My friend Jeanne Dempsey suggested this place to me. I was out running errands and noticed how awful my nails looked. I just happened to be passing by so I stopped in. I love it!!! Got my hands done this time. Will be back for the pedicure another day!! As a nurse it bothers me when I’m not sure if places are using the same instruments on me and everyone else. Been going here for years and I have never gotten the terrible service I revived a couple weeks ago. The staff talk about you in their own language and try to push you into getting the nail service that they want. I went in to get a full set of gel nails and a day later they were alre set lifting and coming off my nail bed. I have been getting gel nails for years and never has this happened before. I went in 3 days later to get my money back and the have a strict no refund policy and they didn't even offer to redo the whole set. When I asked for the owners number, they shut me down and said he is in Vietnam and is unable to talk to me. Long story short, never visit this place for your nails, they are extremely rude, they look at you funny if you cant tip more then 5 dollars and their price for their nails are over done. Won't ever go back..My 2nd time visiting on 11/3 and I made a post checking in. The next day the ower sent me a friend request and made an EXTREMELY rude comment on the post. I inboxed him and called to verify why he chose to make the comment and never got an answer. They did a wonderful job and answered all of my questions, as I was new to the whole fake nail thing, as I got my hands done. I've had many pedicures and I think the did great at that. They also were patient with my 17 month old and tolerated him running around, just being a kid! They were super friendly as well. Not crowded and they get you right in, even as a walk in. Came in on a Saturday for a pedicure and they were busy but I was told "pick a color" and set to soak. As I waited, more women came in and all were told to "pick a color" and wait. All were white women, like me. I got a quick but nice pedicure. As I was under the dryer, an African-American lady came in and asked about a mani-pedi. Instead of "pick a color," she was told "we're really busy" and not offered the option of waiting or coming back later. No complaints about the service or the price, but really uncomfortable with the way they treated this one woman different from all the rest of us. Maybe there is a legitimate reason for this apparent discrimination, but I didn't see it. I just moved to NE, so I'm looking for a new nail place. I'll keep looking. Read Less

Although the Yelp listing says "By Appointment Only,"  that didn't seem to be the case. I walked in the door to check it out and was warmly encouraged to sit down, they'd fit me in rapidly. (Which they didn't, they had only 3 people working and all were busy.) I sat soaking my nails for 15 minutes, but then got a rapid but totally satisfactory manicure.Tina did the cuticle clean-up, shaping and polish. She immediately found the exact shade and brand of shellac I've been using. She introduced me to "soft square" shape, by which she meant rounded at the edges. Conversation was light and pleasant. This used to be my "Go-to" nail salon however I stopped going there because of the service. I gave them another try in June and had a great experience and was eager to go back as I've always really liked the wife and husband that manage the salon. I called to make an appointment for later in the afternoon and was told to come in at 2:00. I arrived shortly before my scheduled time. After they acknowledged my appt the manager proceeded to tell me that I would have to come back in an hour and mumbled "sorry" as he ran to answer the phone. Unfortunately I didn't have an extra hour or more to waste waiting for them to "fit me in" for my appt. so I walked out. This incident reminded me why I stopped going there. They clearly don't respect their customers time or understand how to prioritize appointments. If I was a walk in I would expect to wait. However, when someone makes an appointment it's the business' commitment to honor that time and provide an agreed upon Service. It is evident that Mystic Nails can't manage or prioritize appointments and don't really seem to care. I understand they are in business to make $ and want to get as many appointments as possible but at what cost?  I'm beyond disappointed with their customer service, lack of integrity and ability to make it right. My daughter and I had an appointment for 5:30. We got right in the chair and were out of the chair at 6:15. We both got regular spa pedicure. I like that they have a protective layer on the bowl and they opened the instruments in front of me (autoclave bag). We will definitely be back!! Read Less

Very very disappointed with the outcome of my nails, I went and got an acrylic set I was treated nicely but Bonita did a terrible job at shaping them and making them even and smooth, no work was done on my cuticles at all, she made one of my nails so thick and wide I had to file them down when I went home. The entire time she was doing my nails she was constantly getting up to work on customers so I was in the nail shop for almost 2 hours. A week after I got them done one of my nails randomly snapped (I do online schooling and don't work so I'm never doing rough work with my hands). I then went in to get it fixed by the same girl and she did a terrible job again, when she was taking off the broken nail she just ripped it off which hurt alot, did a bad job on the acrylic again made it so thin I think it will break again, and did a horrible paint job, there was polish all over my cuticles. She was wearing the same gloves the whole time which had holes in them and just went and washed her gloves like she was washing her hands, never changed them. Very sad I had my hopes high when I went there and was extremely disappointed twice. Will not go again. Read Less

First time here. Horrible. I went in on Friday and its only Tuesday and my nails already seem to be coming off. I went in today to get my toes polished and my eyebrows waxed. I was warmly greeted and told to choose my polish and make myself comfortable, which is easy considering the chic setup they have. Great service from Tony and good work removing an old gel manicure (soak-off style which although takes longer, feels better) and replacing it with the color of my choice which included sparkly accent nails. Great attention to detail - he wanted to fix a whole nail because I accidentally hit it inside the UV thing and he thought it didn't look great (I thought it was fine so he left it). Total cost $30 and about an hour of time. I'm afraid he didn't get my tip because I put it on the credit card signature slip, so next time I'll bring cash. Read Less

