I had a pedicure with Nora and I have never been so disappointed. Let me start off by saying, why would you seat customers in chairs that are falling apart when there are nice, newer chairs the next isle over? I looked past that but ended up having the worst pedicure in my life. My technician, Nora, was more interested in watching the TV than doing her job. She dabbed the exfoliator on my legs instead of scrubbing it on. Then, after looking over to watch TV again, made a comment about the show and even cussed in front of my 6 year old daughter. I only get my nails done every once in awhile as a treat to myself and I was really looking forward to a nice, relaxing time with my daughter (her first pedicure) but came out so disappointed. They did a good job on my nails but I went with a group of 3 gals for my birthday, we reserved time for 3 pedicures WITH hot stones, which we never received and they were very rude to my friend. My friends were on time and I was 3 minutes behind, when my friends asked to wait for me, they made them start without me. They said they had more appointments which I understand but when we were done they all sat down to eat lunch. Didn't even get the service we requested and basically got rushed through everything just so we could watch them eat while our nails were drying. Won't go back. Read Less

When I arrived, there was a lady and her daughter who expressed they were not happy with the fill job her daughter received. They refused to fix it. Then they continued to talk about them to me after they left, they said they know this lady and she is just trying to get free nails and if she gives them a bad review they will complain to this lady’s boss. Like I don’t care I just want my nails done. I got my nails don’t here last night and they already look like they need to be filled. Mentioned this to the lady doing my nails and she said she can’t get any closer to my cuticles. Two nails on my right hand are crooked and i can see my real nail underneath on the side, like the part they glue on wasn’t big enough for my nails. The service is great here. The salon is kept very clean, and it is always well ventilated. I've had my nails done here, acrylics, a few times over the span of a few years. The pricing is fair, not too cheap but it doesn't break the bank either. Every time I've gone I've had a different professional, and the quality of service and friendliness of the staff has been equally superb from each professional. Just moved to Houston about 2 months ago and tried out a spa place and was highly disappointed with the service I got especially with how much I paid. Read the reviews about tanglewood and gave it a shot and I found my new place! 100% satisfied with everything! To expensive and I can't remember her name but she is older than everyone I think there. But she doesn't listen to what you ask for. And when she does your feet she makes rude comments. The lady that did my pedicure was up and down the whole 20 minutes that it lasted. She overflowed by bowl of water and had to clean that up and was up and down for whatever other reason. I got maybe a 30 second massage when she got to that point. Then I went to get a gel manicure. The lady that did my manicure made me bleed on both of my pinkies. One day later and I could peel off this gel manicure that I was charged $35 for. I would definitely not recommend this place. Overpriced for the service you receive. Read Less

Went there last Friday March 17 and noticed Friday march 25 I have FUNGUS under one of my nails from them not properly cleaning my nails or using Unsanitized tools to do my nails! This was my first time trying them out, NEVER AGAIN! My go too place is Pro Nails but I wanted air brush nails and they were the only place in town I knew had it. Do not waste your money here! Disclaimer: this is a review regarding an experience nearly 10 years ago, so I hope that things have changed since then, but I feel something needs to be said. When I was a teenager, I went to northwest nails with a group of friends for a pedicure. Shortly after receiving this pedicure, the nails on both of my great toes became discolored and turned yellow, and they eventually fell off. Ever since then, the nails on both toes have never re-grown back properly. I have gone to see my doctor about this issue on multiple occasions. I do not have any underlying medical conditions that would contribute to this happening (such as diabetes). The only possibility given to me by doctors was that the instruments used for my pedicure most likely were not cleaned properly, and that I contracted a fungus from the salon. I honestly couldn't care less as far as what my toenails look like (pretty ugly now!), but because the fungus has messed with how the nail itself grows, I have had to deal with a lot of extremely painful ingrown toenails that require doctor appointments to have them removed. This has been an ongoing, painful process that has worsened especially within the last year or so and it is ALL BECAUSE I got a pedicure at this stupid place. I do not recommend Northwest Nails to anyone. Save your money, because not going is a much better option than all of the pain I've had to put up with for the last 10 years because of them. Read Less

This is my new favorite nail place. I've been here twice so far and have had the best pedicures. I had different nail techs each time, but both spent over an hour on my toes. I really appreciated how thorough they were. I walked out with perfectly pampered feet. You can find cheaper nail places in the area, but you definitely get the most bang for your buck here. Also, both times I was here it looked a bit crowded, but they have a lot of people working so I didn't have to wait long at all! Read Less

Wanted my nails done and I think I may have a new favorite place. The ladies were real nice. They all told me thank you as I left. I didn't need an appointment but I would definitely call to see first as I did. There are many color selections to choose from. I'm pretty sure I'll be back. Love this place and love everyone here! Excellent customer service and have received great mani/pedis here. Found it through a daily deal site but will continue to come back again and again. It can be a little tricky to find at first but when you call for your first appointment they explain the location very well. Prices are great and all the people that work there are so friendly. They were SO sweet and did such a meticulous job on my pedicures and shellac. It was such a pleasant and relaxing experience unlike some other inexpensive nail salons. I'm excited to see how long my shellac nails last, I'm confident that they took their time and did the best job they could on them. This review was just left on yelp! Just got done getting the worst pedicure I've ever had. I called ahead at 11:30 and asked if they had time to give me a spa pedicure and noon, they said, "yes, come now." So I did. When I got there, out of the 6 "spa" chairs, there were 2 occupied, 3 open chairs, and one completely unusable chair. I was sat in a BROKEN CHAIR with a sunken in back support. There were two pillows in the even MORE broken chair next to me, so I took it upon ...myself to grab them and put them behind my lower back. The woman doing my feet couldn't understand me very well and I couldn't understand her well either. She pulled her personal phone (which was not on silent) out of her pocket twice while doing my feet to see people calling. When she was done AFTER ONLY 30 MINUTES, I looked at my jagged toenails, which she didn't even file, and said, "That does not look good. Can you please file my nails." She only trimmed (not filed) the corner of my right pinky toe, said thank you and moved on to the next customer who was waiting for her. My toenails are half white (I asked for French tips), I still have rough patches of dead skin on my foot, junk underneath my toenails, and I was charged $38 for that. The service I received was sloppy and unacceptable and I took pictures of my toenails for reference. I am going to another salon to get my toes fixed. I would not recommend this place to anybody. I have been an extremely satisfied client at Tanglewood Nails for almost 10 years. I am fortunate to be able to go there on a weekly basis. The Associate that pampers me is Anna, however, I find all of the Associates in this business to be of the highest esteem, professionalism and desire to provide the highest of customer service. I always schedule an appointment for my service but am always so thankful that they will work with me to fit me into their availability; in the case of an unplanned visit.
