This was the worst nail experience I have ever had. The male tech yelled at me when I came back and asked for it to be fixed; I didn't even ask for a refund. When I said "can you lower your voice" he said to me "don't go there with me." I was shocked by his lack of professionalism and skill. When he first completed the manicure, he put a large gap between my polish and cuticle. When I asked him to fix it, he tried to dismiss my request by saying that if it's close then the polish will peel faster. I said that was fine and to please fix it. He "fixed" it by putting a third coat over the two coats. You could clearly see there was a thicker layer underneath. When it was done, I got out of there as soon as I could. When I was driving away, I saw how horrible it looked and had to turn around. I got back there around 6:50pm and when I came in the male tech, his name started with a Z, began yelling (as I mentioned at the beginning) at me. He said I was lying and that's what I asked for. If you misunderstood what I asked for, and I wasn't happy with the end product then it is your job to fix it. Instead, he called me a liar and argued with me loudly in the front of the store. Another female tech "fixed" it for me and made my cuticle bleed. I recorded my encounter with this disrespectful and unprofessional tech, and as I left I told him that I will be contacting management. ________________________________________________________________________ Response to the owner: I have had a gel polish manicure before and I have never had a big gap between the cuticle and the nail polish. The lady who fixed my nails when I returned was able to get the polish closer to my cuticle so that that it didn't look like an old manicure after the nails have grown a little. Update: there were a few times I came in and the prices were different each time for the same job and she charged me $65 for a basic fill? She also didn’t listen and filed my nails down way too short. No details, just black and a fill. So I went elsewhere and found V &T nails only a couple blocks away. I'm a stylist myself so I know the importance of safety and sanitation. This is one of the cleanest nail salon I've ever seen, I was very impressed. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful when I came right at opening. They did a nice basic pedicure and spent a full 45 minutes on me. The massage was a full 10 minutes each leg which was wonderful, however the massage manipulations were very fast and rushed and left me feeling like i just got rubbed really fast rather than massaged. I am giving a 2 star review because I have had numerous fine experiences here.Today's visit will be my last. I got my brows waxed today. Not only did my skin get extremely red and blotchy (a normal side effect) but afterward I noticed intense pain around my brows. After a closer look I found multiple patches where MY SKIN WAS RIPPED OFF.I brought this to the attention of the worker, who really didn't seem to care. Then she and the other employee threw a fit when I told them I didn't want to pay for a waxing job that damaged my face.Eventually they let me leave without paying (my friends and sister still payed for their waxing because theirs turned out fine) but they gave me nasty looks.At other salons I wouldn't even have to ask to get this charge waved because it is obvious I shouldn't pay for having my skin ripped off. I've been here a few times for an acrylic manicure. My preferred salon was busy every time I called and I got desperate and went to 7 Nails even though I didn't like it before. What a mistake. I had to wait over an hour even though they kept saying fifteen minutes. Then the woman who did my nails made one finger bleed during filling with the electric sander, then used the same instrument on the rest of my nails. She was in a hurry and I felt rushed. The gel polish flaked off after a few days on two fingers (which has never happened before and I've had many manicures). I returned and she reapplied the polish and clearly was impatient about it. Even worse, I developed a nail fungus from water getting under my right thumb a few weeks later. I don't wash a lot of dishes or swim or do anything that would explain this. I went to a different salon to have all my nails removed and saw that I had an infected thumb nail. I'm on antibiotics and have to return to the doctor for a second visit to have her drain the pus around my nail. I'm never getting another manicure, and certainly don't recommend that anyone go here. The salon itself was very clean and looked really cool, but the actual service was not great at all. First of all, I scheduled an appointment and instead of taking me first, they took my friend who was with me who didn't have an appointment. I ended up waiting a half an hour before they started my nails. I got a full set to replace my old set, and instead of soaking them to come off, she just ripped them off. Hurt a lot. The final product was subpar. My nails are bumpy and my thumb nail actually has hairs from the brush stuck in the polish. On the plus side, it was one of the cheaper places I've been for a full set. So if you're okay with paying less for okay looking nails, go for it. But if you like to take pride in what you're spending your money on, go anywhere else. Read Less

