Polished is my new favorite nail salon. I have had two gel manicures there in the past 5 weeks, and both times the tech was outstanding and paid so much attention to the details of my manicure.The salon is priced competitively, is nicely decorated and very clean and the gel color selection is awesome. I used to love this nail shop until things changed. Ive been to a lot of nail shops in the twin cities area. Never have I ever had any sort of issues until I came here. Nail shops that don't use barbicide for cleaning the implements but will use a uv light that does not clean the implements being used on everyone's feet is against the laws and rules of cosmetology in Minnesota. Which is absolutely unsanitary!! Never had an issue until one nail technician messed with an ingrown toenail which they aren't supposed to do. Plus I also received nail fungus from unclean implements. However what they are supposed to do is to direct you to a podiatrist when it comes to ingrown toe nails. Especially when it comes to fungus your supposed to stop service and let the client know why. Never had nail fungus ever in my life until I went to this location. From a lady that used to love getting her nails done I refuse to step foot in any sort of nail shop. Doesn't matter if you get drinks or snacks from a shop or if they are nice. If they do not clean their implements like they should be by law. They do not deserve the business. When getting your feet and hands done ask to see what they are cleaning their implements with. I've been there twice so far, longest lasting pedicure I've ever had in MN! Super welcoming and pleasant to boot! Visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago, walked in with no appt for a gel mani and pedi. The young lady ( Ivy) told me to come back in a hour, typically I wouldn't have came back but I did and was beyond pleased with the service I received from both the owner and her daughter. Great manicure! Lasted a long time, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I appreciated the clean environment that smelled great. Polished doesn't offer acrylic services, which is why I chose to go to their place. The location didn't have that strong headache-inducing chemical smell which was a huge bonus. They offer complimentary sparkling water, hot drinks, candy, and snacks! I really enjoyed my time there. It is a good value. I drive past this place on my way to work every day. I had a day off this week and was doing a "treat myself day". I showed up for my massage and realized that my scheduling skills are super off. I couldn't just call "treat yo self" day off so my mind went to this cute little spot. I called around 2:40 to see if they had any openings and they said to come in at 3pm. Which was super great, because who likes gaps in their "treat yo self" day?! I showed up and they promptly greeted me and pointed me in the direction to the polish wall. There are lots and lots of options to choose from. Lots of options overwhelm me, and apparently I was showing symptoms because the lovely lady working asked me if I needed help choosing a color. She pulled out the exact color I had initially been drawn to as a suggestion. I liked her already. Good taste she has. She whipped up a quick manicure and let me talk about my cat a lot, which is perfect because my cat is probably the cutest thing in the universe. She was super easy to talk to and no awkward silences. I typically am a give or take on if I like conversation during my relax time, but she was so fun to chat with. Like I said previously, the manicure was super quick. And not like, cut corners quick, but just efficient. I also paid 15.00 for a regular manicure (plus add a tip on there). The manicure was cute. My hands were a definite hot mess and she made them presentable. I shall forever be in debt to her for that. There was a spot or two when I was done, but who knows if that was my fault or not. I love this salon!! The staff are so kind and welcoming. They do quality work and they have a ton of different colors to choose from (including lots of glitter... my favorite). They don't try to upswell you on services and my appointments are so fun and relaxing. The decor is very cute, fresh and clean. I had my bridal party go to the salon before my wedding and they were extremely accommodating and it was a nice relaxing environment to be in before the wedding. This is hands down the best nail salon in Minnesota and I am so happy they are located right in South Minneapolis. Oh one other thing... they don't trip if you use a card to pay! Another great mani/pedi from Polished. Not only will you get a quality and relaxing mani/pedi, there's even more to love about this shop. It is owned by 2 young women (sisters). They also employ their aunt and cousin. They wanted their shop to be different from other nail salons, where tips go straight to employees and aren't "filtered" through managers and owners. I took my daughter (7 years old) for a Father-Daughter manicure/pedicure.  I was really impressed with how well they treated her.  She was beaming from end to end the entire time.  And the whole staff were so nice to her.  She was nonstop with her questions and conversation and they took it all in perfect stride.  