed. She cut my toe nails so short the dark pink quick is exposed and the polish is so thin it doesn't even look like anything is on there. For the mani, she filed my nicely grown nails down to pointy nubs (I asked for round). Unfortunately I got a shellac mani so I'm stuck with the results for two plus weeks plus time to get my nails healthy again. The staff spoke to each other in their language the whole time which was just rude and uncomfortable. One kept chatting so much the customer had to remind her she needed to go. Never again. I stopped by this evening for a mani and pedi. I've never been to this shop but after poor experiences at 2 other local shops closer to home tried it out. I'll never go anywhere else. It's like the cheers of nail salons! Everyone knows you by name! From the phone call I first made I was greeted warmly, and welcomed the same way as I walked in, the staff was wonderful. Would not recommend the gel manicure. Mine came off within the week it was done. When I called the salon they said it should last 2 weeks and offered to redo them for me. The redo was rushed and sloppy. Gel polish was left on my skin and cuticles. The staff is very friendly, but I will be returning to Maplewood Nails from now on. Read Less

My first time their and I got to a chair right away and then I waited for half hour for someone to come do my pedicure . Then my lady kept telling me oh just a minute and walked away multiple times... she also kept talking to the lady next to me and not paying attention at all to me and she burnt me with the heated towels 3 times I had to pull away from her multiple times because of it..... she and the lady next to her kept whispering and talking in their language and poin...ting at my feet and looking at them then laughing... I felt very uncomfortable their... I have frequented many nail salons in the last 20+ years...never have I been as impressed & well taken care of as I was today at Lovely Nails. I was offered something to drink: coffee, tea, water, soda... I received the BEST pedicure I've ever had, complete with hot towels, hot stone massage & paraffin wax! It was all heavenly from start to finish. Good price for such a wonderful service too :) This is the only place I will ever go to again!!! Read Less

I went to the salon on a Sunday to have my gel nails removed. I had gotten them put on at this same salon 2 weeks prior. I called ahead to male an appointment but they said it was not necessary just to come in. It was crazy busy when I got there. I had one nail that was split in half so I could not leave, I needed them off before work the next day. The owner worked on my nails. He tried to get me to fill rather than take them off but I was not a big fan of the original job and just wanted them off. He pulled out a nail tip and I clarified that I wasn't getting a repair, which he understood. It turns out that he used that tip to wedge under the fake nail and pry it from my natural nail. It was extremely painful and i had to ask him to stop a couple of times. I also asked if this is the proper way to remove the nails. He said it was and pushed on with the prying and tugging at the gel nails. I know now that I should have walked out. I was left with my natural nails in horrible shape. White spots where layers of the nails were torn away, red lines all over the nail bed and actually black and blue spots under my nails.  My thumb nail would not come off so he sanded it down and put cotton soaked in remover on the nail to help soften it. After repeated attempts, but very little time between them, he just sanded the fake nail down a bit and called it done. Yes, the nail was still on, but much thinner.  I paid, no tip for the torture.  My finger tips were sore and sensitive to the touch for may days that followed. I will never go back to this salon. I am left with thin sharp nails that bend back and peel extremely easily. The owner was more worried about pushing people through and making money than doing things right and in the best interest of the customer. Read Less

Horrible experience. I got a manicure with gel polish. I noticed that all the tips had rubbed off. I went back the next day to get it fixed, which they did, but rushed me out. It's now been two days and the top coat is cracking and coming off. So disappointed. I've now wasted $30 plus tip and have to get it redone or at least taken off. Read Less

This place is fantastic!! Every time I go they greet me right away when I walk in and are so friendly, they even offer you beverages during your services. The signature pedicure is worth the $45! They do a great job cleaning up my nails and polishing my toes but the scrub, hot stone massage, oil massage, lotion massage, hot towel treatment with mask and paraffin wax dip right at the chair are AWESOME!! I go very out of my way to go here because of their amazing gel polish selection. I have seen Amy and she is amazing. But the last couple of people I have seen have done an awful job on painting my nails. I over tip while they under compensate. I call for an appointment to be safe, and when walk-ins enter they treat me like I'm nothing and do a bad, rushed job on my nails. Read Less

I have my usual haunts for nail maintenance. This time I had to go out of my way a bit, but it turned out great!I walked in and was promptly greeted. I inquired about the price of a basic pedicure ($25) and an acrylic fill with gel nail polish (Approximately $26, although I believe that was a combined deal because I got a pedicure) - and they did a fantastic job. I felt comfortable and welcomed, and my pedicure was done first. The nail tech doing my toes offered me tea, coffee, water or soda prior to my pedi.  After doing a meticulous job on my toenails (it had been a few months since my last pedi), she expertly applied the nail polish and I was promptly seated for my fill and polish. The woman doing my fingernails was very attentive and quick. Even when I bumped my gel polish on the dryer (oops!) she fixed it and didn't bawk at my clumsiness. She asked my name, told me to try the upgraded pedicure next time I came in, and sent me on my way with a fab new fill! I will definitely be going back next time I need my nails done! Read Less
