I have been going to this LA Nails for over 15 years. I see Cindy almost every time. She is the BEST! She is so gentle and careful and THOROUGH with what she does. She takes so much care! I used to get acrylic nails, but developed an allergy, so she switched me to gel nails. After about 5 years, I started to develop an allergy to that, too. She helped me grow back my natural nails, which genetically will never be perfect, but are so much better now. Then the invention of the gel polish came along. After a few months, I also developed an allergy to THAT! I am still recovering from the effects of the allergic reactions, but she is getting my fingers and toes back in shape and is so attentive to the regrowing of one of the worst hit toe nails. My sister was getting her nails done and I was added in last minute and the lady doing my nails was complaining to me the whole time about me being added in. I was very worried about going here because of the reviews but it was the only place open on Sunday and I wanted my nails done. They were very accommodating and nice since we came in 40 min before close and asked if they had time to do a full set. They said yes but suggested we do gel since it would dry faster. I didn't want gel but I was okay with getting it since we came in at an inconvenient time. They kind of rushed us through figuring out what we wanted but again it was all to make sure we could get done in time. My nails came out perfect and I would go again. To the woman whom I've had before.  You should never charge a customer if you make them bleed uncontrollably for 10 mins.  You cut into my skin and missed my cuticle by 1/2 cm.  Then after 10 mins put my foot back into the water.  I really hope it's not effected by this at a later date.  My toe is still sensitive to touch.  The guy who painted is the best he should've done the whole process of a gel pedicure.  I still like this location just not this woman. VERY dangerous place to get your nails. The workers are extremely rude and have no regard for safety. I've had my natural nails ground down all the way to my skin. This place used to be a great place to go, but the good techs left and there is no one left that you can trust. You will be in pain when you leave this shop, I promise you that. Me and my friend were looking for nail shops to go to and ended up trying out LA nails since most were closed early due to Easter holiday. They were very unprofessional and I felt a very racist vibe through out my wait. I took my child here for a fun girls date and the lady that was working on my daughter was very rude to her. She twisted my daughter toe my daughter kept saying "outoutout" I ask her what happened and she proceeded to tell me that the lady was twisting her toe. I said something to the woman and it happened once more, and I gave the woman a piece of my mind, you DO NOT! treat anyone that way especially children, especially MY children! I went here for a manicure to get just the gel polish back in May. The polish looked nice and everything, but once the "nail" broke off on my left thumb, it revealed fungus. I go back in to get them taken off, and it turns out more fingers had fungus on them from the manicure. As the nails were getting taken off, the person tried hard to sell me a manicure, and kept pressuring me after I told her several times I didn't want another because of the fungus on my nails. The only thing they did to "help" with the fungus on my nails was just to file them down and having me pay $20 for the removal. They all kept me great company and the woman doing my nails was really careful and gentle on my hands. By far the best nail experience I've had in a long while and they look fantastic! So disappointed and in disbelief. I don't usually post reviews online but I felt compelled to this time for the sake of future potential customers. My friend and I went in yesterday because our usual spot was closed. We both wanted a full set of gel nails. They sat us across the room from each other (okay, but meh). They used "gel powder" (not actually liquid gel, but the fake acrylic stuff that some salons trick you into thinking is gel, and charge more for). The nail tech didn't ask me my preferences and defaulted to the most expensive options. I had to ask them to fix errors multiple times during the process. By the end of it my nails felt beaten up. When my friend and I rejoined and left the salon, we immediately compared nails and both of ours looked awful. My friend asked for almond shaped nails and in the end every nail was noticeably a different shape. My nails were bulging in the center and way too thick; it looked like they just smashed a jelly bean onto each nail. When I got home the gel polish started peeling off of a couple nails. I realized they cut very deep/short around my thumbs and it felt painful like they were heading toward infection. Had to get my nails removed the next day. I got these done before my first day at a new job. Ended up with poor quality, painful, and tacky looking nails. I am shocked by how bad it was.Read Less