They really went to great efforts to make sure my daughter had a memorable time.They did a great job on her nails.  Mine turned out well too.  When my daughter asked for a picture on her big toes they didn't even hesitate at accommodating her special request -- free of charge.It don't believe it shows up on their price list here, but they do offer discount pricing for children.  I would highly recommend going here and don't think twice about bringing your kids.  It is easy to see that they are experienced with children.  We will be going back. Very solid place for a pedi. My best friend and I enjoyed our LaCroix and the friendly staff. My friend got a gel pedi and I had a regular deluxe pedi and we were both very pleased. Only complaint is I wanted paraffin wax but I guess you have to ask for that, not part of deluxe. Read Less

With 18/18 perfect reviews, I was so excited to try this salon on my day off. I am a regular mani and pedi connoisseur (weekly). I like perfectly clean, round nails, and perfect toe polish. While striving to be a perfectionist, I am understanding that no one is "perfect". I came in last Friday after making an appointment. So I am a legit slave lately at work and don't enjoy spending my entire day off inside when it's a balmy 45 degrees day in Minneapolis (completely unheard of for here). I asked for a "quick pedi" and "no-color mani". While neither of these things exist on any menu, I meant, please do your best but in a jiffy and not get polish all over my cuticles. It took nearly 90 minutes for a pedi. The paint job was fine, but it wasn't as good as other salons have painted in the past. I have already re-done the paint on my toes myself. I felt uncomfortable while there. I listened to the other nail artist gab all day with the other customer while my nail artist said about 10 words during the pedi. The mani was the worst part. By worst, I mean the worst mani I've ever received and I would have been happier just walking out with dry cuticles and bad date fingers rather than the cuts I was paying to receive.She cut my cuticle (which hurts like hell btw and I'm still rocking the sweet open wound). I have dry cuticles, I understand that it sucks for nail artists, but that's your freaking job to learn to deal with it in Minnesota winters. Use more cuticle softener, or let my hands soak longer... I like my nails short and round and bare without cuticles. I don't think that is so difficult to get. I went home to have to file all of my nails again and round my toes. I have already picked at my cuticle with softener and my cuticle cutters since Friday. I will never be back. I left a tip just to be nice, but this place is not worth your visit if you care about your time and your nails.Sorry to be so blunt but not a fan. Read Less

I went in for a regular manicure because my cuticles were so dry and yucky from the cold weather. I called in and they spoke amazingly clear English and told me I could come in right away. When I showed up there was plenty of street parking and they had a great selection of high-end polish. The salon is clean and feels good. Ha did my nails and she was SO professional, sweet and didn't gripe me about my crappy cuticles like some other nail techs have before! I've never felt so comfortable at a nail salon before. I was initially hesitant about the lack of reviews, but now I know that's only because the salon is less than a year old. They do beautiful work in a clean stylish salon with brand new comfortable massage chairs. They had a very extensive gel color selection and use excellent polishes. Everyone that worked there today was very pleasant and would talk to me like I was a welcome guest, or give me my peace if it looked like I wanted to just read a magazine and relax. I'm glad I came in here on a whim. "Polished" is a great name for this place- an inviting boutique-y salon with great service and an impressive selection of gel polish... All at unpretentious, affordable prices. They have special gel colors that other salons don't carry from Las Vegas. $5 extra for these special colors, totaling $35 for a gel manicure, not bad. I recommend this place 100% as an alternative to those tacky salons where you're unsure how sanitary their tools are and charge $40 for a gel. I may have to drive all the way from St Paul now! What a neighborhood find! My daughter and I enjoyed the hot stone pedicure. This mother/daughters owned business is a joy. The extra attention to cleanliness was really nice. Only a ten minute drive from my home! Parking is on the street and there was no issue finding a spot. I was admitted right away and was asked to select a color, I was quite disappointed that they didn't have a lot of standard non gel colors. The pedicure space was super clean and sanitary, the water was luke warm when I got in so I had to frequently ask for warmer water. My nail tech was very attentive and happy to aid with my requests. I got the luxury pedicure and it was mediocre, I felt they were kind of skimpy with the products and the barely there massage. Conversation was great with the nail tech - super friendly and funny! The end result of the pedicure was great, soft feet and super polished toes. A come back spot? Maybe?