First time coming to this nail salon. My first impression was the exterior was drab... and then I walked in the front door. This is not like the typical nail salon where you wait in a small front sitting are surrounded by polish and other customers. It is spacious, clean, and decorated beautifully. The salon is split into three sections 1- waiting area & reception 2- manicure stations 3- pedicure stations. The shop is longer than a bowling alley! It has 20 pedicure stations! The decor in each room was spa like and peaceful. Five stars for this!I only had a standard pedicure. It was very standard until the massage holy smokes that was intense... in a good way! The young man that did it should be a masseur! Five stars for that as well!!My ONLY complaint and this really effects the people running the shop... they only accept cash tips. I never have cash on me and now I have nothing to tip this fabulous masseur pedicurist! I had to go get cash and come back to the shop to make sure this young man got what he earned! Don't go here I went a few weeks ago and left with nails I didn't like. #1 I wanted matte black coffin nails with the thumb gold. I left with somewhat matte black nails that look like rectangles all were black. #2 When I asked to have my thumb painted a gold color that was next to me the lady followed by immediately painting my thumb black skipping the following fingers. #3 I left the shop with acrylic on my skin. I know what your thinking on my skin it shouldn't be there anyway why. I have no idea why she got it on my skin but she did and I had to go home and file it off with a nail file. #4 The matte top coat barely worked in the beginning and after 12 hours the nails were shinny again. #5 I felt uncomfortable with the comments the lady was making saying my nails we're sexy and stuff like that. Which I could brush off if  my nails looked better. #6 After 2 days I noticed some of the Polish had come off one of the corners and that annoyed me. #7 Also not to mention not all of my nails we're covered with acrylic and polishI mean I could be kinder but I wanted a very professional look to my nails as I was going to a graduation. Normally I do my own acrylics that I can do both hands pretty well but like I said I wanted to look professional and I could have done a better job myself for 60 dollars less it kinda annoyed me alot and I will try to add a picture and just keep in mind it's been a few weeks and my nails grow very slowly. Made a phone appointment for gel manicure and spa pedicure on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00pm. Since it would be my first time visiting, I didn't know how much of a wait to expect. When I did arrive there was no one waiting, but there was a steady stream of new arrivals. While I like to see a little bit of demand, it was nice to see they had sufficient staff to cover.Personally, I loved the room with the pedicure stations due to the fact that there aren't any blaring TVs or Top 40 radio - very relaxing. (Note - there is a TV, but it didn't have the volume on while I was there). The soft lighting and spa music also adds to the atmosphere. The woman who did my spa pedicure was excellent with the massage and cutting my nails down, but the paraffin wax was a little too hot and she didn't initially hear my first ouch noise. The real star of my visit was the young woman who did my gel manicure. She was the fastest and I never had a manicure last so long -- I wish I had remembered her name! Absolute worst service of the times I've gone there. I've been going to this place for almost two years, and they've always been great but today it was absolutely horrible. I went there on a Monday and Tuesday and both days they were busy and was told to come back tomorrow. Today's Wednesday and I made an appointment for 6pm, because I realized that if I want to be helped I should make an appointment. I was there at 6pm and everyone was busy, was told to wait for 5 minutes. 20 minutes later two ladies come in and say they were had a 5:30 appointment but they're late. Mind you I've now been sitting for almost 30 minutes. At 6:50 a male technician come to ask the two ladies who came AFTER me what they're doing, doesn't even acknowledge me. When another client asks me why I haven't been helped only then does he come and ask what I'm doing and I tell him I'm unhappy with his conduct. He tells me those ladies had an appointment, SO DID I. Matter fact I was there on time, they arrived almost an hour late yet they were helped and acknowledged first. I have to complain before this man will even acknowledge it. Then while I'm talking he just turns around and leaves. Says something like "I have to work" and just leaves me hanging. No sense of professionalism, absolutely disgusting. I've been going to this place for almost 2 years and I actually thought this particular gentleman​ was great. His attitude towards me as a paying client was disgusting. He did not bother to even apologize, of course he doesn't think he's wrong. I will never set foot there again, nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. They lost my business, regardless of how little or how much of a service I was getting. Never again. I have never felt so belittled by any service provider as I was today. I wasn't looking for a free service or a discount, matter of fact I paid the full price when the lady tried to offer me a discount. I went there because I can afford the service I was getting, I've always paid in full for the services and as such I expect results that reflect such. Never again will I set foot there. Been going there for abt a year and I DID NOT APPRECIATE the customer service Friday! I brought my own polish asked the guy if it was too thick he said no it's ok! Ok but it didn't look good but her assured me it wld be fine. It wasn't, it was thick you cld see the lines and I asked to change the color. I was informed that I wld be charged for a color change! REALLY.....? I asked him if that polish was too thick and he said yes! Then I had to tell him 2X to cut my toenails, he did and DIDN'T shape them! Very disappointed WON'T be going back!!!! I have always had a great experience here! Everyone is really nice and pleasant. I