The unassuming facade of this charming place would be easy to miss, but you don't want to miss this restaurant. I have rarely experienced places in the US that so perfectly capture the feeling of a Paris neighborhood restaurant. The food is impeccably prepared, with flavor combinations that are imaginative but not gimmicky, and there is an outstanding small but well-curated drink menu. Desserts are to die for. Wish I had a sixth star to give.

Small place, great food, vibrant atmosphere! I took my mom to this restaurant for her birthday. My sweet mother in law also joined us for the celebration. We started with a simple cheese board as a shared appetizer. It was delicious but a bit small. However, we knew from reading about the main courses that those would be the real prize. Our server was excellent and confirmed we had made excellent choices: the pork schnitzel for me, the lobster risotto for momma and the grilled trout for my mother in law. Wow! We all shared our dishes and they were all EXCELLENT! The restaurant was crowded on a Thursday night. Outside, you had to work hard to spot the small chalkboard pointing out the restaurant's name. It's a fair assumption that most of the patrons weren't there because the restaurant happened to be on their way home from work, but because they had heard how good it was. I will definitely be back ... and I'll bring friends!

We stop early on a regular basis. Eat at the bar and share small plates. Other times we make a reservation and order an entree. Either way the food and presentation are very good. Staff, lead by J.D., works well as a team. Hospitable place. Price is appropriate for what is provided.

Exceptional food. Small menu, with great choices. Also have a small walk in bar, that's great for a glass of wine and some apps. The owner came out and introduced himself and asked how our experience was on our first time in. This is first on my list of recommendations when someone asks me for a nice place to go out to eat in Saint Paul.

I love Bar Brigade. It is one of my "happy places." Great neighborhood gem. The food, the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere are all superb.

Great experience! Came in today off a detour to another establishment and wasn't disappointed. I've heard amazing things by my friends in the industry and finally got to experience it for myself. Server was friendly, quick and precise. Unfortunately had little time to fully relax into the joy of eating and drinking, but I can safely say I'll be back. Cocktail was great and wasn't asked what's in it (always a good sign [it was a Fitzgerald]). Mussels and oysters were fabulous, I'd order more if I had time.

Wonderful service, phenomenal food. My husband and I both had Norwegian trout served on a mushroom risotto with, I believe, mustard sauce. It. Was. Amazing. Truly one of the best dishes we've had the pleasure of consuming. Drink recommendations were spot on. The atmosphere warm and inviting. Sitting down at Bar Brigade's table is like sitting down with an old friend. It fills your belly, warms your heart, and feeds your soul. Go. Eat fabulous food.

We had a wonderful lunch, sharing the wild mushroom barley soup, the wild boar crepe and the pork belly brie baguette. My friend suggested Bar Brigade and, once served, I quit grumbling (to myself) about having to drive from North Minneapolis. Looking forward to returning soon and often. Besides the extraordinary food, our servers were attentive, friendly and helpful with the menu. This is a real neighborhood gem.

This is my favorite restaurant and my boyfriend and I come here exactly too often. The prices are super reasonable and the staff are all incredible, especially the owner who is there most nights seating people and mingling. He recognizes my boyfriend and I and makes a point to come say Hi every time we're in which is incredibly generous considering we're not what you would call High Rollers and I'm sure he's very busy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!!

Been a couple times, once for the soft opening and once for the helluvit (don't worry - there will be more). Portions, quality, and variety are stellar. Tyler ROCKS it in the kitchen, JD is actively present ensuring everyone's experience is adequate and all other staff I've interacted with has been warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. Although it is a smaller menu, the flavors are huge, and you can taste the effort put into these simple yet explorative dishes that they have decided to focus on. Keep it rollin', Bar Brigade!

The unassuming facade of this charming place would be easy to miss, but you don't want to miss this restaurant. I have rarely experienced places in the US that so perfectly capture the feeling of a Paris neighborhood restaurant. The food is impeccably prepared, with flavor combinations that are imaginative but not gimmicky, and there is an outstanding small but well-curated drink menu. Desserts are to die for. Wish I had a sixth star to give.

Small place, great food, vibrant atmosphere! I took my mom to this restaurant for her birthday. My sweet mother in law also joined us for the celebration. We started with a simple cheese board as a shared appetizer. It was delicious but a bit small. However, we knew from reading about the main courses that those would be the real prize. Great experience! Came in today off a detour to another establishment and wasn't disappointed. I've heard amazing things by my friends in the industry and finally got to experience it for myself. Server was friendly, quick and precise. Unfortunately had little time to fully relax into the joy of eating and drinking, but I can safely say I'll be back. Cocktail was great and wasn't asked what's in it (always a good sign [it was a Fitzgerald]). Mussels and oysters were fabulous, I'd order more if I had time.

This is my favorite restaurant and my boyfriend and I come here exactly too often. The prices are super reasonable and the staff are all incredible, especially the owner who is there most nights seating people and mingling. He recognizes my boyfriend and I and makes a point to come say Hi every time we're in which is incredibly generous considering we're not what you would call High Rollers and I'm sure he's very busy. Tyler ROCKS it in the kitchen, JD is actively present ensuring everyone's experience is adequate and all other staff I've interacted with has been warm, welcoming and knowledgeable.