This was my second time here. The first time was about a year ago and I got a normal polish mani. My manicure then was mediocre. They didn't even clean the edges of my nails and they painted my nails too fast so the polish formed bubbles and smudged like crazy. This time I decided to give them another try. I was just hanging out at the mall at thought I'd treat myself to a mani/pedi. The pedi was the worst I've ever had. The tools they used didn't seem very hygienic. The nail technician cleaned the foot pumice in the water while my feet were still submerged in it...gross. I didn't even notice until I walked all the way outside that she didn't apply the topcoat completely on the large toe nail and failed to apply a topcoat to one nail entirely! I went home and did it myself. This is the first time something like this has ever happened and I find it to be highly unprofessional. My gel manicure was a little bit better. I had to guide her on shaping my nails. I mean, they ARE my fingernails and I think I can tell if they are shaped funny. She half heartedly ran the buffer across the surface of my nail. Also, never have I ever had a nail technician shape and file my nails AFTER a complete gel polish application. I found it to be odd and thought that she should have shaped them properly to begin with. The gel polish looks OK. I felt like the nail technician was rushing herself even though it wasn't even busy. Last minute gel manicure and basic pedicure was done with such attention to detail like I haven't experienced anywhere else in a while. I literally arrived 1.5 hours before closing and was treated the same as if it were early in the day. Sita and Lachi tag teamed to do my hands and feet at the same time. Worked out well til someone told Sita to polish my toes at the station while Lachi did the gel polish application. A bit of contortion but nothing painful. They got the job done with minutes to spare. I must add, I do not have easy feet to contend with. But Sita was friendly and diligent nontheless. Pedi chair was comfy, gave a good back massage. Found it wide-hip and tall girl friendly for those that may need this. 4 stars due to 1) some bossy co-workers who were also a little snippy with me, 2) because they had lots of nail color samples but didn't have the nail polish itself in stock, and 3) some of the furniture was very worn out...the backs of some of the pedi chairs were pretty bad off and the rest of the place could use a deep cleaning to make it more pristine. The woman who did my nails was very rude. While she was filing my nails for my fill she burnt me with the file several times and not only did she not apologize she proceeded to blame me saying that it is my fault because I'm "too sensitive." Worst manicure I've had in the state of Minnesota.  The polish is horrible, she destroyed my cuticles and charged my 5 extra dollars, without telling me she was going to, because I used two different colors.  It also took 1.5 hours for a gel manicure.  Plus, she lectured me the whole time about not being married. Worst pedicure of my life!! If I could give no stars I would. I chose the gel pedicure- My cuticles are bloody and burning, poor callus scraping-my feet are still dry and rough, crooked French painting on toes (No, my toe nail did not grow on my foot crooked!!), paint on skin, seems as if the tools are not sanitized, massage/foot scrub/lotion was horrible, missing paint on the corners of my toes, just overall a bad experience. Very unhappy with their service and pricing. Call it a misunderstanding if you want, but there shouldn't be so much confusion when it comes to pricing. I wanted powder and gel nail color and was quoted 35.00. Had the color picked out only to witness the tech switch it to regular when she told me to put my hand over a cold fan to dry. 15 dollars more she says for the gel Polish! Ridiculous!! I gave 3 dollars extra just for her to round out the tips! 38.00 total for powder and regular nail polish, a rushed job that didn't include a manicure!!! Came here for a pedicure. Good location, lighting in the shop has a nice feel to it. There's no music in the shop except the music you hear from the mall. Yes, customer service here is terrible, but I'm not one to really care to sit around a chit chat with the staff so if you want workers to put you on a pedestal don't come here. Also, if want a quick mani or pedi, this won't be the place. The materials/tools they used appear to be of low quality, reused and unsanitary. They placed the tools in a small container so I don't think they're sanitized to par compared to other shops I've gone to. They washed the pumice bar and tools with regular hand soap over by the hand washing station. The callus on my feet was barely removed. Although the gentleman notice the callus from my heels, he kept trying to remove it with the purple pumice bar. By the way, he ONLY used the purple pumice on my feet. The gentleman used hand soap as part of the massaging routine (wth!?). Now my legs and feet smell like those Dial or Soft Soap hand soap! Eck. The lotion they use afterwards is probably just as pitiful. I can't wait to go home and take a shower to remove all stuff put on my lower legs and feet. The gentleman that did my pedicure was nice. He was extremely slow doing my pedicure. I'm not sure if it was him taking his time to ensure quality or if he was genuinely slow. He answered his ringing phone in the middle of the pedicure. At this point I was getting irritated and just wanted to leave. I even felt compelled to shout that I was unsatisfied and that I was not going to pay for this kind of service, but I didn't. Very inconsistent I want to write this place a good review because I have had decent manicures here but they are very inconsistent. Like most reviewers here said, they can be rude. It's aggrevating because my gel manicures stay on longer and look better than any other place I've tried but half the time I'm bleeding or being talked down to about my dry skin (which I have no control over due to eczema). I don't even bother getting pedicures here anymore after the first and only time. Poor poor pedis. Since this is the only nail salon in the mall, there's not really much of a choice unfortunately. I had my nails done on friday to kill some time while waiting for my friend. I wanted to try gel nails for the first time, so that's what I got. Quality: My right hand looks fine, but my left hand has a lot of bumps in the paint, and it bugs me a lot. While the paint on my right is fine, my cuticles are not. Damn, that woman destroyed them. I was bleeding well after the manicure. It still kinda hurts. She said it's cause I had dry cuticles, but honestly, I think it's because she was going super hard. It hurts :( She also left some paint on my skin, I picked it