I must have caught them on a very off day. I made an appointment for a liquid gel full set. When I arrived I was told to come back in an hour, which I was fine with. When I came back I was told that they don't have any liquid gel but I could try the dip, I agreed. Another hour goes by before she starts my nails, but not before she told me that she wont/cant do the first color I chose. Whatever- I'm a go with the flow person. But now I'm sitting at home with a poorly done, lumpy manicure in a color I didn't initially want. Save yourself 3 hours and $50 and go elsewhere. Update: I went back in today to see if she could fix the lumpiness. Apparently dips with glitter make the acrylic lumpy and theres nothing to be done about it. My daughter had never been to a nail salon prior to Spa Nails and will never go back!!. The nail tech didn't explain the process or even ask if she had ever had her nails done before. When i saw how bad they were I called the salon asking if I could make an appt for the next day to get my nails done and hers fixed. We were told that wouldn't be a problem and to be there at 1130. We showed up and the first thing she said was she told me 1230, which was a lie. I wouldn't have agreed to that time cause we had to be somewhere at 1pm. The woman quickly became rude and argumentative when i tried politely explaining my daughter didn't understand but she got even more angry, loud and argumentative. I've been getting my nails done for over 30 years and have never heard any nail tech talk to a customer like this before in my life. I wouldn't send anyone here or ever recommend. Avoid! Avoid! Seriously...avoid! This place is terrible! Went in for a manicure, kept telling me "one minute, one minute" it wasn't one minute. Sat me down and began process. It's not a good process, she doesn't soak nails first, she does cuticles, she buffs/shapes nails and doesn't have you wash your hands, she immediately applies nail polish on top of the dusty just filed nails. She doesn't ask you to pay before she applies the polish. So you are done and have wet nails and she wants you to pay. I went to push up my sleeves for the hand massage and she said "no"- No lights at stations- just a dim light above- so they can't see if they are even doing a good job. She kept saying "I was able to do your manicure in 10 minutes" well, of course you were because it was the WORST and most rushed manicure I've ever received. When I went to pay she thought it was funny to keep saying "$150.00 instead of $15.00. It wasn't funny. I foolishly tipped her more than I would have liked to- mostly so I could just get out of there and never, ever return. They are the worst! Go someplace else- seriously! Read Less

This place always makes time for their customers. I started doing the powder dip with Lina a number of months ago- the most recent time it lasted 5 weeks without breaking. For $40, I would say it's worth it. It's convenient for me and the dip is a great value for the money. This place is amazing and all the bad reviews are false. These beautiful nails were only $45 and the service was amazing! My mother gets these done every month and every one that works here is nice! They recognize you and make conversation every time you come in! They are by far the kindest and best nail salon in the neighborhood. I would highly recommend them!! Read Less

I live in the neighborhood, and thought I'd check this place out. I stopped by on a Thursday night for a powder dip manicure, without an appointment. First off, none of the traditional manicure processes were offered - no soak, nail shaping, cuticle trimming, or hand massage. I had my nails filed roughly for about 30 seconds before she dove in with the first coat of polish. She didn't even let me wash my hands to wash off the nail dust from filing! From there, it got worse. She was extremely fast and sloppy with the work, as you can see from the photos. I still have polish on my fingers and cuticles. I was also asked to change chairs 3 times during the manicure, and was then scolded when one of my nails got smudged. Each station was equally dirty, with a thick coating of different powders spilled from different manicures that day. As I was leaving, she told me that my nails would probably chip and lift because of the color I picked (???). For $50, I've had much, much better service elsewhere. Awful. They brag about how good they are and their two week guarantee. The gel chipped as they did not do the edges. I called to get them redone/fixed per their commitment. The woman who was asked to redo had an issue with fixing chipped nails. I would have paid if she would have asked for the ones that the nail damaged since it was not filed well the first time. This is the best nail place ever! The staff is very friendly and professional. My friend is a notorious nail biter and has been doing the dipping powder at Highland Spa Nails. Unlike the gel, the powder lasts at least 3 weeks. Now, she constantly gets compliments for her long nails (picture attached). Highly recommend this nail spa and I already booked my next appointment! What did I just pay for?Rude. Rude. Rude. Never have I felt so insulted. Going to a nail salon is supposed to be a relaxing and inviting experience, this was neither. The manager is so rude and they all look at you like you are an idiot. I left angry because the manager yelled at me for something that is so trivial I won't waste readers' time. I'd recommend to avoid if possible. I found them to be cold and rude. As I said, multiple times. I hope they undergo a management adjustment, because I will never go back due to the service I just received from her. Good riddance. The only reason I have given this salon 2 stars is because the young woman who gave me a pedicure did a good job. I went in to treat myself and my daughter-in-law to a manicure and pedicure. The manicure/pedicure my daughter-in-law received was slap-shod at best. The manicurist got polish on her skin and didn't bother to clean it off. I did not receive the manicure I requested because the manicurist was too concerned with getting on to the next customer. I will not go back and I strongly recommend people avoid this salon. I hope the woman who gave me a pedicure is able to find a better place. Read Less

I am not a person that ever get my nails done. However i've had them done a handful of times throughout the past 18 years. so my friend and I made and appointment to get a mani+pedi. Plus I am in a wedding on Sat and HAD to get my nails done. . I saw the reviews on google and yelp and they were mostly positive so we went.... The minute we walked immediately one of the nail techs started her up sale pitch about the calcium nail power gel nails thing.. for 40.00$ that's just for the mani.... now if i'm not mistaken for manis there supposed to clean your nails, cuticles shape/file nails.... Yea all she did was file/shape my nails. when I pointed out that one was not straight she blamed it on me and the growth of my nails. the calcium powder gels are pretty, but not apply evenly, my nails feel like i'm reading a book in braille not even exaggerating my cuticles look horrible. Now on to the pedi. oh wait! I never did get one.. The same nail tech that upsaled me was supposed to do my Pedi. left my feet soaking and went to take care of another costumer... by the time she came back the water was cold, and i was upset. we paid and left. Oh and my friend got her mani and pedi, honestly her nails look terrible! a basic mani regular nail polish nothing fancy. she said she felt as if she could have polished them at home at they would've turned out better. I had Katie. LOVED her, very nice and great to talk to. She was very attentive and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. The other staff on hand were also very nice and asked me many times if I was comfortable and needed anything. Great experience and this is my new go to for pedicures. I live 2 and 1/2 hours from Minneapolis and always get my nails done with Lena at Highland Nails when I'm in town. She is professional and does a great job with shaping and color recommendations. I was a walk in and had to wait a little but they had me go to the pedicure chairs so I could get a massage while I waited. Yes please. They were quick and efficient but did a great job. My manicure has stayed on for over 3 weeks! Doesn't look great with all the regrowth but the gel polish is still there! Read Less
