My fiance and I treated ourselves to a couple's massage and express facials at Lontis. The staff was extremely friendly and had no problem fitting us in, even with short notice. The appointment confirmation call ahead of time was actually a nice touch which we appreciated. Lontis was very clean and quite and the massage room was private. I just got back from a last minute walk in and I cannot say enough about the service I received. I am in town for a wedding and got a gel manicure at another nail salon (which went horribly) and I needed a redo fast. I called Lontis and they were able to fit me in. Don't be fooled by the website- I went with a couple girls and we picked the 'package A'At $110 per person.' It ended up being $134/pp and I specially was conned into an extra service without knowing it- so beware- I was asked if I wanted oil for a deep tissue massage so I said yes thinking it was just included in my package. Nope. It wasn't. I was unknowingly upsold on the package I was told would be $110- which actually wasn't- bc we booked on a Sunday added a fee of $20 to each person. Plus my 'deep tissue' treatment which was nothing more than a eucalyptus oil at $150. Anyway nothing was what it should have been. It would have been no stars for the trickery but the massage and facial were actually ok. But I don't like being tricked when they know I was sold a package initially. Read Less

My friend and I booked a girls weekend downtown and wanted to start the afternoon off with some manicures. The staff was so welcoming and friendly and very professional. We were offered some water and snacks while we waited for our technicians.   Though we had planned to have our nails done at the same time, one of the technicians was held up by another client (which happens, no big deal) so I had to wait a bit, but it was we were still finished at relatively the same time. I wish I could remember the name of the girl that did my nails but she was so knowledgeable about the polish line and the colors and the colors compared to other nail color lines. She did a fabulous job on my nails and the polish lasted over two weeks and still looked great. (this is with a gel manicure) I would definitely recommend this spot to other people and will be back when I want to spend an afternoon downtown. Read Less

This is not a spa! The pictures on the website must have been taken somewhere else because they do not accurately represent what this place looks like. Most of the staff was extremely unprofessional, unorganized and cut corners in every area possible. The masseuse I had could not have had any professional training - she pulled my arms up behind my back and then pulled my legs up and bent them backward - and then karate chopped my whole body, including my butt! It was the most akward massage I have ever had and was a complete waste of money. We had a party of 5 and 3 of the 5 of us had a terrible experience. Do not waste your money here - go to a real spa. I went here with my sisters and mom to celebrate my mom's retirement. We all had massages and pedicures. The massage was amazing and they organized it so that we would all get pedicures at the same time together and even let us bring in a bottle of wine to celebrate. Im visiting downtown Minneapolis n was recommended Lontis day spa by the hotel i stayed at. The hotel ddnt have an updated brochure so i booked their Spa Sampler which included a 30 min massage, 30 min facial , hand n toes polish and a hairwash plus blowdry. I ddnt want the polish so i adjusted it with alonger massage time while booking the appointment.When i reached the place it turned out that they had a new brochure n their services combination was slightly different.The receptionist was welcoming n had promised an email for directions thru the skywalk, which had bounced back, so she concernedly called to make sure i knew where to go in the maze of downtown SW which was really nice of her.She patiently went over the different options to chose from so i could have the services i wanted instead of the only ones mentioned.She herself conducted my massage, which was 4 star ( i admit the knots were too much to be handled within 30 mins) but she tried her best.Facial was also very nice by another of their therapists, had a nice chat all thru the following mani, pedi, blowdry n make over.For a total of 235$ the half day package was worthit n i had a good time n result.Also it was not a busy hour so it was just me n the female therapist. Pretty peaceful for a small place in the middle of the shopping area of Nicollet avenue. The only downside was background music being louder than would suit a spa's relaxing atmosphere. Read Less

Excellent nail service from Tim! He does a wonderful job of cleaning and painting my nails, with ease and care. He's a great conversationalist if you're the chatty type like myself but he's also considerate if you want some quiet me time. The spa is so welcoming! They greeted my friend and I with a smile and checked is in. We were asked if we wanted water or tea and received cucumber infused water. Loved the hospitality!Overall, I would recommend coming here to get your nails done! They're very friendly. I brought 4 clients here for mani/pedi treatments and I was embarrassed at how awful the service was. The salon only had two technicians for a party of 4 and one seemed to be the receptionist "just helping out". If you don't have the staff to accommodate appointments, then be clear that two people will have to wait before taking the booking. I don't expect to pay $90 for a receptionist to do my treatment. Getting a gift certificate for lontis day spa & salon gave me an opportunity to try them out for deep tissue massage. Atmosphere, music and smell of different aroma oils create relaxing atmosphere and drug you to come back there. It is located in skyway so I was a little bit skeptical about service provided. I have long, thick Asian hair and I'm so glad I went to this salon! My hair hasn't been maintained for about a year and it was getting gross. I called in for a hair appointment and got in the same day with the owner of the salon. For only $55 I got a shampoo and cut. She cut about 5 inches off and added lots of layers in my hair! Even my husband noticed it! I will come back again! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because it's a little tricky place to find unless you know your way on the skyway. Read Less

Bridget did a shellac (?) manicure for me and it was beautiful and it looks like she is actually really talented at designs as well. I randomly happened upon this place becuase of the "Places" app on my phone and I can't wait to go back for their happy hour and probably a package for my birthday. I am a concierge and front desk associate for a hotel in Minneapolis and I will confidently refer guests here. The only reason I am giving four stars is because of the location. It is located off of a busy skyway and probably would be sort of difficult to find if you were looking for it.....the friendly and knowledgeable employees basically make up for it though! Also, side note. If you have ever had a really good manicure you know that it will end up being over $30, so people really need to stop saying it's pricey. When I lived in Minneapolis, this was my go-to place for getting manicures and pedicures. I even got a massage there once and it was great. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and I always was happy with my experience there. It's not the cheapest place in the area, but they really take their time, do a great job, and go the extra mile to make sure you are happy and comfortable. I was willing to pay a little extra for that. As a bonus, if you go for their Happy Hour specials, you can save a little bit of money on some of their services.Now that I am back on the east coast, I am so sad I can't come here anymore! The massage was great but the atmosphere was not. It was extremely noisy. I was offered headphones to help drown out the noise. It wasn't anyone's fault just poorly designed. The room for massage is basically just partitioned off from the salon so you heard every conversation and hair dryer. I felt bad for my therapist working in such a tiny space. She barely had room to walk around the table. She did give a great massage and I loved the use of stones and a salt back scrub at the end. Still, not worth the price due to atmosphere. Read Less

Lontis is a fabulous spa! Lindsey and Nina are both excellent at what they do. Kaiti is awesome at massage! After finding Lindsey, I doubt I'll ever let anyone else take scissors to my hair. We had a wonderful time celebrating my mother's birthday with a Spa Party Package at Lontis. It is a small place, perhaps not as luxurious as a typical day spa, but the employees were very nice and did a great job. The price was also reasonable.