off myself but it's sort of annoying.It's only the second day, so I don't know how this manicure will hold up, but it seems pretty strong so far. I took a bath and theyre fine. Time: I was able to walk in, luckily. It took less than an hour for my nails to be done as well, so she was pretty fast. Price: $30 for gel nails, sorta pricey. I wasn't too concerned about it though, cause I wanted to have my nails done and I had to wait to meet up with people anyways. Staff: My lady was friendly and she complimented my natural nails. Do not go here. They are overpriced, don't do good work, and are rude to their customers. A friend and I went here on a Friday early evening for pedicures and full sets of nails. The pedicure wasn't a bad experience except my nails look like something I could have done at home. Next I was sat down for the full set and the woman doing my nails must have been a manager because every 5 minutes she was yelling for someone to do something. I asked if I could get a gel top coat with acrylic powder and non gel polish and she told me that I could not. Even though I've gotten a gel top coat many times from other nail salons. When she was putting the powder on my nails, I noticed that the pinky nail wasn't completely full on the side so I asked if she could fix it and she argued back with me about how it would be fixed when she got to filing it. When she was using the electric nail file, she filed my cuticles down until they bled. Once she got to painting my nails she left the side of one of my thumbs smudged. I sat at the drying table for about 15 minutes and then the lady asked me to pay. When I took my card out of my pocket, two of my nails smudged and they fixed it by putting more polish over it and had to sit and wait for them to dry again. They charged me $6 for putting a design on two of my nails. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

Honestly, WTF! I have never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. I will never go back. I went with a friend and the reason we went was because the nail place down the road had no opening. This place let us in right away. They assured us that they had hire prices because they worked really hard to satisfy their customers.... FALSE. So the lady who did my nails started by taking off my first shallac nails.. she was soaking my fingers for so long in the acetone and that is not good whatsoever for skin. The whole manicure took so long. In the time she did my nails she told multiple people who came in to come back in 15.30.45 minutes, when they returned they still had to wait because everyone was still busy..... Also one of my nails she did was totally crooked and she told me MY FINGER WAS CROOKED? Really?! BS. The french nails she did are awful. Worst manicure and pedicure of my life! My nails look like I did them at home. No, scratch that, they look worse than that because when I do them at home I don't get polish stained all over the skin surrounding the nail. When I went in to check them out, a nail tech told me they cost a little bit more because they spend longer on you. I thought it seemed like a good reason and decided to give them a try. Little did I know half of the time would be spent with acetone and a fine tipped brush cleaning up the polish she made a mess of. The time she actually spent massaging my feet, etc was actually below average. They also did my manicure and pedicure at the same time while simultaneously cutting my toes and fingers then putting acetone and other chemicals in them. The girl doing my manicure kept rudely telling the girl doing my pedicure to go call her cousin. At one point she even said "go right now!!" even though she was in the middle of clipping my cuticles. Couldn't think of a less relaxing pedicure. Didn't offer me a magazine or even thank me for my business. When I got up to go to the dryer, no one even offered to carry my purse for me with wet nails. After the girl was finished, I looked at my nails and saw a lot of error on one of my thumbnails. I told the girl and it looked worse when her solution was just adding more polish over it. On about half of my nails I have some sort of gross bubbly finish from presumably the top coat and the girl not knowing what she was doing. I'm writing this review because there were a few terrible reviews still on this site from a couple of years ago.I had a good experience with my pedicure. I got a gel pedicure (yes gel is on my toe nails). I am athletic and go to yoga classes frequently so want a more durable pedicure.The staff were welcoming and I got started right away. One of the techs noticed that I found the water too hot and added cold water until I was happy with the temperature. The nail tech who assisted me was gentle but did a great job. My nails look great, no smudges. The nail tech was conscientious when putting on the little drying hood so that my toes would not bump into it and smudge.The atmosphere was relaxing and decorations were tasteful. For fast friendly service inside a mall I'd say its pretty darn good. They do accept credit cards but let your tech know ahead of swiping it how much tip to add. Read Less

Went in today for a gel manicure because I didn't have time to go to my usual place across town.  I got in quickly, but the manicurist kept switching her attention from me to a woman in the back who was getting a pedicure.  Once she came back to work on me, she talked the entire time with a coworker.  She was friendly enough, but because she was distracted, she cut my cuticles too close in a few spots (with dirty nippers) and didn't even say anything when there was a little blood.  I got gel polish and the application was sloppy and after I noticed a few bubbles here and there.  Defintely not worth the $30, especially since I try to make my gel polish last 3 weeks.  Never again.I'll be going back to Ala Moana in Southdale because they do it right and without the sting afterward.
