Awful!! Went to get a simple treatment, first of all I wasn’t offered a drink! The stylist told me she was ill and then proceeded to breath all over me! She burnt my head twice with hot water! The sink was terribly uncomfortable although she tried to rectify this with a towel. She hardly spoke to me until right at the very end meaning I spent most of the time staring out the window at Aldi! She sprayed the blow drying spray like it was going out of fashion which resulted in my hair going all greasy and it was styled awful! She didn’t offer me the finishing product to take home from the treatment! In absolute shock and stupidity I booked another appointment but I promptly cancelled this when I got home. When I got home the underneath of my head felt like it was on fire so I had to wash my hair meaning the treatment was absolutely pointless! I didn’t give a tip for rubbish service but I’m really upset that I paid at all to be honest. When people have money to spend and endless days to fill the salon is always fun. I have never gotten a bad haircut from them. All of the stylists are so sweet and great to talk to. The price is well worth their services and I highly recommend going there. If you are unsure of a haircut, they will definitely give you ideas and help you get the haircut or color you desire. It's a great place and I love going there. Read Less

I am somewhat new to Rochester and was super nervous to change stylists right before my engagement pictures (I have gone to the same lady in my hometown for basically my whole life). I made a 90 minute massage appointment. I ended up running 10 minutes late and called to inform them I was late but still wanted my appointment. The receptionist, said I would need to have to change to a 60 minute appointment. I asked if I could do 75 minutes, but pay for 90. Basically, I wanted to utilize as much of my 90 minute time slot as was left, and pay the 90 minute price. The receptionist said she didn't know if that was possible because there wouldn't be enough time. Huh?? I clarified that I wanted to pay for 90 minutes and just get a massage for whatever was left of the 90 minute appointment time slot. The receptionist said she didn't know if that was possible. I have been going to Jade for many years. She always does a phenomenal job and I never walk away disappointed! I tell her a vague idea of what I want and she puts my poorly constructed words into an exact vision of what I had in my head. She is definitely a hair mavin! I've been coming here for 6+ years from nails to eyebrows to hair. Although I wouldn't recommend the salon for nails, I absolutely love going here for my hair. They're truly the only salon I trust with my hair! I recently started seeing Donald because he is absolutely phenomenal at what he does. He gave me insightful information on how to upkeep my red hair and offered products to look into to make it stay red. Which last time I dyed my hair red with another stylist there, it lasted 2 months - but with how he did it and through his recommendations, the color didn't fade until after 5 months. The day I walked in to have Donald do my hair for the first time was one of my lowest days. I have Lupus, which makes everything very sensitive along with hair loss. I told Donald and he made it clear he completely understood and I would look fabulous and feel fabulous when I left, and he was RIGHT! He not only makes me look good but makes me feel good too with his intelligent and encouraging non-judgmental conversation. Donald is so amazing, he does three generations of hair for my family. it's hit or miss every time i come whether it's a good cut or not. i usually change hair stylist with every cut to always have a good hair cut but this time i didn't and i should of. the 3rd hair cut by the same stylist and you'll end up with a bad one the last time. i ended up with a shaggy mullet cut that i must spend ample time on every day plus tons of hair product just to look halfway decent. i'm a mother of 2 and i dont have that kind of time in the morning!!! i guess i will be wearing ponytails for the next 3 months or so till it grows out!!! Britney was amazing!! I gave her pretty vague ideas that I wanted. I haven't had my hair done like 7 months so she was in for a challenge!! She did such an amazing job!!! I'm so happy with my new hair. When she was washing it she gave the BEST scalp massage and did it for a long time!! It felt soooo good!!! I had a facial today with Angela and it was amazing! This was my first facial so I didn't really know what to expect, but everything she did felt great and my skin looks and feels so healthy now! She made me feel really comfortable and really helped me understand my skin better and what I should and should not be using on my skin. Had Tammy. She took her time, showed me a new trick and I walked out with a good cut! Going back in a couple weeks for color.Went back and walked out wiser but poorer. Perhaps Tammy can only cut hair. When I went back with photos of what I wanted for color, the same photos I  had when I got the cut, I was assured it would and could be done. I had, had this color before.  Well, I walked out looking like an Easter Egg. Bright and colorful... No highlights throughout...and stained face, ears and neck. Visiting from Cincinnati, my husband and I both scheduled men's facials for the day of our wedding.  Miranda was highly skilled at doing the facials and massage - although it was my first facial ever, it felt so good I plan to schedule one monthly in the future.  Service was so good I decided to get a trim while waiting for my husband, which turned into more of a full haircut.  Sara Lynn was fun and professional, squeezing me in without an appointment!  All in all a great experience, and we received numerous compliments at the wedding.  I regret not being able to commute to Hair Studio 52 from Cincinnati (700 mi away) ;) Read Less

I like the "spa" side of things - Erica is an AMAZING aesthetician.  I come about weekly for various waxing (which is magically painless when she does it) and I have enjoyed her specialized facial tailored to my skin type. I'll go a long distance to get good quality services, but I won't be getting my hair done here again.  I like Aveda products and scalp massages during shampooing. Why I won't come back for my cut/colors though is the lack of customer service I received on the salon side of things.  After returning 3-4 times and being happy with the stylist I had found a good rapport with, I called to ask if I could move my upcoming appointment sooner.  I learned that she had left the salon and moved away.  Fine, people move, but I asked "if I showed up for my appointment in 2 weeks would anyone have warned me?"  And no one had a good answer.  They accommodated me then and I tried a new stylist, and she realized the first one hadn't been writing the various color shades I'd been trying during the year. She did a great job and blended my highlights naturally.  Great. New stylist that I'll be happy with.  Right?Wrong!  Remember how I said I come to see Erica weekly? Well this stylist sees me every time and when I say hi, she just stares blankly as if she hasn't ever seen me before.  I tried 3 times to get a bang trim with her, and it could never be worked in.  I'm not sure, but I'm betting it would not have been complimentary.  All other salons I've gone to over the years say "come on in whenever you need a bang trim and they're free; and if I'm not here, any of the stylists can do it for you".  There seems to be way too many hair stylists and there seems to be high stylist turnover.   I got lucky at another salon in town, thankfully.  With better prices too. I have not been to any other spas or hair salons in Rochester, nor do I care to try any now that I've found this place. It is fab. Classy, professional, and the perfect place to go for pampering. Not for your cheap cuts. Hair cut comes with a delicious scalp massage. Aaaah. It was also one of the best cuts I've had. I only get my hair cut once a year and I like to really make it count. I used one of the spa packages here and I felt like the price was very reasonable considering I got a manicure, pedicure, facial, massage, and paraffin wax for my hands.
