I have gone to Serenity Couture for many years. Every now & again I have a less than desirable service. When that has happened, I have expressed my unhappiness to management and ALWAYS been pleased with whatever the outcome (i.e. refund, redo, or whatever is decided). If you are unhappy & you do nothing, you make it very difficult for a business to make it right with you much less fix the problem. Everyone has to start somewhere and may not be as skilled or have quite as many years of experience. Making mistakes & learning from them is what will make them better in their respective profession. My fiance bought a gift card that this business was promoting for a massage and pedicure package. The massage was great but for my pedicure thats another story- first off I wasn't taken back until 20 min after my scheduled appointment. Then the nail tech was not wearing her glasses.Her associate offered to bring her pair in from her car which she declined the offer - by the end of everything I realized why her coworker offered her pair -there was nail polish all over my toes and my nails were cut at different angles. I would have said something but she had already wasted 2 hours of my time to redo the color to her liking- Then to make matters better - I went to pay for my "services' -the cashier charged me extra for moving the appointment that they called me and asked to moved up. . I tried explaining this and that my gift card is to cover the massage and pedicure. She was determined she was correct and charged me extra for the appointment change that they asked me to do. Generally, the staff was friendly and courteous. But, overall, I was significantly disappointed with my gel manicure. My nail tech started by pulling 4 colors off the shelf and told me to pick from only those 4 colors. I asked about the other bottles- that were also gel polish- and she told me I could only choose from those 4 (including only red/pink varieties). This made no sense, but it was also futile to try to argue with her. Then, it was as though she gave me an express manicure, never touching my cuticules or cleaning dust off of nails before the polish. To cap it off, it cost $20 more than what I pay at home. Disappointed and frustrated are understatements. Paying $55 for a poor manicure that I’ll need redone in a weeks time is unacceptable. I won’t be back. Read Less

Went today w my daughter for full, new nail sets. The place is beautiful and they immediately got to work on us and had several other customers in at the time. They were the sweetest and most polite ladies. Got what we wanted and as we chose more and they were so busy, they called in help and two more people quickly came in to make sure everyone was happy, and we ALL we’re! Went to get my eyebrows done, asked politely NOT to use baby oil on my face because i will break out badly. She used it anyway, and she rushed through it. My eyebrows are uneven, one is shorter than the other, one is thicker than the other, there is a small gap in one of my eyebrows, and when she trimmed them she apparently didnt know what she was doing. Got an acrylic powder fill done (which is always a gamble at a new salon) but am happy to say I am more than pleased with the service I got today. Erin was fabulous and did a terrific job fixing up my nails that had previously been done poorly at a different salon. Will most definitely see her again! Read Less

Have gotten several facials and absolutely LOVE Michelle!! My checkout was where I was disappointed, took 15 min to checkout due to only one person checking out, helped 2 customers in line then it was me but had to take phone calls, 2 of them, finally another gal came to help her, but the other lady didn't even acknowledge me, started talking to the girl that came to help, and kudos to the gal she kept her attention on me and ignored the checkout gal. Apparently the gal who helped me doesn't usually check people out because the checkout lady made a remark about it so I appreciate her helping me and she could prolly tell I was frustrated I was being ignored. I love my stylist, but unfortunately the prices have gone up by $20-30 since it changed from citilooks to serenity couture. I understand that there has been a mass exodus of former employees, and from my experience the front desk staff have no idea how to treat customers. Read Less

To celebrate my friends 50th birthday we went here for a pedicure and facial. I was super excited because 2 of the 4 in our party of friends had never had a facial but my excitement soon turned to disappointment when we started walking back and the temperature rose fast. All of the estheticians explained that they could not do steam facials cause it was to hot. The facial was good but disappointed especially when we were all told different stories of why the air was not worki...ng. I am wondering why if it had not been working very well that they would not call me ahead of time and ask if this was okay. We also had a pedicure which was wonderful. The new dry way was very good. The staff did a great job and was a lot of fun. The review would be much higher if the air worked. I used to come here regularly, then the prices kept creeping up for the same haircut I could get down the road for $12-13.  I tried it again today as I was nearby.  For $53 for a men's cut, I shouldn't be asked by the stylist how other stylists use the clippers ("do they usually go up like this?"). This place remains a big facade with the same level of talent available (if not worse!) for much less.  I have had other services here, too.  Again, nothing about it is worth the extra cost.  Fancy setting begets fancy bill. I was new to town and lucky to find Serenity Couture in Rochester (for full service needs). The staff (Toni, Jaquie, Kylie, Brooke...too many to mention) are AWESOME - like friends inviting you in to relax, have a glass of wine, and help you leave feeling good! They seriously will make you feel GREAT no matter how bad your day has been. ... I've had Kim, Kathleen, and Krista for hair color and cut and they are amazing!! And CJ! My mom, who has known me for a few decades lol, tells me Serenity Couture does the best job on my hair that she's ever seen, including that of my stylists in NYC! Mani/pedi is awesome; pedi now dry in reclining chair with neck massage. Heaven. I request Phume (sp?) only because I call her my surgeon. I went in this month with 6 cracked toe nails and she took her time and fixed them all. She seriously works miracles. Had appointment for 9:30am arrived on time was told it wasn't until 10:15 told them I had two texts confirming it they asked to see like I was telling an untruth so I showed them and they did nothing contacted headquarters and told them how I was treated got NO reply! staff does not acknowledge you or ask if you need any assistance. Second time in 5 months I've been to serenity to buy skin care products. I should also note that both times there wasn't really foot traffic and associates leaning on the counter. Overall very unfriendly. I did not feel welcome to ask questions.