have had a couple of times where the polish wasn't very good (the quality of the polish not the technician) or my nails weren't all the way dry and I smudged them and they were perfectly willing to redo polish or help me find another color that worked. Great experience. I took my mom and two sisters for Mother's Day, which is one of their busiest weekends of the year. We had to wait only five minutes then we were seated in chairs together. Had an appointment made for a shop around the corner from here but they only have on street parking, and go figure there's no where to park on Selby Ave! Turn around to leave, and see a sign for 7 Nails and Spa parking. Huge parking lot on the side of the salon for their customers only, amazing. Walk into 7 - pleasantly surprised by the big beautiful location they have. Explained what I wanted and left extremely happy with their work. Good Customer service made me fall in love with this place, but Bad customer service made me fall out of love with this nail shop.I like to give credit when it is due (check in tips and recommending the shop to friends) but when things change that also needs to be noted.I have been a regular at 7 nails but my last experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I needed my dipping powder to be removed and then wanted a regular mani pedi. The pedi with Ha went well, but the manicure with Tina is where things went south.I told her that it hurt when she took off the dipping powered nails with one of the nail tips and said ok, but if soaked it that it would take 30 mins which was ok with me.Once that episode was over she then started my manicure. I noticed that the color was runny and had sediments in it when she used the brush. I asked if she could correct the build up on my nail but she said it would be covered up on the second coat. I knew it would only get worse. It is annoying when you're paying money for a service and politely ask to get it done right but get dismissed. After she put on the second coat it seemed like she was right. I went under the dryer and since the interior of 7 nails is dimly lit I couldn't see all the flaws until I left and walked outside into the light. I looked over my nails and was like oh no ! I need to go back and have them do at least the real problem nail over. ( This took a lot of courage because I knew it would be an issue)I returned and explained to the person I think is in charge. She agreed to fix one nail. I sat down and could feel the tension. She removed the polish and then was going to put the color on without the clear base so I had to ask "aren't you going to put the clear polish on first?!" She said, "give me a second" I mean, really ? Your colleague did not correct their job, I come back to have it fixed and you want to cheat me out of the proper service? Not cool. The first time I was here, I really enjoyed it and had a decent experience. I was happy that I finally found a good salon to go to near home. My husband actually surprised me with $45 gift certificate for christmas from this salon. Just this past weekend (on a saturday), I went back and it will be my last time there. My sister in law made an appointment for us at 4 pm. She got there on time but I was about 10 mins late. I understand that I wasn't on time but there wasn't even... that many customers waiting. As the lady was giving me a pedi, one other lady was giving me a mani at the same time. They put a magazine on my lap and placed the UV light on top so I they could finish my finger nails at the same time as my toe nails. It was uncomfortable trying to relax for a pedi while they had me switch hands back and fourth for the mani. The lady who did my pedi cut too deep into the cuticles of one side of my toe and it was bleeding a little, but the massage was good. I'm not sure if they were just trying to get us out of there even though they closed at 7pm. However, they didn't give my sister in law a mani at the same time as her pedi... So I was sitting with her at the table just watching her get a mani.... IT WAS SO UNFAIR AND UNCOMFORTABLE. Brandon charged us $60 each (I even tipped $20 cash). With the $45 gift certificate from my husband I only paid $15 The following monday, I checked my account and there was a $30 charge. I called them and the manager Angela explained that our cost was actually $75 that's why they charged an extra $15 on my card. I was here with my girlfriends a couple days ago for her bridal party. She called in to book the appointment and asked if there were 10 nail tech to accommodate 10 girls. The lady on the phone said yes. We all went in expecting to get our nails done at the same time and there were only 3 ladies ready to accommodate us all. It wasn't a big deal and so we all waited and took turns. There was cupcakes and wine for us as well and we appreciated the effort. but we felt like our na...il process was being rushed. My nails were not straight nor were they cleaned once the lady who did my nails finished. I was already a little upset thinking that we were all having to wait to begin with. Yet the lady who did my nail didn't clean my cuticles, didn't trim my nails nor even painted the color nicely. My real nails were sticking out and my color isn't completely around my nail. My friend who is the bride, her nail isn't straight as well and she was a little upset leaving. My sister got her nails and cuticles cleaned, but the nail tech cut too deep and her finger was bleeding. I'm upset and this is my first time experiencing a nail salon. I won't be coming back or will any of my girlfriends. We all were trying to be good sports and even tipped, but we were truly disappointed with the service that we got here. By the time we had to pay, my friend (the bride) asked for the prices