I had a great experience here. A few weeks ago I was in need of a fix to my gel polish i had gotten a few weeks prior. I first headed to a location down the road and when I was ignored for more than 20 min I headed straight for Mystic in hopes they would be able to accommodate me. I was seated and she began working on my nails right away, which was such a relief. She took off the old gel and redid them. She asked me the shape I wanted and how I wanted them to look. The only downside was when I was explaining the design I wanted  someone else came in at the same time and asked for french tips and I think the women doing my nails got confused and gave me french tips, which although not what I wanted still looked nice. Also I got a free wax thing for my hands it was weird but very cool. Everything was only $35 which to me is a steal! This is my to go nails place whenever I need a perfect gel manicure!! Got an acrylic gel manicure with pedicure and Tina did an excellent job!! She's the sweetest and really attentive. The place is clean and they have the prettiest color. Not to mention their price is really great! I've done my nails in other places like the mall, and they can't beat the price, nor the quality of the their service. I'm not sure why people don't give good review here honestly. Over the years the staff has gotten smaller. There are never enough employees to accurately supply the demand for the amount of customers they bring in, they freak out if you have any complaints at all, and they are always trying to push you to upgrade.Joey is very nice and realistic- he always does lovely work and is honest with customers about how long of a wait it will be. Tina also does nice work but always seems to be in more of a rush and lies about how long you will wait saying "15 minutes just pick a color!" Whenever this happens I tend to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour because they simply have no staff here. As for the rest of the staff in terms of quality it's very hit or miss. Sometimes my nails are amazing, more recently they seem to be cutting corners, being rough with me, and not doing as amazing as I have seen them do in the past. Read Less

I have had my nails done here quite a few times. Usually everything goes well, although you can always expect a little bit if a wait. Today, unfortunately, was unreal. I called ahead to see what time they were open until and the guy on the phone asked if I could come at 3 (giving them a 2 hour notice!). I said sure, although not ideal, but made the "appointment".  I arrived at 2:50 after running some errands. I noticed that they were kind of busy.  I was seated in a pedicure chair and my feet in warm water.At 3:35 (after the water had become cold) I was finally beginning my pedicure.  I could tell that the woman was rushing as there were still three other women waiting for pedicures!!! My nails turned out fine.I see sanitizer equipment around there so that's enduring, but I always see them pulling tools out of little plastic boxes. So, I'm not exactly sure if sterile equipment is being used on me or if it's from the last person (yuk).I think I might be looking for a new nail place. Read Less

I went in to get a French tip full set and asked the woman to do them short because my job as a server is vigorous on my hands and they will catch on things. She repeatedly told me that she couldn't do them shorter because it wouldn't look good. I only wanted them about to the end of my finger maybe a tiny bit past.Anyway, she did not do what I asked and yesterday at work my pinky nai ripped off taking my entire really nail with it.Now, my finger looks disgusting and is full of blood and may possibly grow back looking weird, all because this woman couldn't follow my simple request of filing my fucking nails.Besides that, all my nails, other than my thumbs, started coming off within 2 days of getting them. For 40 bucks plus a tip, they should be lasting longer than that.When I called to tell them how displease I was, instead of trying to actually help me or fix it, they tried to convince me I called the wrong place, which doesn't make any sense, because how the hell would they know? I've only had my nails done once in Minneapolis and it was for sure at Mystic Nails.I am super pissed off, not to mention in quite a bit of pain. I will not be returning to this salon for any reason. They are not a bad place but not a good place either. I read reviews on here before stoping in. I happened to walk in a few mins before they were suppose to be closing. Instead of telling me they didn't have time she had me pick a color and sit down. I asked if they had matte black nail polish. I was told by the woman that they had a matte top coat that made any nail polish matte. Sounded good to me. I asked for stiletto style nails. After she asked what length I wanted and cut all the nails she tells me that they would look better longer but she has already cut them so it's too late. The she said it will look fine. I should have walked out at that point. She then proceeded to rush through my nails. But asked me if I wanted a design I told her a few jewels on the ring finger. Haha that turned in to my entire nail covered in jewels. In the end the top coat didn't work. I walked out paying for something I didn't want. I have had them for about 5 days and I already need a fill. I won't be going back. Read Less

I was running some errands in the neighborhood, and thought I'd swing in for a pedi and give this place a try. Everything started out fine-your usual asian chop shop. I was reading a magazine, when suddenly-Ow! my nail tech was yanking out part of my nail! I have kind of a funny toenail from having an ingrown toenail removed over 15 years ago. Most places just trim it flush, you can barely see it and have to look for it. I don't know if she thought it was skin or what, but I asked her to leave it alone, but the damage had been done. I really hope this doesn't turn into an infection or another ingrown toenail. She also ANSWERED HER CELL PHONE during my pedicure. I won't even talk on my phone out of respect for the service provider, I was absolutely appalled. She gave me a lovely scrub, massage, etc after that and could have redeemed herself, but then she painted on the gawdiest flowers on my toenails. I was very apologetic but asked if she could paint over them, as they were just too much for me. She insisted I just wasn't used to them and to give them some time, and that I could come back later if I still wasn't happy. She hadn't put the topcoat on yet so I really don't know why she couldn't just fix it. Now I am tempted to just paint over them myself. Lastly, and this was what really did it for me-upon paying I used my credit card and wrote my tip (much lower than my usual amount) on the tip line. She then asked if I could give her cash instead for her tip, scribbled out my receipt, then when I said I only had $3 cash on me (the tip was going to be $6), she realized she'd rather wait and scribbled out my receipt again.