again and the lady who rung us up gave us a completely different price than what she stated when my friend called to book the appointment. I appreciate people who truly work hard, but my advice would be. Be patient with the service you are giving to people if you want more service. How have I only gotten my nails done TWICE in my entire 27 years of existence? That's the million dollar question.I fear that I am hooked and will have to make this a regular stop every few weeks now. :XI am heading on vacation for 12 days and decided I wanted to have my nails done so I didn't have to worry about them for nearly 2 weeks. (Next stop: leg wax. That's a whole different story.) After extensive research and paging through what seems like dozens of salons that all had mediocre reviews I booked 7 after reading a fellow elite's (Hi, Rhonda!) review and seeing how high their overall rating is.Thankfully I got Angela as Rhonda had recommended and she totally rocked it. I showed her a picture of what I was thinking (french acrylics) and after carefully studying my hands for a few beats she recommended a plan of action that would look best with my nail bed (thank you!) which ended up being clear tips and she hand painted the french with gel. I appreciated this the most as I have NO idea what I am doing and what I am requesting since this is all new to me. They turned out PHENOMENAL. I couldn't be more happy. They are so perfectly cut, filed, painted, the works! How can she be this good doing it all free-hand?! That's just nuts.Everyone there was super nice and we chatted here and there but not too much which was nice because I am not too loquacious in the first place.The whole thing only set me back $60 and I was done in under 1 hour.(P.S: You can tip on your card but cash is preferred; I will bring cash next time!)I'll be back for sure and recommended 7 to anyone else that is looking for their new nail salon! I absolutely love this nail salon. I've been going here for the past 6 months and I've never left unhappy. They always make sure you're happy through the the whole process. I usually see Angela but I've seen others as well and they all do a great job. They're all very nice and make sure to greet you as soon as you come in. There can be a wait sometimes but they always let you know and it's well worth waiting. I can't see myself going anywhere else anytime soon. I called over a week in advance to make an appointment for 4 girls. I verified that they could accomodate us and take us all at the same time. My sister arrived an hour early and confirmed our appointment and said she would be back with the rest of us. Well within that hour, they took walkins which left the 4 of us with only 1 nail tech. For our pedicures 1 friend got right away, 1 sat for 30 minutes and 2 sat for 45 minutes. Then we all waited again to get our nails done. We all arrived at 530pm (or before) and we didn't finish until 745pm. I'd expect this if we had just walked in, but for making an appointmwnt so far in advance, this was unacceptable.Another lady arrived and said she had an appointment at 6pm with a specific person; that person didn't show up to the building until 630pm! Overall, Not good business practice! If your going to accept appointments, you need to honor them.On the positive, we all received quality work. Read Less

I had a great experience at 7 Nails & Spa! For my gel manicure, they struck a great balance between being thorough & efficient, which is important to me. I got a very high-quality manicure in an hour. My nail tech even worked with me on what color would look best as an accent nail. It may be different when they are busy, because I went when it was very quiet.Their color choice was extensive, although they were out of one color I chose. However, the nail tech picked a very similar color for me which worked well.Overall, I would definitely be back if I lived in in the Twin Cities, and I will be recommending this place to my friends in the area! This is by far my favorite place to get my nails done! Lots of parking, many color options, and friendly staff. I have had past issues with gel polish only lasting about 3 days on my nails, which is definitely an issue for the price. However, the gel polish at 7 Nails and Spa lasted 2 and a half weeks before I went in to have another color. They have the temperature changing color polish, but you have to ask for it specifically if that is what you are looking for. I live 2 blocks away so I usually head over there in the evening before they close. Usually not busy, get in right away, and they take their time since there is nobody coming in afterward. Been here once and already in love with it. Found it on Yelp, called and made a reservation for same day, got there - easy to find and lots of parking! I got full set manicure of probably what they call "pink and white acrylics" which is gel based and not powder based. I asked for square nails and gel nail paint (paid $70+ tip for it). Pictures attached.I was very pleased with the time and attention paid to my nails and I was constantly asked if they look okay or if I want anything changed. Love it! The interiors looked great and location is great too! TV was muted - which is always a plus for me cause I'm there to relax.Very happy with the manicure and hoping it'll last long; let's wait and watch. My nail tech is Brandon. He is amazing. As a perfectionist, he is constantly asking me throughout the process if I'm happy with how my nails look. I have never been unsatisfied but I know he'd change anything I didn't like. Currently, they are struggling because of the construction on Snelling. Please support this local family-owned business during what should be the busiest part of their year! They deserve your patronage.
